That would have made my blood boil. Where is the concept of personal choice there? The choices we make for our children are not the equivalent of a school exam. Any choice made about the medical side of our children's future are not taken lightly, and they are always layered with social, emotional and family context.
I would understand doctors wanting to make sure parents are educated, informed and aware of the risks. But beyond that, I would find that extremely condescending.
