Krystall Ball - i don't understand why prices varyso much either! It's very confusing! I am looking into sending our little fella to preschool next year in Feb when he turns 3. From what i can gather, the community-run ones are the cheapest, around $30-35ish per day during school hours. I am trying to get him into one of those close by to home when i am on maternity leave next year. The childcare centre where he currently goes (full-day long-day care whilst i am still working) want $60 per dayfor their childcare centre.

So, for us, the community-run preschools seems to be the best option (even though you have to provide their lunches etc to take with them).

But it is amazing how much some of the privately-run ones charge!
