Winter, Most of my stash is Cushie Tushies. The coutures have 6 layers of Bamboo and the Basix have 4 layers. Personally I love them.

so here I was, quietly surfing nappy sites, hoping I'd find a treasure that had been released and was just waiting for me to snaffle up. Anyway I was checking out Maz's previews as DH wandered through so I showed them to him. He thought the Kung Fu panda was gorgeous and said I have to make the most of my nappy buying cause Ty's our last so he wont be in nappies for ever.

So I interpret that as "go ahead and shop whilst you've got a baby in nappies to buy for"

Now all I need to do is get myself some 2up, some WC bling, a OOAK from GD, Some beetlebums and anything else anyone recommends. Guess i've just gotta be in the right spot at the right time!

Well guys my surgerys on the 9th of March and I cant wait to get this over with. Im so proud of my nana keeping ds in cloth the whole time. The best part of my hospital stay was when she brought me the clean nappies to fold and stuff so she could use.

Alioops - what is being valued?

all the QLD girls - i hope you are all safe from the flooding i see on tv

    MissyMoo
there is ABSORBENT fleece e.g hemp fleece, bamboo fleece, that fitteds can be made out of
there is WATER REPELLANT fleece e.g polarfleece double layer, malden mills fleece single layer.
depends which sort of fleece your nappy has as an outer.
bits for bots does some malden mills fleece pockets (they would have MM fleece as outer, adn microfleece as inner). They also do night pockets that are FITTED pockets, outer layer is absorbent material, therefore you need a cover with those.

truly, i would take a photo, email it to Donna at bits for bots, and ask her to help you ID them.

QUEEN - darling, how frustrating for you. argh! i empathise with you. I remember the thgouths going thru my head, in Jan 08 (last heatwave) when bilby had Worst Nappy Rash Ever, and i had thoughts like "will we have to change to sposies now"? going thru my head. i am so thankful that the online hints i was given, worked to solve the rash dilemna. I tried so many things, i never really narrowed it down to ONE thing that made the difference, i was too busy trying as many things as i could. But cyber hints are not always 100%, so sorry it's not working for you hon.

AnnaT - i had a few malden mills pockets, to use as night nappies in the small size and a Honeyboy AIO from 5kg onwards. (Note: these were the only non leg gusset nappies that did the job on bilby at that age). bilby fed every two hours so didn't really need night nappies, but what can i say, i was nesting like mad before she arrived! I wanted to be prepared in case she DID sleep longer. (wishful thinking).

i was surprised how quickly her wee output increased though, by only a few months old, she outwet baby beehinds fitteds with both boosters.

Winter - are you after the Motherease OSFA bamboo for a newborn? or an older bub? i found the crotch width way too wide for my newborn and even when she was older too. Crotch width is one of those things you only work out when your bub arrives. Many nappy brands cater for wide crotch style, i eventaully worked out i had a baby with a narrow crotch, so sold off all our wide crotch nappies adn only bought narrow crotch style from then on. (I worked it out when bilby was one year old, i was rather "slow" - kept hoping eventually they would fit her right, kept thinking i was doing something wrong with how i put them on my child, plus i didn't want to get rid of our lovely mcn, but when i did, that was the best thing i ever did, cos then i was just left with mcn that actually DID suit and fit her nicely, instead of half that fitted, half that didn't).

Wardygirl - i will keep my PANDA radar primed for you! LOL.

    and Kitten - elephants heh?

Falguni - hope you will post action shots of the BB AI2;s

BRIGSY - SO GLAD YOU ARE SAFE!!! I bet it was emotional, coming home, realising how close you had come to losign your home, thinking of your neighbours who weren't so lucky, no wonder you felt emotional bringing the mcn (and yourself) back home.

bilby was in a two hour creche today, with a lovely community centre worker who did her best with side snap mcn, but did them up too loose, so we had a dreadful poo everywhere inside her shorts type experience. i am so unused to having leaks, lucky i am paranoid and always carry a spare set of clothing! but cleaning it all up with baby wipes - ugh - so much easier at home with the cloth wipes.

    wotbb: KK AIO

last night i typed out a post about "using mcn for three day holiday" and cyberspace gobbled it all up, it was meant for you Teru! i am still sooking about that.

Well guys my surgerys on the 9th of March and I cant wait to get this over with. Im so proud of my nana keeping ds in cloth the whole time. The best part of my hospital stay was when she brought me the clean nappies to fold and stuff so she could use.

Rhyb: is that ok with you that your nanna brought in the mcn to fold?
or were you GLAD that she did that?
Your Nana sounds fantastic to me, i just hope you were well enough to be foldign and stuffing (that it didn't tire you out too much).

Gigi, Today was the dryest day we have had for a week or so. Anna got flooded into her suburb. The pot holes are ENORMOUS right now!!! Most people aren't driving any more than necessary because you almost have to toot when you come across them to make sure there is nothing at the bottom!! Our house is for sale hun, to investors only and there is a prospective buyer who wanted a valuation to be done.

QM, What is DD eating? Usually Em will rash faster when she is having a reaction.

Totally OT, But I can see Leah moving from the outside now!! She is doing somersaults!!

Well I better go, having MG at 9:30 and then I have to figure out the best way to get to the RSPCA with the normal way closed due to flooding (It is further up the main road that we have to use, but the river closes the road not far up from our place, so I have to go the long way around) And I need to find a butcher who will sell me cheap offcuts to feed the dog!!

ali - i hope they fix those roads for you, not good for your car!

gigi - yes i am elepahnt mad! getting a custom from iishfly (with the same little elephant as the one you got BG!!) ... a lilac minkee, with a baby pink elephant with grey ears and feet, its embroidered "dont forget" and at the bottom it will have matisse's date of birth so happy!!!

queen mab - just putting thoughts out, but do you use cloth wipes? this might be better if youarent already trying, alternatively i have just started giving silk liners a run, and they are great. little m had nappy rash yesterday morning, but to test them out i popped them into her nappies without any creams/lotions, and the nappy rash is now completely gone. I got myself a m'ini wetbag to keep next to the LS, so the silk liners go in there (seperate wash to the mcn) and then i'll just chuck em in the machine on the hand wash cycle. Definately going to get more, but i think i;ll just get soem silk and see if i can get it overlocked.................

wardy/winter - i have 5 cushie tushies and they are so very very cute. leg holes are still a wee bit big on little m at the moment (cant do the nb fold on her anymore ali, too tight around her belly) but i am sure they will fit better as she gets just a bit bigger. maybe another month..... but the cord one fits great, the minkee ones wil soon i expect.

falguni/ls - thanks for the b4b info. i just dont wanna wait, its bling and an embroidered BP you see!!!

kat - what an awesome hubby. Just awesome Give him a kiss fom all us mcn freaks

Now who is the naught person who brought beetle bums to my attention? And why have they bee brought ot my attention seeing as they are sold out??? ARGH they look lovely, must have!!!! IF anyone sees any around please keep me in mind... that is if you dont grab it yourself.

Waiting on fluff today - hopefully my lou lou one will come, its a frilly red nappy tooo cute!! I asked DH if i could order it, he says "do you need it honey?" .......... deh i think to myself, i am addicted to mcn, of course i NEED it! I will do a nappy count today.............

Aw Queen hun I hear your frustration. For us it meant

Using only cloth wipes, the store brought gave him red
Washing in ONLY water and sun drying. No powder, detol, ANYthing (even soap nuts were no good)
Using Bottom Balm if ANY red came up
Using powder if his bum was damp or looking agrivated
Using ONLY natural inners, no fleece/suede/micro anything. Bamboo velour liners in every nappy (even my ittis )

Since then we haven't had any red, unless I forget to line a nappy or don't have a liner clean, then he gets red straight away (I am talking 5 minutes)

So have you tried all these things?

QM - could it be the dettol? Just a thought.

Im good here Gigi hun Apart from the roads falling apart like Ali said the rain has stopped for now which is good cause its kindy day for Jett and shopping day for Rip and I - our little mama-son bonding time. We arent flooded in anymore but its chaos to get anywhere (well it was yesterday for Dh, a 20min drive to work took 1.5hrs *eek*). Im so bored I am going to brave the roads to shops lol

Poor Jetts been unable to wear his sandman to bed cause he had some swelling and redness issues with his willy soooooo its been sposies (wah) for nighttimes. Its clear now and he wore MCNs all day yesterday with no flare up so hopefully it was just something making his wee acidic. Ripley trialed our Very Baby fitted w/ Maz cover last night - fabbo job

Dh said yes to some moogoo too, he's all for trying new creams for stuff as he gets chapped hands from work.

Anywho I had better shower and pack kindy bag etc otherwise itll start raining again before I leave the bloody house

maz - there are TWO types of Cowhide PUL happy heiny pockets available

there is the cotton laminated PUL one
    and the poly PUL one

the poly PUL one is a safer bet i am told.

also you can get some HH pockets with aplix AND snaps. so take note of which little box to tick when you chose closures.

    snaps and aplix
    or
    aplix only

there is HH in OSFA and also sizes.

ALIOOPS - i am glad you are not going to be househunting, when i say "valuer", i was worried you would have to move again.

EEk.. I lurrve my ittis - but not when explosive teething toddler poo is involved.

Poor Miss M's brand new walker.... I had to scrub it out for her - thanks Aricyn.

Still haven't counted my nappies. I think I'm hesitating for good reason.

WOAB: Another itti. Figure its safe since he has made his chocolate one be chocolate on the inside as well as the outside.
    WOMB: Itti.

on that note - fluffy mail! loulou frilly red bum, cute

wohb- fresh organic loveybum/loveybum wool crepe cover
