janine - i only use BBH minky magic alls with an extra night booster over night on DD , i have all 13 coulors (plus doubles on a few ) and they make great bay and night nappies !!! its them and ittis is all i use , with a couple of special nappies in the mix , like Genesa forge , if you want special nappies shes a good start !!!!
Thanks for your help! Can I boost them with a bamboo prefold or do you buy boosters through them? Also, she's almost 5 kg now, Also I notice the mediums fit from 6kg so am I better off waiting for her to fit them? I see the smooth snap ones are on sale for $17.50 (bargain!) but they have no smalls left either

Sorry for all the silly questions, just a bit clueless about them! I checked out the Genesa Forge website, there's not much on there and nothing in the auction part either? Does she do mainly customs?

are the $17.50 BBH minky on ebay as well? I notice they have smooth for $17.50 on their website, but minky are still listed as $25. If I can get minky for $17, i'll grab a couple for sure!

quick question oh nappie gurus: We are starting to get plummbers crack from our small IB's - does that mean that it is time to upgrade to mediums? Do you buy mediums first and then get rid of the smalls or vise versa?

WOGB - fitted and cover - cant remember which - we're expecting a poosplosion this morning, in fact I think she is doing it now

yep, minky bbh magicalls in licorice and chocolate only though. $17.50. On Ebay from the seller "Babybeehinds" and I am pretty sure it is the company selling stock over run. so annoyed i can't get any of those, little one really hates the bbh for some reason. The licorice ones would have looked so cute with her black and white polka dot dress too

Okay, now I admit I need help with MCN addiction. I try coodinating them with her clothes

Cheers for that, just picked up a Licorice one to try.. haven't used one before so I won't feel so bad if it doesn't suit her because it was a bargain

coordinating nappies and clothes is a sign of addiction? i'm in BIG trouble then! i have bought a couple of dresses from Gossamer Dream - and then requested custom nappies to go with them! oops! addiction city here lol

i guess it's a reasonably harmless addiction in comparison to some - i come from a family with addictive personalities...

between MCN's and Maz blankies, i'm in trouble!

LOL, I utterly agree doesn't hurt anyone really (errrrr except DP's plastic )

I have to repack the nappy bag when heading out to make sure at least 3 nappies in there that match certain colours within what lil one's wearing. I think i'll just put it down to being fashion conscious although i generally resemble a train wreck by the time i dawdle and get her all prettied up. I think no one's looking at me with her there though

Bimboo - I got lumps on my wrist as well during pregnancy, it was related to carpal tunnel syndrome and water retention for me. A chiro fixed it up nicely - but for the SPD see a physio as Mel suggested. Nice one for the fluffy mail!

And yes, I am an addict as well DH knows it makes me happy so as long as we can afford it he is happy for me to shop Since I'll be selling off some of my smalls as Fred has grown out of them it means I get more soon YAY

I have DD in a NN for the 1st time, and it isn't cause we have run out of sposies

DH has agreed that if they work over the next week (I have 3 that I am trying), I can get some more for both kids, and use sposies in emergencies only.. And he even knows the cost involved

Also did anyone have pubic symphsis separation during pregnancy? I'm in agony at times especially after sex (it's taboo for the next 20.5 weeks). My bum also goes numb all the time when I sit on the couch. I don't get it, but it's really annoying me. What did you do to get through it? I've got exercises that have helped to some extent, but I'm pretty worried about getting bigger with this pain.
My friend had to wear a weightlifting belt both pregnancies and when she stopped moving at all during the day she seriously couldn't move again, would hurt too much. she just held onto the thought that it'd go as soon as the babies came and literally as soon as they were out the pain stopped. The weightlifting belt helped heaps though.

    co-ordinating nappies with clothing?

Yes, you'll get alot of "sympathetic nodding" when you mention that one! we know it well.

by the time i was fully in the swing, of going out with bilby, i had a stock standard six "going out" nappies, that were always reserved for the nappy bag, so they were always available. all six nappies were in plain shades of minky, to match the colours of the clothes she was often in. So if i dressed her in blue/purple colours for an outing, i made sure i had say 3 nappies that would look right with blue/purple, in the going out nappy bag. I looked a wreck, but bilby looked great.

i think the first part (nb stage), she was in prefolds and covers, with a muslin baby wrap covering her up anyhoo, so it didn't really count then. it's more when she was crawling and toddling around, that i paid more attention to the matching, as it was on show then.

i also had my stash of "easy to get jeans over these" type going out nappies. The PUL ones. slippery enough to get clothes on over very quickly.

then we went thru her "fitteds and woollies" stage, when it all came down to "what matches her longies?".

some people swear by matching babylegs (a pair for every nappy)

(i could mention the "matching wetbag" addiction, but you may pass out, so i'll save that for another day. I didn't get that addiction myself, but i have noticed it happens.)

(i may have had the 'matching breastpads' addiction, if only Mazalicious breastpads were around when i was using bps. i had them, but they weren't as groovy looking as the ones you can get now.)

another cheapie nappy sale right now is the Mandy Mac bamboo nappies, owner is moving house so they are going out very cheaply right now. at the MM site.

plus Daddledoo nappies are on sale all of October, due to Ms Daddledoo giving birth in the near future. (she sells pocket trainers too, brigsy, that was for you).

there was something useful on sale at Happy Babes the other day too, now i've gone blank.

    reminder for all newcomers
    Cushie Tushies
    different brand to
    Cute Tooshies
tis easy to get their names mixed up

cushie tushies make the CT basix, the CT couture (aio's). they specialise in front snappers and do the "turn and topstitch" sewing method, so no leg frills. they do not make fitted nappies (the ones that need a cover).

cute tooshies make the CT OSFA fitteds that need a cover e.g the bamboo delight and the CT OSFA minky ai2's. they specialise in side snappers. and leg frills elastic (you turn it IN for the nb stage). the way the leg elastic is done, makes the crotch narrower than many other brands.

MAZ: i wonder what has changed for Vy? is she drinking more before bed than usual? the long booster in teh nappy knickers looks pretty absorbent, i'm amazed she's outweeing that. but i suppose an entire night is a long time. i havne't had to change bilbs over night for so long, getting a bit spoilt here. Lucky really, she sleeps in MY bed from 2am onwards (and i'm too stupid to put a brollysheet in MY bed), so if she DID wet, my bed would be wrecked, not hers (which is well protected by a brollysheet). My commonsense is very unbalanced obviously.

i thought the wetting overnight would return, cos bilby has had rotten cold/cough for last week, but it just struck me, "sick but still night trained", maybe i really can sell off our night nappies now. i've been kieeping them "JIC" she regresses. WHEN do you let them go?
