thanks ladies regarding the suggestions with the wingdroop. I 've only noticed it a couple of times, not every time she wears them. I hope they will be ok as a nappy for us, cause I have 10 of them!

Kitt3n do your nappies have the black tags or the white ones? The newer ones have black tags and from memory they are a bit stiffer than the older white tags. Ruby hasn't worn any with black tags as yet. We have some but they are medium sized. I'm a bit worried now cos I stocked up on them at the expo.

Jols I did flats at the hospital that they supplied and used Maz-a-licious covers that DH took home to wash.

Maz banger has been booted out the laundry door. I thought I might donate it but DH wants to take the drum out of it for an outside fire place. He is a dead set bogan :rolleyes:
I'm a bit sad to see it go after 15 years of faithful service but it was a temperamental thing. I'm going to miss the sound of it vibrating it's way across the laundry floor...NOT!

Heidi I used cloth camping. Got a bit whiffy in that bag by the third day but it was really easy. FWIW I would have had to take my rubbish with me so would have had to cart sposies home if I used them so it was no big deal. Nappies were the first things washed, then the kids were ;)

Kellie wing droop can be a pain but I don't think it causes leaks. Well not in our experience. I haven't had it with ittis on Caleb but have with others.

It was the Daily telegraph that came out yesterday. I haven't seen the paper yet but the online artical hasn't got my kids inthe photo :(
BUT we just got back fromt he hall where we had both channel 9 & 7 come up to do a story on it LOL, Evan for sure should be on the channel 9 news & possibly myself on 9 & 7. I doubt channel 7 though as I was breastfeeding Iain while they interviewed me & they kept it short & sweet. I think they felt a bit funny about my BFing but I just left him there & said I didn't have a problem feeding him on camera.
The intereviewed 2 other mums so I thinkt hey will use them over me. But Channel 9 should use at least a little of me.
We also have 2 radio stations doing a interview on it also. AND it was mentioned on sunrise apprently LOL.

raven - they are the black tags, if you run your finger under the waist you will see what i mean ... i think i will send them some email feedback, not really happy about it....

FJ we usually watch 9 news so hopefully they will show it. Quite often they do general storeis of interest from other states so you never know!

Kitten have sussed out the tags and you're right, they are quite scratchy :( Was chatting to Maz about them and we are in agreeance if you remove the tags it could cause a lot of harm to the nappy as it is in both the seam and the top stitch, as well as affect your resale value. I think you should email them about it because if it's a problem for you then it may be for others and they might want to rectify that!

Speaking of ittis I got my itti fluffy mail before. I got 2 boos and 2 dlish seconds which were only seconds due to old tags (interesting after that conversation I think) and one other dlish. I also go two snap in sets too as they were buy one get one free.

Kellie- i got a tip from NC about wingdroop, works a treat. Do up the first snap on the snap furthest out on the wing and then do the second snap up where it is a good fit.
It puts a fold in the nappy but sits fine for us and stops the droop. FWIW i only get wing droop when i use large b/c i think they are too big for DD, doesn't happen with medium and she is over 10kg's. i think she'll be in mediums for a while yet.

AJP- The hossy i was in for DD supplied flats and i took in covers, was awesome having someone else wash them and bring in fresh ones! ;)

Kitt3n, this didn't happen to us at nb stage, but later on, but MIGHT be relevant for you, i was advised to pat dry baby's bottom AFTER doing the bottom cleanup (with a dry facewasher), to make sure bottom is entirely dry BEFORE ptuting next nappy on. When it was super hot and we had massive rolls of chub, i had to dry it all out with baby powder also (Gaia - which is cornstarch based).

this may not be your situation, or you're already doing it, but i can't help myself, i just HAVE to mention this, JIC it might have a chance of helping your bub.

yesterday i cut out a pattern with the intention to try out sizing but ended up stitchin it up by hand! i was only muckin ard but ended up with a nappy LOL. it was only made with some crappy tshirt material scraps so not sure how it'll withstand pee, it has 7 layers as the internal so any ideas? im unfamiliar with covers, but u think if i make a fleece cover it'll work good together? cant wait to get the machine from mums so i can start making REAL nappies hahaha

if my microfibre inserts r startin to come apart, it shouldnt affect its performance right?

gigi - thanks hun :) am doing that already. she also gets as much time as possible before putting nappy back on, often i blow on her lil butt for ages too and she loves it. have had hr in bbh's all night with paw paw and that seems to have helped, so now....

when hanging out nappies this morning one of the bum g inserts is starting to come apart from the overlocked stitches, ALREADY! grrrrrrrrrrrrr... anyone else had this problem? I am hoping its just a one off. Should i keep using it or get it fixed first?
