Hmm well Kat has a secret at the bottom of her sig, maybe?? Or Lets send STICKY VIBES to MelBel!!!

Gogo Mel, In HH's the tabs meet in the middle on Em. She is very skinny. I think she has had a growth spurt without putting much weight on, considering she runs everywhere now.

Kitt3n, I have a gorgeous Mommy's Touch pocket with elephants all over it. I dont know why I dont use it all that much. Would you like it?

VERY disappoint with my first peep-o experience!
Placed an order of some covers and a medium nappy...a beautiful annpy too! Called "faded blooms" - what a top name for a nappy! lol
Anyway, placed the order fine, and then I get an email from her saying that the nappy was oversold!! WTF?? I know it is a cart problem, the nappy had apparently been sold hours earlier and the quantity had not been changed - apparently. She didnt even suggest another nappy or let me know when any more nappies would be available (as it was pretty much the only medium left)...not happy jan!

Thankfully the iishfly order went through properly, so the afternoon wasnt a complete bust! lol

    OK, rant over now!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAZ!!!

    Willow - congratulations!

Nana and Maz - i totally understand the travelling in the heat thing, i would have loved to have met you too

    Anna T
with night nappies, it's jsut like day nappies

a fitted nappy needs a cover (cos on a fitted nappy, the outer is made from non-waterproof material)
a pocket nappy already has a waterproof outer, so no cover needed
a all in one already has a waterproof outer, so no cover needed

day or night, it's the same thing

Alioops - how typical the cyclone warning comes, AFTER your dh leaves!

Us: we spent Sat/Sun and Mon in Melb, visited MIL each day, so strange to see her plugged into so many tubes and machines, she hasn't eaten for so long, she is literally skin and bones, looking like an anorexic teenager, no strength to even move. going in and out of reality, but she was happy to meet bilby, said to me "you must be so proud of her". We have no idea whether she'll leave ICU (for rehab) or not.

I got to meet the lovely Wardygirl and her three gorgy kidlets, i think Wardygirl gave me enough hugs for ALL you Melb girls! she is The Cuddle Queen! we had a lovely airconditioned time in a pub with a kids area, just a smokescreen so we could have cheesecake and cold drinks LOL. Wardygirl spoilt us totally with two lovely blankets with BILBIES on them, absolutely gorgeous!!! Screenprinted by a wonderful arty person who drew the bilbies, cannot get over this! Tried to take photos of bilby and Wardygirl's DS2 but they kept on crawling/running away, so i got Fluffy Butt photos instead ha ha - totally appropriate for this thread!!

I am still smiling, remembering our Meetup of Two, it was so cool to meet WG. I know if the weather was different, and i had been able to give you all more than two seconds notice, i might have gotten to meet a whole lot more of you.

Melbourne had a thunderstorm on the Monday morning, so dh and i raced bilby out to stand in the rain, SOOOOO exciting to see adn smell rain. bilby giggled, she has seen so little rain, i dont' know she really understands or recognises what it is.

BRIGSY - what happened with the fire?
    is your house ok?
    are you ok?

RHYB - glad you're out of hospital and that's great your grandma is there to help you. i know you want to do mummy stuff, but you will, just a bit later, when you're feeling more up to it.

QUEEN - we lurve the Foggo bottles too, the sippy cup and the toddler bottle - keeps the water icy for 12 hours! no more hot water in the car! bilbs adores it. well, she drinks it happily, so i join the dots LOL.

RHODA - MiZ Peep-o is such a nice person, she must be having a bad day, not like her at all. i am very sad to hear that Peepo is closing down.

BEATRIX - are you moving house?

MISSY - fleece or minky outer nappies, can have HIDDEN PUL layer. (to make it waterproof).

a FITTED nappy would not have a polar fleece outer, but it could have a micro fleece INNER.

go to the bits for bots site and look at the listings, maybe you will see something similar to what you bought 2nd hand. if not, email the bits for bots website, describe what you got, and maybe Donna can help you out.

    market place

anyone after minky ai2's that are trim in the crotch - have a looksee on the Dragonflymagik site

anyone after OSFA aplix clsoing pocket nappies - seconds up on the ozebaby site, under Greenkids. good deal, it's two pockets and two inserts.

Kitten - like you, i only used the baby powder (cornstarch) when bilby had three rolls of fat on each thigh, the "creases" seemed to be permaently wet and sweaty, so i put powder there to dry it out.

but very interesting to read your explanation Limey, i'm glad i didn't put the powder anywhere else on her bottom.

    wotbb: KK AIO
    all in one night nappy
so it doesn't need a cover, cos AIO's are sewn using a waterproof outer.

the only ones that need a cover, are the FITTED night nappies.

    hope that helps you AnnaT

Ok, the stash not including cotton prefolds and terry flats currently stands at 65 in the house. Some of that is smalls, mediums, larges and bamboo prefolds. But mostly OSFA. I know there will be more to come, there are new prints in the second week of march provided all is well so i will be buying them!!! And I am stalking Blings at the moment.

welcome back Gigi! so glad you had a nice weekend (albeit it VERY hot) in Melbourne!

will just update here on the fire situation - it hit the outskirts of town last Friday only a few hours after i left (pretty much as DH and my bro and SIL got out) - it was horrible. 30 homes lost between here and the next big town along (not that it's big kwim) - about 70 sheds, 10 cars. it is just a wasteland. the two fire fronts joined just before it hit town, so it was huge, came up through the plantation land that lays a bit over a km behind our house. crested the peak of the hill out the back, and took out all but three houses on the road just outside of town (i see it from my back door) - the houses on either end of the street are still there, and one in the middle - everything else is just completely gone. the front halted just outside of town (like maybe 600m from here) when it hit the creek/wetlands - the front just had no where to go. embers flew everywhere and we ended up losing a large patch of our bottom block (prolly near a quarter) from a spot fire - no damage to fences or gardens though.

another spot fire caught in bushland near our cemetary - i think they must have waterbombed the cemetary as not a single plot or plague is damaged even though there was grass fire out there. that fire came to within 15 houses of our place, but was kept in the bushland and no homes were damaged at all from that one.

the fire bugs still haven't been caught, and yesterday lit yet another fire locally - thankfully everyone is being hyper vigilant and it was located and extinguished quickly. as of last night, the fire was listing as contained - the total burnt land is 6385 hectares.

on a nappy note - my big bro and my DH decided to get all of Gremlins stuff out when they were evacuating, so everything was taken to my bro's house for safety - their thought being that our stuff is replacable - they knew i'd feel blah and not go looking for nappy stuff again if her stuff was destroyed! so very cute!! it all came home again today, and i got all teary! it was amazing to feel so overwhelmed by having it all back at home again

Mummytummy and Kat - loosen your covers babes you dont have to have them so tight...I have issues with chunky thighs atm cause his IB are doing the same so I just loosened the setting and hey all gone.

Ive got a wiff.......someone's pg again................
done that now maz...must have been a night of bubba brain...coz i never do them up tight..just those 2 times...

DEFINATLY not me preggers unless a little spermie has figured out another way round to an egg...coz my tubes are blocked (surgically) and Jack was an IVF bubba...

thanks for all the positive thoughts girls! the heat and broken sleep was probably the cause for it being up on monday, but back again next tuesday to make sure its still ok!

I better not let DH see this thread and find out how many nappies you all have, he may change his mind about going cloth lol!

Yeah Gigi but this one has nothing but 2 layers of fleece. There is no pul in the middle. I think that means it's a fitted... silly me! No wonder it was 'leaking'

LOL missy now you know why it is leaking
BUT correct me if i am wrong..but if you put 2 layers of fleece together it will leak won't it?? it will repel the water and not soak it up..as a fitted would...
    Anyways...
Mel i hope the moogoo starts working soon for Aricyn
