I don't have either of those(And no money to buy them either)
He does the wide mouth, silent gag for about 5 - 10 seconds. It's so scary. Even sitting out here on the computer, I feel like I should be sitting next to his bed incase he can't get it up.Not that I have any idea what I would do if he couldn't. It's not like its a lump of something that can be disloged by turning him upside down.
My poor baby.

an aspirator isn't very exxy. And you can usually hire humidifyers. You can get them at the pharmacy. What about some vicks or eucalyptus oil on a hanky near his head (not too close though as it can be irritating for young children, and not too much vicks either). During the day you could just put a bit of vicks or eucalyptus into a bowl of hot water near where he's playing. Just make sure it is out of reach! If he does choke, lean him forwards and gently pat him on the back. Could you maybe sleep in his room with him, or have him in bed with you, just for peace of mind?
