SamiH...me...it was try different ones to see which worked for Jack...the ones that didn't work so well for Jack are back ups...didn't buy any more of them...or i sold the ones that didn't work on...so i could buy more of ones that do work.... also i think it is variety aswell...different nappies, different thicknesses etc...for under clothes etc...

Ditto Lime Sam. I have days where stuffing nappies or using fitteds+covers is way beyond my effort requirements so all-in-ones are my nappy of choice, other days its fitteds and covers, we have certain brand nappies just for daycare etc etc Mostly though its just for the fun of having all different types, colours, textures lol

Might have to get me some more Cushie coutures, they are awfully nice to touch

Well hopefully i will get my Maz cover i picked up at Millaruby... andi will be exitedly awaiting my other maz stuff... also should get the Lou lou then thursday i will pay for my layby and the following week will be another good fluffy week,...

I have just taken off my first CT couture (choc with green spots *ahhhh*) - and am still amazed at the absorbency even though I had only washed it twice beforehand.

Q - with ones like this with the snap in - can you get longer out of the nappy if you snap in a new liner after a shorter amount of time, or to wash the whole thing every time? No such thing as a silly question (I hope lol).

Sami - yeah that is one of the extra bonuses of the AI2s...If they arent soiled, or the shells arent smelly, then you just put a new booster in and go again

And never anything as a silly question!

That is why I have twice as many boosters as shells for my snap ins.

Sami - Some AI2's have all of the boosting in the snap in bits, but there is some bamboo in the shell of the CT. I have PMed you anyways

Anna - Did you find it? Sorry I kept losing signal, they have just put in 3G on the other side of the mount and I think they are doing something to the tower that is line of sight so I have hardly any signal inside lately.

WOTBs: I would assume CTs. Didn't pay that much attention during the tanties we have had today

DH has just agreed that MCN's are the way to go with our next bubba and I am new to this whole thing. I was just wondering where to start with a newborn due in the next two months. Should I start buying up now or wait and see what fits her best?

Okies. Nappy material 101

Order of absorbancy, least absorbant --> most

Microfibre
Flannellette
Bamboo
Hemp

Order of moisture take-up, slowest --> fastest

Hemp
Bamboo
Brushed fabric
Terry (loopy fabric)
Microfibre.

So Microfibre is the fastest material to absorb liquid, but doesn't hold much.
Hemp holds lots of liquid, but takes longer to absorb it.

Mind you, some kids are a little sensitive to Hemp.

Some boosters have microfibre over hemp/bamboo so you get the best of both worlds.

DON'T put microfibre next to bub's bits - you'll irritate them. Which is why Polar Fleece is used - it is "stay dry" in that allows liquid to pass through to absorbant layers below. So you could do polar fleece then microfibre then hemp/bamboo.

WoHB - BBH with PUL cover. Knew I should have put a fleecey cover on him, he's asleep.

Ok so now it is just working out what suits us regarding AI1's or AI2's or the inserty things... I know, not up to scratch on the terminology but I'm sure I'll get better...

have had an extremely busy weekend.......spent today with my mama and papa (mum and dad) was really nice and relaxing until my butt started hurting! Who knows anything about roids cause my butt is killing me and before you say anything NO Jed does not go there!!!!! GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats made for things to come out of not to prop them back up

Um LS - I do that, but I don't use the shell immediately, I let it air in between wears, alternate 2 shells with inserts. Or use them over fitteds as well.

Maz - poor you and 'roids. Have you had any burst yet? That's always fun

Not me UTD, haven't O'd yet. Or DTD! Hmm, might go to bed.

OOOOHhhhh and how cute was Maddy today? Just gorgeous, I love the chocolate cow babylegs! Sal and her looked so gorgeous in matching amber ... which reminds me, i'm off to put in a new order.

Oh gawd i havent been taking my pill and DP and i arent being that careful (even though he would freak out at the thought of more babies... Would love it to be me but not my luck.

So mice not tp have to wash every couple of nap changes... cant wait to get the rest of my stuff so i can go awhole day without washing... LOL.

Maz - I don't know but I should probably talk to the Dr about them tomorrow, have had suspicions about them since Em was born. I have the same rule

. I have had the whiff lately too, but I tend to get the whiff right around conception time when I get it, so hmmmm, I KNEW someone would be pg!! For you to sniff it too, now I know my Pregdar must be working if yours is going off.

Ryatha - Most of our nappies are OSFA, I havent tried them on a NB yet, but for the other 2 they have been great. Very helpful to not have to work out who's is who's. I also prefer bamboo because it is naturally antibacterial.

DH was supposed to be working tomorrow (PH) but they decided to cancel the course that some of the guys were doing (he wasn't but would have had to be in the workshop

) so he has it off now!!

. So we will get on top of all the nappies and find all the bits he has misplaced.

Maz - I'd love to say it's me, but I'm not O-ing at all lately

hmm roids aren't fun are they, hope they settle down soon. All I know is that my doctor suggested "pushing them back in" - sorry to sound disgusting. The creams work too.

No nappy news - well except the fact that I'm proud they dried completely on the clothes horse inside within 3hrs - was threatening rain.

WOPB: sposie. Daddy did it. Been waking up every night for the past week pulling at his nappy. We don't have night nappies, but he's rarely ever out-wet a boosted BBH. Want to buy a few night naps, daddy won't allow it.
