wow, 3 hrs - is that all just on c.s birth? I kinda wish I'd attended the hospitals' antenatal class which covered c/s, but I wasn't going to have one of those, lol. I was induced and then had an emerg c/s and was so exhausted that I didn't take on board anything the anaesthetist or obs told me beforehand. It was just a blur. Same thing second time around. I tried VBA2C last year and ended up with a 3rd c.s, but had 24 hrs notice beforehand as I got pre-eclampsia. umm, I'd recommend doing a class, but not sure why it's 3 hrs long?
If you do attend the class and they don't mention it - make sure you take high waisted undies so that they don't sit on the wound, afterwards. Make your phone calls to family and friends just before you take the pain meds in the first 24-48 hrs as I found that I was just whacked on them and couldn't hold a conversation for long. I was also pretty adament about weaning myself off the heavy pain meds as early as possible, cos I hated feeling like space cadet. I actually did really well with my third c.s and the obs and midwife even commented on it. I think it was the best out of the three b/c I wasn't totally exhausted going in.
