Quick - someone inform me! How long does it take for a disposable to break down? I can't find the information!
Gee, I go away for a bit and three threads later... I'm completely lost! And all these new and gorgeous MCN getting hyena'd, I can't bear it! need vs want, it's too much!
Arimeh, I'm soooo annoyed I couldn't come meet up with you while I was up in Qld. My mum's stupid car broke down the day we borrowed it to go to the beach and we ended up stuck on the side of the Bruce Highway on a 38 degree day with a poo-spolsion in a HH leaking everywhere! Couldn't go anywhere for the rest of our stay, so I didn't get to go visit any of my friends.I hate Daewoos.
As for sposies... I think it takes forever to break down. Or somewhere close to it. NN website has all that info I think.
So, if I have a moster baby ~ I mean DS ~ who wont lie still on the change table and insists on rolling onto his tummy, is it bad of I put his nappy on back to front?? Just the once? I mean, he just would not stop kicking me in the BBs every time I tried to turn him over, and it's impossible to find straightjackets in size 1 (I've looked)... it kinda stopped him ripping it off so soon as well, since he's figured out velcro now, and it was too hot for clothes that day!
Ooh, and what is it with bubs pooping in night nappies?? Big, stinky teething poops... TMI?! it's gross. And at 4:30am too. Night before last I had to change DS's night nappy twice in half an hour, once coz he pooped in it 5 minutes after getting it on him, and again 10 minutes later coz the ammonia-stinky wee was peeling the paint off the walls. Bless him, the teeth just keep coming one after another.
WOHB: Blueberry
grey minkee...are your gonna applique elephants Maz?
There very few medium starbunz, i did get a ducky but other one I got is in small. I figure its cute and even if it fits bub for a few weeks will get some nice picks and someone with a smaller bub will get some use out of it
mel - i thought they never broke down completely?
Mel - In 1999 it was estimated that using an average of six nappies a day over two and a half years produces around 734 kg of solid waste per child. Multiply that by the number of babies born in Australia each year and that's a lot of disposables taking up space in landfill. In fact, 800 million disposable nappies are used in Australia every year, which amounts to 111,220 tonnes of solid waste. This requires 145,000 cubic metres of land fill area. That's roughly 8000 nappies for just one baby, which can take anywhere from 75-500 years to break down!

Mel- i don't think they ever break down????? i think i have read 500 years, but how would anyone know..... i guess it is a guesstimate!

Thanks guys..I just put 500 years down (I'm writing something VERY important ya see - nearly need my reading glasses on.. hmm.. probably SHOULD be wearing them)
Gotta go get baby up.

yes, weird for a chick that works in a call centre - but i HATE making calls!
lol me too. its weird huh. i am worse if I get an answering machine, I tend to hang up instead of leaving a message
lol.. I'm a secretary and i hate making phone calls. I like to ring a number that they most likely won't answer (ie, home number during the day) so I can leave a message that they ring me back. I'm fine if they ring in.. but hate ringing them!! lol
Yup I'm weird.
