And no not UTD but just asking questions as this nappy business is abit like science.lol
Hi Ladies,
I have bitten the bullet and have ordered some IB seconds! The deal was to good to resist. I figure I will need to replace all the medium magicalls soonish (maybe) so ordered four larges to use when Em is a bit bigger.
Caddie I haven't tried Rumparooz, sorry! I haven't heard them mentioned very much in here either.
I'm in for wieght loss support!!! I put on 20kgs when I was pg and was 20kgs over weight to begin with. I have lost a bit now and prob have another 10kgs to go. I'd really like my boobs to get smaller! They aren't shrinking at all!!!!
Ezy - I'll support you :) I lost 22kg after having DS - and will have more than that to lose after this one.
Caddie - I'm not sure if they are the ones that I've heard not so good reports on... I can't quite remember. I don't have any anyway - sorry!
Nothing else happening here. Have to change some nappies soon.
Got a huge case of the mummy guilts at the moment *sigh*
hey ladies
caddie - I had a rumparooz - it was a minkee pocket. I quite liked it but decided not to keep it as I only had one. Fit was similar to a bum g.
weight loss.... what is that? hanging out with the pixie I am putting not going to lose weight with all the yummy cakes we eat!
Genessa Forge now does side snaps - I have one here and it is even better than the front snappers - getting a bunch of large ones made, all side snaps
eej i like ezy its cute!
kat - big hugs babe. time might change things? thinking of you - if you need a pick me up i'd love to see you :)
just to add, i love pookey pockets fitteds!!
wohb - pookey pockets fitted/pookey pockets cover w/ cherubs kiss frog embroidered onto it
Just a quick one from me ladies - lots of housework today.
I'm wondering how long it generally takes for the stains to be UV bleached from my nappies?
DS is addicted to tomatoes and ate quite a few yesterday, it seems to have made his wee stain two of his naps. Not really dark, but noticable. Our first stains so just wondering how long to leave them on the line for.
WOPB: Nothing - having a naked sleep.
Woot I've just been enabled to the tune of 2 ecobubs and a GK (thanks Mel!).
WOXB - BBH Magicall
Rumparooz...are NOT my fave...yep they are OSFM...but to be honest they are crapola....the one i do have is an 'emergency' only nappy....
Kitt3n...would love to catch up...just need to find time!!!!
Erica Nappies!!!!
Where can i find some???
Good luck with that....she hasn't made any for a long long time.....
When she was making them they were stocked exclusively at The Weewuns Store so maybe try there......
Im pretty sure the wee wuns is having a sale of very baby fitteds (erica nappies)
yeah they are the Erica very baby ones but she also used to do an erica brand fitted nappy of her own design (Erica, her oldest daughter used to make them) but i havent seen any made since before she had her last little kidlet
thanks guys, yer looked at weewuns and seen the Very Baby fitteds but i have some old patterned ones and was looking for more of them hmmmm looks like i'll have to keep an eye on on Buy for Baby etc there are two large ones there atme bu i wanted small or medium
Smoz - I'd sell you mine but I don't think you would want it- its pretty girly (think lots of pretty pink flowers.. lol)
Arimeh if you are pls PM me (all his nappies are pink and girly hehee) they are just my favourite fitting!!! that and Cute Tooshies but again i can't find the printed fitted CT like the one i've got (wich happens to be pink with flowers and lady beetles all over it :D )
WOTB - Blue Erica Nappy and BL

Smoz - check out Nappychic hon
Ive left my nappies out for 2 nights again
hello ladies,
Been lurking for a while, can't anymore though (Thanks Mel) my clothiebumz order arrived today (yay for my first fluffy mail). Her May sale was too good for me to resist. Now I have to go through it all and start my pre-washes (thank goodness I start my mat leave next week). I think I may have overdone it a bit though. (about $900 later on a layby  without telling DH - opps - he did know I wanted cloth though) I still have to wash some of my baby clothes and sheets yet too; going to have lots of washing happening from tomorrow and on the airers to try and dry.
How many washes & dries should I try and do for for the inserts & boosters (bamboo, microfibre) to make them reasonably absorbent (? if that's the right term) for first usages. I'm not entirely sure that the first few times we won't be using disposables but I'm keen to get into the MCNs fairly early on.
I got a wide range of brands - I think at least one of nearly everyone that Mel stocks - to make sure I could work out which would suit bubs bum (it's a surprise so tried to do the gender neutral thing too, due July 18). Have to double check what I've got cause the bag split (so many nappies and stuff in there) and to remember what I actually ordered. (the bag was taped quite well Mel - and then re-bagged so don't panic)
Liz
Thanks Kitt3n! The kids have all been calling me Ezy for years! Its quite cute and they call my hubby Heafy. Have you and Fluff seen we are having a meet up tomorrow? Its now at Clowntown at Rosehill cause the weather is so yuck. Not that Em can do any playing its more for me! :)
We had a succesful day today no leaks and a big poop!
awww Ezymay....i would have loved to come along tomorrow :( BUT i will be at work :( Fridays is my only working day off...apart from weekends..(but they are designated family days!!!)
Hmmmm nappy news...
I am going to kill my MIL i am sick and tired of her using 'any' bum cream she feels like on Jack whilst he is MCN's!!!!! i keep telling DH to tell her she is ruining my precious nappies and he says yeah i will..or you tell her!! BUT if i tell her i am positive i will argue...
Fluff - just give her a bill for new fluff.
I am sick of having to do strip washes because the stoopid cow is using the wrong things!!!! I tell DH that she has wrecked my precious fluff and i have to buy more!!!! He doesn't say anything much any more...
Mel - I think I've got that Erica nappy you're talking about! Pretty sure it's in with the nb stash Kitt3n sent my way. If I have a boy, I'll send all the girly stuff back to you asap! I'm not as liberal as Smoz
I'm sure I put it away the other day Willow - so maybe I have two? lol
drats, lost my post!
Fluff - can you just send terry/flanno flats to your MiL?
Really chuffed about the d'lish still, I got all large in snap-ins and variety of colours. They'll be Pip's new CC nappies.
WoHB - snoozywun :D
willow/mel - is that the love hearts one or the yellow one? i remember it :)
ezy - yeah hun I saw that but I don't drive! i know, i know, i really should get my licence - it will happen one day. There's no way I could get from here (inner west) to rose hill
fluff - why is she doing that? do you have a stash of stuff (creams) for her to use? freaking MILS
leckert - HI!!! welcome to the mayhem. hemp/bamboo needs to be washed 8 or so times to get to maz absorbency however microfibre you should be sweet with just one wash. You change the little little ones so often anyway - doesnt really matter if they havent reached absorbency :)
kaz - nice on the d'lish score!
wohb - bizy bee night nappy / lovey bums wool cover
Kitt3n...yep!!! sure do send creams etc that are usable....
Speaking of creams....i know it has been asked a million times previously...
can one use Bepanthan with MCN's??? you would think i would know this by now....
WOJB ~ BBH (boosted to the MAX) / M-A-L 2 by 2 elephant cover
Fluff - no to bepanthan. Anything that's water-based, yes. Petroleum-based, no.
To test : put some on your fingers and run water over your fingers. If it washes off easily without rubbing, then yes to MCN. If it needs soap, or the water just "beads" on it, then no to MCN.

thankx Kazbah...i know it has been asked a gazillion times BUT knowing me...i NEVER listen...and that is what i think the MIL is using.... you know that 'bepanthen' smell???
Maz or anyone....how the heck does one lanolise a pair of longies??? I want to get Jack into these longies/ 3/4 longies/shorties maz gave Jack!@!!!! I have lansinoh (sp??) here can i use that???
I'm sure Ali said that bepanthen is fine to use with cloth?
I too tought someone said Bepanthen was ok?? maybe i was ready something other than nappy talk??? hehehehe
i wouldnt use bepanthen
i have actually found using dixie drops from sugar shots keeps rashes at bay :)
kat - yep lnsinoh, just dissolve in warm water and soak em. i dont soak mine though, use them as pants not a cover :)
well, i use bepanthen on monsta's bum & havent had problems yet.
lansinoh is fine to use. To lanolise (cut&paste frm OCN):
•Hand wash if necessary in a little soap. Covers can be lanolised either wet or dry.
•Melt a small amount of lanolin (about pea sized) with very hot water in a jar. Do not shake the jar! Then dilute the melted lanolin with warm water. Some people add tiny bit - just a drop or two - of wool wash or baby shampoo to help disperse the lanolin.
•Pour mix evenly over covers in a bucket, topping up with warm water to just cover them. Many people find it useful to turn the covers inside out before lanolising.
•Soak for at least 15 minutes (overnight is OK too). Remove cover, do not rinse, squeeze excess water and hang to dry out of sunlight.
•Be sure to dry your soaker fairly promptly. If it dries slowly, it may develop a musty or sheepy smell. Also, keep it well out of reach of dogs!
Anyone help with itti's question? I am stuck between getting medium (6.5-12kg) or large (10-17kg) for my 18 month old. She is 12 kg and 84 cm tall. I am looking at the d'lish but not sure if they are big cuts or not. I want them for her now! TIA
ETA- is it worth buying extra small nappies (2.7-5.5kg) for newborns or stick them in bamboo prefolds with covers? (They are not Ittis- just cheap 2 for 1 Bum gs)
I use bepanthan onthe kids  just make sure you use a liner cause i have discolouration from it.
i use spray on lanolin from bubblebubs Kat...Im to lazy to wash them ect
Katie - Vy is 12kg and in larges....dont foret its not just about the weight but the rise to :)
as for xsmall nappies...I would be happier using flats for hte first few weeks until I could work out what shape my baby would be
Its quiet in here........the joys of a cold winters morning :)
WOMB - WC NN and Dr Feelgood 2 up M-A-L cover
Hey Maz, thought of you last night. Have a look on web jet, virgin are doing a big sale at the moment. Mum sent an email yesterday, i havnt looked but she said flights to up here from $48.
Off to work, have a good one.
WOLB Ceejay fitted
Neither? Roses.. the one I'm talking about has roses over it? I think? Gawd I'm so confused. I have to go through my smalls again.. lol
Leckert - welcome
Katie - are they the small bumg's or the newborn ones? I had the smalls and that did DD from birth to 6 months - so was a great investment on my behalf! Mind you, I did still prefer my prefolds and covers and I have got more prefolds now ready for the next one.
Anyone know what effect (this is not nappy related, but could be eventually) that off apple juice has on babies bums? I accidentally gave the kids apple juice yesterday that had turned - and DS did the grossest poo yesterday afternoon, and then DD was up at 4.30 today screaming like she had a sore belly. They only had a little bit and I didn't realise it was off (distracted by toddler screaming I would imagine) until DH took a sip of it last night and nearly threw up afterwards.
Mel - the most it would do is give them the cha-cha's and an upset tummy. Shouldnt last long though if they only had a little bit.
