We had a similar reaction to a virus DD had. We were at the hospital already for asthma follow up apt. The DS's scared the crap out of us. But it turned out to be glands. I hope it's just glands *hugs*

Ultrasound done - 3 massively swollen lymph nodes on one side, very mildly enlarged on other side, no sign of puss etc.

Blood taken (that was interesting with a 2yo) and they're doing tests and a culture now.

They're going to start with oral anti-bs they think.

    They're thinking bacterial infection.

He did actually get a nasty scrape on his knee maybe 2 weeks ago and dirt got in ... maybe we didn't get it all out?

    Could it be that simple?

It could be PN...it's the bodies natural defense to fighting a virus.

Yep hun, it could be that simple.
I would never have thought a bee sting could do it to my DD but strangely it did. She's been stung since and been fine, but I had a mini heart attack!
I hope your DS has a speedy recovery

Hooray for a simple answer! As Lisa said, that can definitely be the cause. My brother's was just from a bad cold that turned into an infection.

Phew! Glad he's ok! This has been a handy thread to follow also- someone mentioned painful lumps in armpits! I've had that a few times during this pregnancy- I never thought to get it seen to =\ it was probably little infected glands. Antibiotics might have cheered me up no end. Aren't bodies just crazy?
