Blocked Nipple Duct

This morning I noticed a creamy white spot on my nipple. It looks like milk has dried in my nipple. I assume it's a blockage? I managed to get through the feeds today but the last feed it hurt too much, like a tingly burning sensation only on that spot on my nipple. How can I get rid of it? I've tried massaging my nipple while he was feeding on the other side but to no avail...

Laranna, that sounds like what is funnily enough called "white spot". I have heard of some women using a sterilised needle to pierce it, but I am not sure what the recommended remedy is. I would give the ABA 24 hour help line a call, they will be able to tell you.

Thanks MantaRay...it's very sore and I should also add it is tingly/burning even when I am not feeding and especially when I feel my let down reflex as well. Will give the ABA a ring...
