Thanks, Barb.

Yes, 250ml is a lot, but he's a hungry hungry hippo. He drinks between 180 and 250ml per EBM feed, and he has 4 of those a day, sometimes with a smaller (60-120ml) top up if needed. Plus 2-3 breastfeeds. Sometimes more.

I know it's a lot, but it's what he seems to need - he doesn't suck for comfort (he prefers clutching hair and being face-to-face for that) he just gets hungry ... He's a big boy, and went from 000 to 0 in about 5 weeks, and is getting pretty close to needing size 1s now. At his most intense part of his last growth spurt, he was feeding 10-14 times a day, then thankfully settled back down to 6-8 feeds again. He's perfectly healthy, he rarely spews, nappies are all good, the MHCN isn't concerned by his size, and he's developing normally - he's just a chunker!

He likes his solids. We're doing BLS, and he's loving it. He eats (graws and swallows - no teeth yet ... this pleases me ... ) meat, fish, veggies, pasta, rice, bread. It's hard to tell how much actually gets down, but I would hazzard a guess of between 2tbs and a cup of food per meal. It varies a lot, and we try to let him do his own thing with it, as he figures out the whole "eating" caper.

We might try a straw cup and see how that goes ... see if it makes any difference ...?

Thanks for the encouragement.
