Woo Hoo! Found out something positive yesterday. I had my stitch and was talking to the nurse in recovery and she said when the baby is born after a c section bub immediately has skin to skin while Mum is being stitched up.. Then Bub goes with middy and Dad while Mum is brought to recovery then as soon as the RN does the OBs bub is again placed skin to skin and fed etc in recovery. Then they all go together to the ward and skin to skin is encouraged again. She said they REALLY encourage skin to skin and breast feeding, and on the maternity ward there are posters EVERYWHERE with the benefits of skin to skin and unrestricted breast feeding. So hoping Button is in my tummy for as long as possible, hopefully I will have this experience too.
Since my heart did so well with my last c section and I had no problems with the procedure yesterday I am really going to fight going to coronary care after Button's C section. I think it is totally unnecessary, and I went straight from recovery to the maternity ward yesterday I don't see why there would be a problem. I will be having the same anaesthetic.. Once again I will ask at my follow up appointment. This Monday I have a booking in appointment, an appointment with my OB, plus I see the medical doctors in relation to my heart, so I will go there big brave and strong ready to plead my case!!!!!
