To me, all the points you've mentioned under "your position" are the reasons that I would not get it done if I were you. It seems like you are already strongly against it. Like your Mum said, the cleaning issue really isn't an issue! It is not difficult to be a little more thorough in that department at bath time Also, as you mentioned, you would never do such a thing should you have a little girl. That would be outrageous! I honestly can't think of any valid reasons why you should put your son through such an experience, as it certainly isn't a necessity and is purely cosmetic if you're doing it for the fact he will be the same as his father. Also, I'm not sure how the pain and confusion he would be going through during the procedure is even worth just looking like dad? They're going to look a lot different down there for a long while anyway! Just doesn't seem to justify it but thankfully I haven't been in your position but I know it's hard when your partner is adament on one thing and you completely oppose it so I do sympathise. It seems like your DH is getting heaps of persusion from his family also, but in the end it's not their decision, it's his and yours!
