no new fluff for me today - but i went and bought a washing machine and dryer... i guess it's fluff related!
Fluffy mail- my CT giraffe from B4B, it looks in pretty good condition, just need baby legs to match!!!
nice work BG!
What did you get?
Well, I got my ebay nappies- some cheap as terry fitteds for my 'backup' nappies - but think they would prob be good for newborns too as tho not very absorbant they fit nicely on my bubba and my Ebay PUL all in 1's, which are obviously made for more chubby bubs as velcro really needs to overlap but there's no provision for it to overlap and stick on top of the other velcro tab IYKWIM, but they are really absorbant so am happy with my Ebay nappies (for cheapies to keep my stack up)
More exciting however - I got my Maz pale rainbow cover and I am in love with it, it fits DD beautifully and is so prrrty, put a smile right on my face.
Should have a nice few CT's coming this week :leap:, and some Baby beehind essentials altho they say taking 3-4 days to process order so maybe not till next week.
Maz - don't worry hun, my mail box was chockers today! And no bills either, so it's all good. No fluff, but still all good!
Gigi - I'd be gloating about how well Bilby's doing with TTing and how it's SO much easier because of having used MCN. In fact, I'd be rubbing it in... but that's just me!
GF NN went great last night for DS! Absolutely luvvly, tho DS managed to pull it off as soon as I got it on him, and it's got snaps... but they're not side snaps. He hasn't figured them out yet. He better not, or I'll have to staple his nappies on!
WOAB: nuffing. singing in the bath this time! soon to be a NBC sposie tho... :( nothing's drying in time.
washing machine - Fisher Paykel 8kg Aquasmart
Dryer - Westinghouse 5kg
we looked at a few dryers (been wanting washer for ages) but decided value for money (seeing it won't be used lots) the westinghouse won hands down
they were both on sale til Sunday, but cos it was cash, they knocked $100 off each, and then added an additional year of warranty to each for nothing ($89 saved on washer, $39 on dryer) - i was so impressed with their service! they will deliver tomorrow morning - and we're paying the same in delivery now as what we did three years back!
lucky DH has the job of cleaning out the laundry ready now though - i think i'll be going to bed alone tonight while he keeps working... i love that he just does stuff like that - he refused to do it earlier cos i went for a nana nap and he didn't want to be clunking around where he might disturb me!
next batch of washing nappies will be in the new machine - woot!
morning ladies :)
my fluff haul yesturday was my 6 pack of IB's :D which are now in the wash....
heres hoping some fluff arrives today aswell....
I know my MnM was posted the other day...and i should have had my bubblebubs by now....getting abit impatient about those....
I really think i have to get some more GF....they dry soo quick..and are such a great fitting nappy...soo trim and fit Jack soo well.
Going MIA so dont panic, very very sick.
Ali - wont be able to come by tomorrow, I can hardly sit up and see the comp screen so I definately dont want you getting this :(
oh no Anna :( Hope you feel better soon and that your boys keep well xxxx
BG - woot on the new purchases!!! Almost as good as fluff!
Nothin here.. moving on...
WOTB's: night nappy - she woke up not too long ago and DH never changed Master Early bird
Not good Anna - Get well vibes!!!!!! Might have to get DH to drop River's pressy off or yours can pop by here to pick it up. Rest up and let River have full BB access to get antibodies as you make them, nothing worse than a sick NB.
:jawdrop: nearly 12 hours between posts?? What is wrong? Did everyone log off after the kids went to bed, or when they are asleep the nappy madness shrinks away??
BG - Yay on the new WM and Dryer!!! I can hear our WM getting sicker and sicker, but it has to hang on a little bit longer, we cant afford a new one. Will probably get one when I go back to work though, I want one with a timer so that I can load it up in the morning and have it just finshed washing when I get home, so I can hang it out when it hasn't been sitting in my hot laundry all day going smelly.
Need pop a note in MPM thread - will return with link
Kitt3n - I looked at the CGR's yesterday, and nothing really grabbed me. Am I just getting too fussy in my 'old' age ?
Maz - Saw a custom on FB for a lovely Townsville lady - She is going to absolutley LOVE it!!! I love it!!!
ETA: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ml
lol Ali must be a bit of a lull after the binge of the last week or so
Holly cat pooh batman! Anna are you ok babe?
WOO HOO B on the new machines.......and at MR c for being such a sweetheart for ya.
Kat - YAY on the IB haul hon.
All this talk of fluffy mail is making my mouth water.......does 6m of minkee count as fluffy mail  not to mention hungry caterpillar material?
I took the kids to playgroup yesterday...almost 5 km walk all up..and OMGosh im paying for it....Ive got wind burn on my lips!!!!! Kids had a ball and it was great to chat to other's IRL for a change
Hello everyone...hope that its nice weather your way......its cold and wet here...Just the way us country folk like it ;)
WOMB - cowboy auriel
WOVB - Mateauz
:hello::hello:
My name is Cheeky_Monkey and I have been quite absent from this thread of late. I apologise to no end for my absence.
Visitors galore at my house lately. My mother arrives again in an hour (all the way from W.A) not planned, medical emergency.
Now with my mothers medical issue already looming, my sister then calls to say my brother in-law has been rushed to hospital this morning. Had to talk to her on the mobile for 30 minutes to keep her calm during her drive to the hospital to see him. They're in Brisbane, I'm in Townsville.
My little man has been such a good sport while it's all happening, sitting quietly playing as he can see Mummy is busy. Love him.
Got fluffy mail yesterday, IB mail. Just a few seconds I nabbed as the LE didn't really suck me in. I love love love the rockmelon colour - it really is d'lish!
My apologies if I don't respond to much, but I'll try to keep reading :)
Anna...I hope you feel better real soon!
I got fluffy mail today....WOOT WOOT!!! 2 huge parcels of 2nd hand from a lovely BB'er...awesome stuff! A pair of wool longies (lanolised and ready to go, yayy) off eBay.
And itti bitti sent me my flushable wipes that they forgot to put in my parcel last week, they also gave me a velour wipe as a sorry gift...yayyyy!
Should be getting MooGoo tomorrow.
Good news on the playgroup Maz...we have playgroup every Wednesday and really look forward to it.:D
Last night I had super fast fingers and scored 5 FB's at their stocking..woohoooo.
Got the Black Dynasty , Aqua and Chocolate Argyle, Retro Dots, Red embossed paisley and Paisley Medallion in Caramel/Dark Chocolate. Also nabbed a layby spot...which I needed to be able to get all these, LOL.
WOJB...terry flat and orange BBH cover.
Kitten - you do need to wash a cover EVERY time there is poo on it. Not worth the health risk. Is this happening just overnight? or do you mean any time of the day?
bilby pooed overnight, only when teething. For that time (the teething), i would use mainly fleece covers, flongies - to deal with the constant washing.
How is the fitted on underneath actually fitting her? has she outgrown the rise (if poo leaks is from out the back). are you getting leg gape (if poo is escaping from the legs) - is the elastic still good? are the fitteds slightly too big for her? maybe stick in a small booster to take up some slack. Cos if a fitted fits right, you shouldn't be getting so many poosplosions on the covers. When they're REALLY tiny, yes, but i thought your bub was older than that?
ayhoo, to give you a break from the constant woollies washing and relanolising, i would be swapping over to fleece covers, until this situation calms down, or you figure out why her fitteds are fitting her so well right now/ Is she inbetween sizes perhaps?
FLUSHABLE LINERS?
Jess and ??
omg i've gone blank, i kept your name in my head, the whole time i was reading the posts, and now i gforget!
anyhoo, i bought both Bummis and Tots bots - coudln't tell them apart to be honest, both lovely and soft
i hear good things about the imse vimse ones too, just haven't seen them IRL myself. if we had ever gotten thru the bulk amount i bought (which we didn't, i bought 4 rolls this year, we only got thru 2 of them, you see i was expecting bilby to be in nappies all this year!) i was going to try imse vimse next, obovouisly won't be doing that now ha ha
BRIGSY - congrats on your new machines, i'm actually glad you got them BEOFRE baby arrives, i found it stressful buying a new washer with a two month old bub. easier to get set up, practise using them, BEFORE baby arrives. then you have your systems in place.
SAS85 - enjoy your maz rainbow cover, sounds gorgy, but i am biased, anything rainbow is wonderful to me!
ittibittis - their special niche in the mcn marketplace (apart from being cute) is their LOW RISE. They are trim thru the crotch area, but fuller coverage in the bottom area.
itti bitti boo - velour fitteds
itti bitti ai2 - PUL outers (classic), or minky outers (d'lish)
because of their design features, the ai2 are easy to put under jeans too. that's when you are not showing off their cuteness with accompanying baby legwarmers!
wotbb: imse vimse organic velour (inside and out) cloth trainer.
great for kids who react to synthetic inners.
it's got a "feel wet" inner, and i think it has worked, she's tt-d, hated feeling wet.
so now, they're her "knickers with insurance" - i'm waiting for the regression everyone mentions (that has tt-d a child). SHe keeps staying dry at night too. i keep thinking, when will this "good run" come to an end? When do i get to find out if the mattress protector works or not? LOL.
3 parcels of fluff are coming my way..or four...i cant rememeber..thats bad isnt it?
hehe one is at the PO waiting for me and the others should arrive this week!
Grr just lost my post!
Hi everyone!
Glad no fluffy mail arrived this morning cause DH was home and I would have gotten into trouble! Its easier to hide if he doesn't see it arrive and asks what it is! I'm waiting on Ecobubs and baby legs, MnM and a replacement CT.
CM- I hope everything is ok with your mother and BIL. You've got a lot going on. I hope your fluffy mail made you feel a bit better.
Anna- hugs take care of yourself. Its so awful being sick let alone whne you have a newborn to take care of.
Rayray I just noticed you only have 11 days to go! That's v exciting!
Gigi- you have so much info in that head of yours! So helpful.
BG- yay on the new WM and dryer. I've heard good things about the F&P, as close to a front loader water wise as you can get.
Gigi Thanks for the info about the flushable liners :) So far the ImseVimse ones have been going well....well I got the poo in the loo and not all over myself so I figure thats good :) My only concern with them is when I remove the nappy, I have to kinda "peel" the liner from DS's bits, looks uncomfortable for him but he didnt fuss!!
WOW i am on away for a wee bit and this thread has taken off...
well this week so far i have had a fluff delivery every day... YAY... Itti's, green kids, pop-ins, wool cover, more cushies and more... seriously i thought my DP was going to have a stroke... LOL... But its nice to be able to have a few in a bucket instead of change and wash ASAP... LOL...
waiting on a few more... have converted so many people... so exciting.
WOTB- Hmmmm DD... Her Fav...
yay rayray - not long to go now hunny!
well, WM installation is happening - slowly. it now appears there was nothing wrong with the old machine - just the old man! i noticed the leak and asked him to check everything - got told nothing was obvious and we've just put up with it for a while. well, we start connecting the new one today (it's so purddy!) and i tell him to make sure the water hoses aren't leaking. nope, nothing from the hose - but the tap itself is leaking! so he's just come back from town where he went to buy new washers. he's gotta hate that - cost him over 1000 bucks for something he could have repaired with new washers months ago! bwahahaha - at least the new washer is purddy and has a nappy cycle...
Should i be washing my nappies on a specific style wash??? i just have been doing a normal wash ???
lol
Normal wash is fine Jess :)
:leap: maz-mail! It's gorgeous, thank you hun! I hope you had fun making it. And the lovely extras! I hope they're meant for me, and someone hasn't missed out... cheeky Maz!
Well, that's quite possibly the last of my fluffy mail. Unless DS decides he will learn to sleep some time this decade, we wont be TTC #2 any time soon. And until then, I have to make do with the stash I have (going on the amount of funds I don't have!!). I give it about a week before I'm having withdrawals... wish me luck!
Thanks Lime... i did the wool stuff on wool but the rest just normal...
DD just christened her IttI Moo... :( thankfully i had a nice liner and it caught most... lol...
Oh NaNa- Hugs Hun. i wish i lived closer ...
I'd only drool on your fluff, Jess! And that would be messy.
fluff here today :)
my MnM cowboy nappy :d can't wait to put it on Jacks butt :)
got afew nappies to wash tonight and fold heaps of washing tonight aswell :( Mainly fluff though...any takers????
WOJB ~ NO idea as nappy changed him....more than likely a GF as that is what i packed for her to use.
i got fluff today! 2 cute tooshies aio's and a cgr from one of the ladies at NA - she said they were lined with velour but its actually minkee! oh well - they are still really nice!!
ls and gigi - thankyou on the poo info. I find that fleece covers aren't good for overnight, she needs the thicker woolen ones. Gigi you are right - she is having the leaks out of nappies which she has leg gape in, these are a bit big but i cant afford to get 6 small nappies and then another 6 bigger ones (3 days to dry here).... so i guess i just have to make do for the moment....
fluff - nice on the mnm - i am curious to knwo how that fits
anna - hope you feel better
CM - i hope your mum is ok?
hmn i had other stuff but cant rmember!
wohb - sugar shot
Kitt3n...i had a side snapping minkee nappy (NB size) when Jack was a newbie...and the fit was great then!!! so i know the fit will be great!!!!
 child care tax rebate arrived!!! Child care bill is begger than it but I am making regular payments to childcare so I think I might head over to greenbeanz and hope that I can get a snap press and make mama pads within the next 5 weeks. I wont spend over $100. Yay!!! Oh that has lifted my mood a lot!!
Maz - Mat's cover and Vy's skirt look stunning!! Bout time you made something for them :D
CM - Me too, FIL arrives tomorrow. Maybe sanity will return with someone bugging me during the day  Scary thing is he is going to have to drive me around, and he may not be quite as gentle on the corners for body roll which is ouchy. Yes if you get stuck behind someone going really slow around corners with baby on board on the back of the car then it is probably me in the front seat. DH has been dawdling and I have been gritting my teeth with the ouchies.
Well I am off to go buy a snap press from NZ :D
Alioop- childcare tax rebate.?? wheres mine... LOL. i would be buying anything though... have spent way too much... Bout $500 now in less then a month... not good
Fluffy mail for me today - 5 Cushie Tushies (Ali & CT are just oh so prompt - they should make high five smilies) - LOOOVE the London Mod one, oh so funky, too pretty to poop in really. All nice and washed and dried now, oh what a lovely bottom, have already started trying to convert people to cloth.
Want to buy buy buy, especially more covers, however just paid a $300 electricity bill  so I'd better refrain until I've paid my credit card off . . or not . . we'll see, mwa ha ha. Sigh - I really shouldn't, my freaking Dr just told me he wants me to start taking a prescription compounded medicine that's $25 a week!!! I told DH I don't really think my health is worth that much unless I'm on deaths door and that got me a lecture on just forking out for it, so I'd better not spend too much or I'll be a big fat hypocrite.
BG - I have had a new westinghouse 5kg dryer for a week and it is really super, especially compared to my parents dodgy simpson, so you will love it. Did you still get warranty with your FIsher & Paykel?? I was thinking about getting the aquasmart when we get our new washer some time this year, but then my Dad just told me not to buy F&P because they've declared liquidation blah, blah, but if you still get warranty I don't see why that should bother me, did you?
Hope everybody with sick rely's and sick themselves feels better.
I can't remember the other comments - I can't keep up with this thread, it's so fast and my memory is a sieve.
Well my order was just under $100, 6.5kg postage however bumped it up to almost $140, But Hey, making my own Mama pads will save me way more than that in the long run. Got 1/2m of PUL, 1/2m or Microfleece, and 1m of Bamboo fleece, and lots of snaps and the die and the press, so it should be about a week and a half away. Maz, I remember you saying the one from there was the easier to use one? So then I can also put a few more snaps on my IF and peapods!! And whatever else gets wing droop and actually use some of my standby only nappies. This is as good as fluffy mail!!!
Jess - It only took a month longer than the dates for the quaterly ones lined up to, so it should be in yours soon if they are in CC.
Thanks for your concern over my Mother and BIL. BIL is home now and on bed rest for a few days (hard with 3 kids). Mother we don't know yet, have to wait for test results. Fingers crossed for her please
Ali - yay on the mama pads goodies. I can't bring myself to try them. Don't know why, maybe I need convincing to try them. Not that I need them at the moment  stupid body. Oh and I'll be honking at you if I get stuck behind you in the car hahaha What sort of car is it? I'll keep a look out :p
I'm jealous of everyones fluffy mail! I'm not allowed to buy any more until after the wedding, but I have my eye on some CT's ;)
Was someone asking about liners? I use Bummis and love them. So soft!
Dont worry Maz, Im not dying  I felt like it but I cant stomach the thought of Dh raising the kids alone ;) I feel a bit better after lots of sleep, my head isnt going to explode anymore.
CM - a big ugly silver one :D If you want I will make you some mama pads when you need them to try, and enjoy AF being absent a little while longer. Oh I will PM you too ;)
Anna - Glad you are feeling a bit better hun
The noise brigade should be home soon. With dinner. And stronger drugs for me.
Just a quicky
Daddle Doo Nappies is having a sale...buy a nappy get a free bonds singlet...
Off to shop now
BBL when worms are in bed
:D I admitted to DH about the snap press, and I am not in too much trouble, but still a little nonetheless. He will be completely over it by the time it arrives. And as usual I said, that is less than a year worth of plastic pads :D Not allowed to buy anything else though. Wonder if I can get my sewing machine and it's desk brought out to a cooler room than the study? Pretty doubtful. at least I can get into the study now.
Should be interesting sending FIL to the PO to collect it though
DH forgot to go to the chemist on the way home. He has to get the drugs tomorrow or get FIL to get them. I have never seen FIL do housework before so this should be intersting
WOEB: Fuschia CT
WOSB: Snow White Minky CT
WTG on the snap press hon...have you got a pad pattern at all? Ive got one somewere...i'll photo copy it for you if you want :)
And you'll be surprised how many different things you'll end up using the snap press for
i'm pretty sure it wasn't FP that were going into liquidation - i commented on it with my dad the other day - can't remember which mob it was though... damn, i wish i could remember!
ETA - it's kleenmaid products - couldn't see anything on FP site or any of my paperwork to link them to Kleenmaid in any way
