Fluffy mail!!
I got my wool cover (lovelybums), giraffe minky GK + 3 inserts (to make up for the one I didn't order last time, and a spare), cloth wipes & bumgenius spray bum cleaner.
Have very excitedly washed all new stuff and am waiting patiently for it to dry (no hope of sun so am drying them on the rack in the lounge until morning when I'll finish them off in the dryer).
I'm off now to wash & lanolise my wool covers (new & old)...
WOHB - sandman (first time use!) and longies...:crossfingers: am sort of expecting leaks...
Nettie - *snap* DS is wearing a Sandman and longies tonight as well... although we aren't expecting any leaks..
Ooh have to share some good news - DH used cloth nappies on DS the whole time I was in hospital, and did a load of nappies too..... even though I told him for ease that he could just use sposies..
everyone together now.. awww...what a good DH... hehehehe
*stroking the computer screen* Mel its great to have you back on BB.
WOHB: sposie.... DH has decided that with the being up all night new thing that Jovie is doing that it has to do with nappies, so we are back to sposies at night. TODDLERS NEED SLEEP TOO!!!
ETA: FJ... piano's are fantastic, we will be getting one ASA we leave this tiny hole of a house.... We will buy an old piano and "fix it up" sometimes old pianos haven't been treated nicely. Have a visit and borrow or find an old tuner. You can get them at guitar shops etc.... and find out how to use it to see if something is "in tune" play 1 octave (8notes) and see if they are the same frequencies out or on from what they should be.... I hope that makes sense. The other thing is what Nelle said, wait a week until the piano settles and get it tuned properly.
That IS a good DH Mel! If there are sposies in the house, DH uses them
I so hope that my nappies are quicker than expected! I HATE waiting! I am going to try and pick up one of my B4B wins tomorrow though! We will meet in the city at lunch time if I am not sent out of the city for work.
I read the tags on the pockets that still have them, and most of them are able to be thrown in the dryer! :woot: I now have clean DRY nappies! I think we will last MUCH longer now! Might even give CC some nappies every day soon! I also found out that all of my Cushie Tushies can go in the dryer, so we wont have any sposies left in the house in the next few weeks!
WOSB: Sposie - Hurry up nappies!
WOEB: Cushie Tushies Couture with added night booster and home made soaker.
I think it's Disana (at the WeeWuns) that sell overall type things and also sleeping bags for newborns, entirely made out of wool - so i don't see why not.
I've had so much trouble just getting belly belly site to load for me the last week or so. So if i posted and it didn't work, i have longies that i have washed many times, and they still leak dye, so i accept that as buying something that is handmade and hand-dyed. The instrustions advised separate washing, so i do each one in ti's own bucket. That's alright for me with one bub, i can sympathise that is just too much when you have three (+ one cooking ) FJ.
The bilbstar has gastro so i;m putting her in covers with a trifold laid in, something terry closest to the top e.g bamboo terry, hemp terry, with a flannelette liner next to her. I'm washing the MCN items that don't have elastic in them, at 90 degrees. Everything else, i'm washing at 60 degrees. Giving the pockets, AIO's, a rest for now. THe trifolds, boosters, etc are getting a good workout (and our one leg gusset cover esp) and fitteds with terry inners. I'm assuming watery very pretty bright yellow stuff means gastro. She is not interested in even a rice cracker, very lethargic and just wants booby milk all the time. Not even wanting to knock down a tower of building blocks, not like her normal self at all.
I lost a whole post before when the forum crashed grrrrrrrr. Here we go again, but a much shorter version LOL.
Welcome back Mel! Hope it's all going well hun :) I will post your nappy to you ASAP, but can't leave the house ATM cos DS is sick AGAIN! Don't worry, I won't let him near your nappy with his germs. And woohoo, he didn't poo in it either time LOL. I would have thought the pad fold would work well for girls too? I used it on DS from when he was a newbie (5lbs1oz) and honestly, it was the best thing at keeping the poo in. You just have to make sure you tuck the legs in nicely as you fold the front bits around IYKWIM? If that's done well you hardly need a cover! *sigh* I miss using flanny flats, with no snappi or anything. I think I mostly miss having a child lie still for his nappy changes, instead of seeing it as some sort of challenge to frustrate mummy more and more everytime by crawling away :cryinglaugh:
Sal, how are you going?
Bah, my brain just won't work, I think I'm seriously overtired. Off to bed for me now, seeing as it's still early I might even read for a bit, what luxury! (As long as DS stays asleep *touch wood*)
WOHB: BBB
ETA Sorry GIGI missed your post. Poor Bilby, hope she picks up soon. It sounds like it could be gastro, there are some nasty ones going around at the moment apparently. Just watch her wet nappies and keep offering her boob. Yay for booby milk!
Janie - you don't need to hurry sending that nappy back honey, whenever you are finished with it and admiring the colour!!! ;)
I'm going to be using sposies until she stops raising her legs and flinging them around at every nappy change!!!! She HATES having her nappy changed (much like her brother.. )
Will have to try to fold it Sal's way (which was a smaller version of my way anyway ;)) to see how I go. I have a mother-ease cover in a newborn size, so that should be good enough to go over it hey...
Ooooh yeah, Motherease covers are DA BOMB for little newborn legs! You cannot go past them! NEVER had a poo go past one :cryinglaugh:
Just a quickie - Mel - WELCOME BACK HONEY!!
Gigi - kisses to the poor little Bilbster (but no kisses to her bot - staying well away from it). And kisses to her poor mummy who gets to be nurse. No fun for either of you. Hope she picks up right quickly and is back to knocking over huge towers of blocks soon.
That's it - I'm off to bed. His Lord & Master-ship was up most of the night last night and has just gone down, so I'm going to sleep while I can. Nighty night to you all.
WOHB: whizz kidz nightz, bear bottoms MM fleece cover.
KATONES - how to wash MCN?
in general, read the DRYPAILING INSTRUCTIONS at the ozclothnappies website
for particular brands, google that brand, find their website, they will have Care Instructions there. I know for a fact, that baby beehinds have Care instructions on their site, so thorough in fact, that they stipulate HOW to peg them on the line ROTFL. i would put links for you (if only i was allowed).
everyone does it a bit different, depending what sort of washer you might have, what floats yah boat, etc etc. so ask ten people, you'll get ten answers.
me - i'm anally retentive, so i go for the Whole Nine Yards. We have a front loader, it has a Baby Cycle, so i use that. Put one tablespoon of Omo Sensitive in the PreWash drawer, one tablespoon of omo sensitive in the Wash Drawer, nothing in the fabric conditioner drawer, press start and walk away. the baby cycle is prewash, wash and medical rinse. real slow, like two hours, but nice n gentle.
when loading up the machine, i put the aplix stuff in one wash bag - don't trust aplix not to stuff up other mcn. Put malden mills fleece MCN in one bag to keep it nice. Put any black nappies in a wash bag so i don't get black lint over light coloured MCN. but i am a fussy cow, so don't worry if you don't do all this. (i only have one bub).
and try real hard to keep any HAND KNITTED WOOL ITEMS separate from the washing machine. it's so easy to SHRINK wool, but harder to UNSHRINK wool. Sing out if you want help for lanolising woollies.
GUDISM - yeh to your DH for using MCN while you were in hospy. Congrats again sweetie.
Folding flats for newborn XX - there's a uk website called THE NAPPY LADY - that's my best bet for you. For the meconium, i would lie in some microfleece liners, let THEM take the worst of the mucky stuff. at that stage, i was just darn grateful for the leg gusset covers, that saved me many a messy cleanup. Hallelujah for whoever invented those!!
MAZ - can i join your "envious of the knitters" club too? LOL Some of us just can't read a knitting pattern to save ourselves! I'm more of an "appreciator".
AJP - can you really get GREEN kala cups? i have aqua and purple, green sounds good too.
Gigi's bargain roundup - Imse Vimse soft PUL covers for $20 at NN -in size small (5-8kg) - wonderful for pootainment.
Well i got a email from IB today. They said they havent processsed my order yet. Even though i paid with instant payment (paypal) on monday morning :( So those of you who have received your orders already- lucky you!!!! :P
I tried to up load a pic of my soaker i am knitting for you all to see but it wont let me - it says te gallery has ben upload but then it is not there... so no idea.. might try again later.
Both still sick here :( Hope dimetapp doesnt ruin MCn's
PP - did they say why they haven't processed your order yet, that's weird.
Hey all!
I had a fantastic time last night, was so good to be able to get out.. we got to the show early so popped into the casino and had a flutter on the pokies.
David Strassman is so funny!!!! loved it.
exH used sposies all night, manly cause i didnt trust him to put on the night nappies properly.
PP- grr on the IB... hope it arrives soon.
Gigi- hope bilby gets better soon
oh and **** i have been flat out lately and didnt have the chance to fold my 6 baskets of washing.. exH did them last night.. he never folded washing while we were together but now he does it€? WT?
NESS typical man!! glad you enjoyed your night out!!!
Gigi no its a purple cup with green lid!!!
sez, hows DS today?
WOHB blueberry!
Sounded like a good night ness!
They said that it would take 3-5 days to process all the sale orders.... so hopefully i should get them by end of next week :(
So looks like my fluffly mail week is over lol... but excited to have some of the new large BBH wool covers to try out.
WOHB - Baby Cheeks Pocket
Well I washed & lanolised my wool covers last night - they're hanging to dry now. The instructions I received with the latest cover said to add a drop of baby shampoo to the lanolin water - do the rest of you do this? I forgot so I hope it's not going to make a big difference...
Also - do the barrier creams also stop the microfibre working? What do they do, make it waterproof?? I might start using the disposable liners whenever I use a barrier cream...
WOHB - happy heiny
Oh! - welcome home Mel! The longies/sandman didn't leak, but DH had to change it at 5 am because of doodies... he usually saves them for me, so DH was so proud to havecaught one!!
Nettie - our sandman and longies didn't leak either - I freakin love longies.. I'm in heaven..
Oh, and I didn't add any shampoo to my water when lanolising? I just did them all the same way as instructed on the baby beehinds site.
Bea - that sounds like a fantastic night!!! Glad you got out and about..
Gigi - thanks for the tip as usual!! the meconium has stopped - but its the yucky yellow mustard type poos now - YUUUUCK!!!!
WOAB: Sposie (day care)
WOMB: Sposie (but might try a flat today.. )

Hi girls!
Sandmans on Ebay $39 no postage :) They are large though....
Just got me a rainbow sidesnapping sandman! lol Hope the bloody thing fits!
Anyway, I still feel like crud but Charloote still looks like crud but is making a valiant effort to still get up at 8 am, even after having been awake most of the night, and is sooo tired, but is refusing to sleep yet....hopefully our morning nap isnt to far away and I can get some sleep too! lol
DF is back last night, plane delayed by 2 and a half hours!!!!! Damned Qantas. And the flight is only an hour long anyway!!! Happens every week. But this week I had a sick baby in the car at the the friggin airport for 2 hours! Anyway, so he slpet in the spare rom last night just ot make sure he got some sleep cos Charlotte was in with me....and he is still asleep!! lol lucky for some ;)
anyway!
PP - glad to hear you got your IB confirmation!! Iwas beginning to worry about you going postal on us ;P
WOHB: sposie....But the rash is gone!!! yay!!
Where is my IB? :( I was so sure it would come today, but so far NADA, and in my experience that means it's not happening today. Methinks I need to be nicer to my postie ;) And you know what, I'm working tomorrow, so DH will get home first, which means I can't smuggle it in DAMN! I'm hoping for Monday now.
WOHB: BBH
Hello Sal-the-milk-machine! WOW 250g at her age is really good, well done  You must be feeling very happy about that! Do you have any nappies in particular on your shopping list?
That's grouse PP! You might get it tomorrow (or Monday), since you're in Brissie, and I'm pretty sure IB is in Newcastle.
Never mind Sez, it will build your character. So you will be able to say 'I'm a better person now than Mo, who got express post'. :P (jk Mo)
Well, both my boys are in bed. Yay. And I have a load of washing on. About to check the mail, and wander around til my bestie comes over at 1:30. Not bad for a family that got up after 10! (well, not Rans, but if you don't tell him how much we slept in, I won't tell your partners about ALL your fluffy mails! :P)
Hope all our preggies are feeling good, all our mummies are getting sleep, and all our ttc'ers find success (and have fun in the process). :D
WORB: Large BerryPlush
WOSB: What else? Tots Bots with Motherease Rikki cover. :P
(Oh which reminds me, Rans put Si to bed in a stuffed BumG pocket with Tots Bots cover overtop! Too cute! At least it didn't leak, and he followed my mantra for him - if in doubt, put a cover on! :cryinglaugh:)
THanks Nelle!
Well yes Ashley is asleep as well. GOing to try to finish my soaker.. yay!!
She has the new large BBH wool cover on ... so praying for no leaks
Hey anyone know how to get stains out of the old style Magicalls?
PP, um, SUN?! Sorry, can't really help beyond that
Nelle, yep, it's character building. Love the cover over the BG, he's super-keen, hey? Good work :) Hope you're having fun with your bestie! Hearing that makes me miss mine, she's in Canada AND HAS NEVER EVEN MET DS! It's almost 2years since she left, and she was meant to come back in time for my baby shower.....clearly that didn't happen :(
Janie - at this stage flanny flats, and whatever will fit a skinny NB, she only weighs 2.8 kg
WOHB - flat, with a berry plush shell as a cover
 It's true, if you can wait longer than a day your a better person than me lol
PP-Glad you finally got your IB confirmation e-mail.
Sal- That's great weight gain for Maddison.
WOHB: Bubblebubs
Yeah, 2.8kg, I reckon flanny flats are the go Sal LOL. There will be plenty of time for MCN down the track ;) My DS was 2.3kg, and although we used flats only for the first 6 months, I'm sure MCN wouldn't have fitted him until 12 weeks anyway.
i swear!!!!! as soon as Mateauz gets a new nappy on he shiats in it. this time it was his minkeee BBH which i might add is SO LUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i know Maz the BBH minkees are soooo devine i just want my bub here now to put it on him and just pat his butt all day long...
Hubby was even rubby them on his face last night saying how lush they are.
Damn it 9 more week sto go :D then we shall have our bubba here...tis taking too long :(
No fluffy mail here today, although i did get an email saying my Itti bittis were on their way :D
hey guys for anyone interested i have just listed my choc small snap in dlish on B4B
no longer fits MJ :(
ETA- cancel that, sold already!!
Fluffy Mail!
My replacement LJ ALREADY! talk about service! Also a Blue Berry sheepish grins spray ( do I have to soak the wool or just a light spray will do??)
Also my order from snaps australia, just sets of snaps & SIX meters of PUL LOL
Okay girls, just thought I'd post a reminder here.... just that there is a separate area to put your auctions links up on BB. Lets keep this thread free from those links, you can point girls in that direction but keep this thread free from that. This thread shouldn't be about what we are selling, but about what we are buying!!! ;)
okay, now for my post... Sorry Maz!!! I went to buy something off her classifieds & didn't check sizes  life has been too busy over here.
havent been in here like forever.... ope your all going well... I'm using all of Indah's nappies on Zyon, imagine all those wsted binned sposies hey!!!
Zy is 1 bow & walking (running) everywhere, I have no idea what iused to do with my days they whizz past & before I know it, I'm off to work!!!
Right now I'm off to bed though!
Great to see you Tracey! Hope you're all well :)
Pink - Dimetapp hasn't done anything to our MCN's. But we must be strange, cos antibiotics dont do anythign to our MCN's either. But petroleum based nappy rash creams - yeh - they do the damage - so if you use those, make sure you also use separate liners e.g cut up bits of microfleece etc. to protect your MCN.
Nessa - woot for your Most Excellent Night Out - go Ted E Bear!!!!
and how excellent to come home to six washing baskets folded up! about time he did something decent for you! i realise timing sucks.
Nettie - i don't know anythign about baby shampoo in regard to lanolising. The instructions i got only talked about wool wash and lanolin.
Limey - who makes SIDE SNAP Sandmans??? is that new?
What a nightmare your pickup at the airport turned out to be - PITA.
Hi Tracey, when i think of your lovely Zy, i imagine him toddling around with dragonflies on his butt! ha ha
bilbstar is almost betterer - today i really got it together organising the Gastro MCN stash - when she had it the worst - i was too unwell myself to think clear enough to do this - typical me! so organised - at the wrong time!!!! I even got out all the old cotton prefolds that we never used at nb stage (cos idiot here bought them the size too big). They are so darn bulky, that i needed a size bigger cover for the size she is now (10kg). But i needed to change her at 9.30am this mornign (wet nappy) and then - not until 4.30pm this afternoon (wet nappy) so now i'm worried about her hydration. At least she was interested in sharing a muffin with me this afternoon. All she has wanted is (what seems like ) nonstop booby juice the last few days. so you'd THINK she'd have plenty of wet nappies, i suspect it's more comfort feeding than true drinking.
MAZ - did you buy that POLY PUL cowprint happy heiny at the weewuns? i didn't realise there was both a cotton pul and a poly pul cowprint version. Hope you will put up pix of all this cowprint stuff when it arrives (plus the stuff i bet you will make!!). I'm not into animal prints but it tickles me how much the rest of you are!
Skittlebub - sounds like you have a splurge about to happen, have fun! Are the terry flats bulky on your bub? Do you have any contours or foldups? i reckon they would be trimmer on her (under a nb cover). If i still had my contours, i would send them to you. I looked up all the premmie size covers for someone else last night, darn it. Press post, never see it again.
SUSE - how was your festival?
Hi Queenie! Hi Melham!
WOTBB: Lotus Night Nappy with Gigi bumjumper from lavendar jumper.
If all goes according to plan my Huge nappy order should be posted on Monday! That means I should have it by Friday!! :woot:!!! No More Sposies!!!! They are still in sposies @ CC though so I guess they only use cloth part time but it helps my budget!
