My dd has been put on a 2 week trial of a yeast free diet to see if it has anything to do with her eczema. So bread, buns, rolls, vegimite, mushrooms and pickeled foods are out. Is there anything else I should be looking for in the way of preservatives? And is there any other bread besides mountain bread thats yeast free?
BTW her eczema is already starting to look better after 2 days of skipping bread!
In WA we get Bodhi's Bakery breads that are yeast free (most varieties I think). Not sure if you have them in Vic though?
Watch fruit juices for preservatives and dried fruit too. Preservative numbers to watch out for are:
220-228
280-283
210-213
310-312
319-321
Have you got a copy of Additive Alert? It is a yellow book by Julie Eady on about what is really in food and what to avoid. It's in lots of bookshops etc
Im currently on a yeast free diet too!! There are breads such as buckwheat bread, spelt bread etc (can get them at health food shops and macro). Infact they've got all sorts of different things, so it's good to go in and ask what they recommend. xoxo
Thanks girls, wow i didnt realise how much additives there were to look out for. I will see if I can get that book. And i'll have to pop into a health food store coz i dont think we have that shop here.
