    How

Can i feed comfortably when DS has taken a small (very small) chunk out of my nipple it hurts to freaking bad when i feed him! It looks like a tiny sore there i dont remember him biting me but he does move about a fair bit during some feeds. Otherwise it could possibily be a blood blister? Either way it hurts

Hey, I had holes in both nipples for the first three weeks of feeding, so I totally know what you're going through. I found that nipple shields didn't help me - but that was just me.

What I had to do was express from the most painful side for a few days to let it heal. Then we could resume feeding. Don't know if that is an option for you but it certainly helped. A couple of days did the trick.

The other thing you can try is a different position... if you have him in the football hold for example, it may not hurt as much as he has the nipple in his mouth from a different angle.

I've only just gotten over this myself.... it has taken a few weeks to get over - I tried the shields but he wouldn't have a bar of it!

Otherwise - make sure you're putting something on it in between feeds, like calendula ointment or another type of healing cream.

I would try a different position first, as well as some of the nipple care tips you might remember from the nb stage (expressing a small amount of bm on the nipple and letting it air dry, maybe try lanolin?). Does lying down to feed help at all? It will take a little time to heal, so taking care of your nipple will help the process.
