not all kids go on Youth payments - it is based on parental income and is mostly only beneficial for very low income families - once you go over a certain level of income, it is actually better to keep them on FAO payments as dependents. from january, there will be no youth allowance for under 21's (i think - maybe 18) unless they are deemed independent (those already on youth allowance will stay there)

I didn't realise that you could keep them on FAO payments...they cut me off as soon as she turned 16...or do you mean only from Jan?
