DD has this. She hasn't been around any other kids since daycare last Friday. I just called them and there are no known outbreaks in her room. She has sores around her mouth that look awful although she is fine and happy. I read it is highly contagious so i'm scrubbing my hands all day. Now I have to find someone to watch her for me because I have to work. I'm guessing this is fairly common, but is there anything that is similar to this? The doctor I saw yesterday just sent me home with a steroid cream. But upon googling last night I was sure it was something more so got a second opinion and yes, it's impetigo. I'm just hoping that that's what it really is. Sad when you can't even trust the advice of a doctor these days.
