child care tax rebate arrived!!! Child care bill is begger than it but I am making regular payments to childcare so I think I might head over to greenbeanz and hope that I can get a snap press and make mama pads within the next 5 weeks. I wont spend over $100. Yay!!! Oh that has lifted my mood a lot!!

Maz - Mat's cover and Vy's skirt look stunning!! Bout time you made something for them

CM - Me too, FIL arrives tomorrow. Maybe sanity will return with someone bugging me during the day Scary thing is he is going to have to drive me around, and he may not be quite as gentle on the corners for body roll which is ouchy. Yes if you get stuck behind someone going really slow around corners with baby on board on the back of the car then it is probably me in the front seat. DH has been dawdling and I have been gritting my teeth with the ouchies.

Well I am off to go buy a snap press from NZ

Fluffy mail for me today - 5 Cushie Tushies (Ali & CT are just oh so prompt - they should make high five smilies) - LOOOVE the London Mod one, oh so funky, too pretty to poop in really. All nice and washed and dried now, oh what a lovely bottom, have already started trying to convert people to cloth.

Want to buy buy buy, especially more covers, however just paid a $300 electricity bill so I'd better refrain until I've paid my credit card off . . or not . . we'll see, mwa ha ha. Sigh - I really shouldn't, my freaking Dr just told me he wants me to start taking a prescription compounded medicine that's $25 a week!!! I told DH I don't really think my health is worth that much unless I'm on deaths door and that got me a lecture on just forking out for it, so I'd better not spend too much or I'll be a big fat hypocrite.

BG - I have had a new westinghouse 5kg dryer for a week and it is really super, especially compared to my parents dodgy simpson, so you will love it. Did you still get warranty with your FIsher & Paykel?? I was thinking about getting the aquasmart when we get our new washer some time this year, but then my Dad just told me not to buy F&P because they've declared liquidation blah, blah, but if you still get warranty I don't see why that should bother me, did you?

Hope everybody with sick rely's and sick themselves feels better.
I can't remember the other comments - I can't keep up with this thread, it's so fast and my memory is a sieve.

Well my order was just under $100, 6.5kg postage however bumped it up to almost $140, But Hey, making my own Mama pads will save me way more than that in the long run. Got 1/2m of PUL, 1/2m or Microfleece, and 1m of Bamboo fleece, and lots of snaps and the die and the press, so it should be about a week and a half away. Maz, I remember you saying the one from there was the easier to use one? So then I can also put a few more snaps on my IF and peapods!! And whatever else gets wing droop and actually use some of my standby only nappies. This is as good as fluffy mail!!!

Jess - It only took a month longer than the dates for the quaterly ones lined up to, so it should be in yours soon if they are in CC.

Thanks for your concern over my Mother and BIL. BIL is home now and on bed rest for a few days (hard with 3 kids). Mother we don't know yet, have to wait for test results. Fingers crossed for her please

Ali - yay on the mama pads goodies. I can't bring myself to try them. Don't know why, maybe I need convincing to try them. Not that I need them at the moment stupid body. Oh and I'll be honking at you if I get stuck behind you in the car hahaha What sort of car is it? I'll keep a look out

I'm jealous of everyones fluffy mail! I'm not allowed to buy any more until after the wedding, but I have my eye on some CT's

Was someone asking about liners? I use Bummis and love them. So soft!

I admitted to DH about the snap press, and I am not in too much trouble, but still a little nonetheless. He will be completely over it by the time it arrives. And as usual I said, that is less than a year worth of plastic pads Not allowed to buy anything else though. Wonder if I can get my sewing machine and it's desk brought out to a cooler room than the study? Pretty doubtful. at least I can get into the study now.

Should be interesting sending FIL to the PO to collect it though

DH forgot to go to the chemist on the way home. He has to get the drugs tomorrow or get FIL to get them. I have never seen FIL do housework before so this should be intersting

i'm pretty sure it wasn't FP that were going into liquidation - i commented on it with my dad the other day - can't remember which mob it was though... damn, i wish i could remember!

ETA - it's kleenmaid products - couldn't see anything on FP site or any of my paperwork to link them to Kleenmaid in any way

Was thinking about doing my own pattern, so they fit most of my undies and so they sit the way I need them too (most don't quite sit in the right spot for me) so am going to butcher some scrap fabric I have around here and then make a template from what works best. Will start with PP pads and then do some normal pads. I think they may end up being a little bit like a layin booster with PUL on the back

I do have a quilt here with a broken snap too, so I am pretty sure it will get used for that.

DH told me the wrong nappy for Sarah before

Hi ladies, lots of fluffy mail arriving here also - had my girl in cloth for the first time yesterday and today and am loving it.

I'm thinking of getting 6 more ib's and then some night nappies and then that will be it for a while.

So i'm after some recommendations. I'm thinking of going with the MandyMac purple nights for night (obviously) - how do these rate? also what is a good cover for them? Would a fleece one be ok for overnight? i think a PUL one would get abit sweaty overnight but also don't really want to get into wool and lanolising so what's the alternative? thanks for any advice.

plonkee - So glad you had your first clothie day!! YAY!! Awesome to hear of lots of fluff arriving too lol always a good sign

if you don't want to get into wool and don't want to use PUL overnights, then fleece is certainly the option.
Quite often I don't use covers at all for Charlotte...it is a matter of seeing if it is worth it - ie if she wets through the nappies or not. Charlotte VERY rarely will wet through a nappy, and doesn't poo overnight unless teething, so no need for a cover. We use longies in winter as pj pants. I also use fleece pj pants and they work perfectly fine.
Have a look at getting some flongies (like longies but fleece) Im sure the girls can tell you where to get some great flongies. So they will be a cover and pj pants all in one Save a hassle.

I personally love my Sandmans from sustainable hemp products. They are ace, gorgeous and bamboo Never used a MM nights though so not sure about those.

    Morning ladies

Fluff - how long ago did you win the bubblebubs? The longest I've waited was 7 days and that INCLUDED the time it took for bank transfer to clear. Maybe get onto them about it some more. Hmm seems so odd calling you Fluff - sounds like something we call farts to children hehehe

Ali - I'm not happy about AF being absent, I WANT it and NEED it to fall pregnant. It magically disappeared 5 months ago and won't return. Thank-you for the offer for some mama pads, I'll take you up on it once I need them and you've got them worked out!

I wish second hand (but in good condition) IB's were easier to find. I can't believe the price some people want for them it's ridiculous.
