I have dental pain (wisdom teeth), also causing earache, headache and a feeling of inflammation and pain in my throat/glands.
Thankfully it is only on my LHS or I don't think I could cope as I have been clutching my face in agony.
I am booked in on 30 April to have them all out and it can't come quick enough.
Obviously my problem is pain relief in the mean time.
I have been living off frappe's / icey smoothies to ease the swelling it seems to be the only thing that helps.
I am on a dose of Keflex (GP prescribed it) which is supposed to help clear the infection and pain (ear and throat/glands) but the oral surgeon's office said that if it doesn't help by Monday to call them and make another consult and they cn try another anti-b. Personally I have had three days now and I don't think it is helping all that much.
I am really struggling with the pain and am considering pumping and dumping for the next week and a bit so I can get some stronger pain medication.
My heart breaks at the thought, this is the same time I introduced formula to DS and we ended up ceasing BFing at 9.5m. Different circumstances but I think it's all closely related in my head. Anyway, ill survive that or look for EBM.
But I am scared of losing my supply. When DD was born I could pump easily, now that the supply has settled I really struggle to get more than 60-80mls at most. Normally I am lucky to get 30 or so. DD has also been waking anywhere between 2-4 hourly at night (bar 3/3 night of 8 hrs ) and I worry that filling her tummy with something heavier than breastmilk that digests less quickly she may sleep longer therefore aiding the further demise of my supply. Though the idea of sleep is appealing i really want to continue breastfeeding.
If there was any surety of meds helping i would almost do it in a heartbeat but the other thing is that i worry they won't help.
Does anyone have ny thoughts, advice or suggestions? Sorry it sa bit jumbled.
