You could try arranging with the staff that you'll call ahead and someone will meet you in the foyer and hold DD for a few minutes for you while you observe - usually the staff are very helpful with things like that.
(I remember when my eldest had gotten over chicken pox, but youngest still had it, they were walking her in and out of the centre for me so I didn't have to take infectious junior in!)
