Hmm adding more stuffing to the pockets will make it bigger no matter how big the crotch is.
Yup, that's the dilemma and we just end up getting leaks through the legs / crotch.

We do great with some of the aussie WAHM ones here - plus they can customise it for a particularly heavy wetter if need be.
I'm slowly working my way through contacting the WAHMs to get their advice on crotch width and to get some customised for better absorbency so I'm optimistic we'll find something! Just takes some time and experimentation.

    lovely cloth ladies!

Well I thought it was about time I dipped my toe in here, I have been a long time lurker, and have been slowly building up my stash for our first bubba.

So DH wants me fill the cupboards instead of having a hundred shopping bags laying around, and in order to do so, I need to do some prewashing. Now I know when nappies are dirty they need hot water, but can you prewash in cold? How many times should I prewash each nappy, and do they have to dry between washes?

Many thanks in advance, and looking forward to participating more once I have a bum to cover in fluff!

But the last few nights Fred has out weed her BBH and woollen cover, I think I might need to invest in some NN... any suggestions?

    This thread has gone quiet!

Major dilemma here............ Charlie has just had her first solids poo and I am really dreading opening that nappy by the smell coming out.

How's everyone's fluff going? Still on buying ban so been avoiding thread so I'm not insanely jealous of everyone's fluffy purchases.

Ok, enough procrastinating off to change this nappy. Anyone have a hazmat suit?

A life? Me? Pffft.. not likely!!! haha!!!!

Just busy culling some of my nappies - a fair few have been sold now - which is good. Culled my stash down to 25 day nappies each for the kids, and 5 night nappies each. Bout time I did something cos my nappy drawers were overflowing. Now I am using flats more - got one on DS at the moment Ahhh good old flats.

CL, I hear you on the solids
    Cows milk is nasty too.
So far we have only had lots of fruit and veg with a little meat.
Wonder what a macca's poo is like?
So many additives and preservatives, I wonder if they just ***** tiny little burgers?
    Like mini M&Ms...
Ryatha, Shiat girl, you using dirty words....too many... pfft, there aint no such thing...

LOL! I giggled so loud at that the princess on my lap woke, gave me a filthy look and went back to sleep!

Was a false alarm on the poo front but if her farts are that bad i am seriously dreading when the actual poo comes out, Charlie's content enough and quite chirpy so i'm thinking everything digestion wise is ok. Seems to be gettiing less agro of a morning so thinking the solids was a good move, she was getting mega hungry and quite gnarky.

Thread's picking up again. Is it just me or does there seem to be a lull everywhere this time of year? nothing on ebay, shops are empty of people. It's odd.

Oh there I am rambling in my sleep deprived state!

hello everyone! just popping in quickly so you don't all forget about me!
I have a question, maybe should post elsewhere but here will do for now - Is there anyone here that sends your kidlets to childcare with cloth nappies? I'm looking at getting DS into a place soon, and I know I'm going to get that "protocol" BS about having to supply sposies for "hygiene reasons" Anyone know what the story is with the legality of that? Arimeh? Somebody? The centre I checked out this morning had NEVER had anyone even mention cloth nappies before. HOW SAD IS THAT??? Put me right off the place, to be honest... didn't even bother bringing up the topic of ECing.
Here's hoping I get a nice FDC place for DS, and don't have to worry about it.
No fluffy news here for a long time...

One fo the daycares I looked at was cloth friendly no issues NaNa guess it depends on the centre as to if theyll do it or not.
I am currently sitting here with $140 I can spend on cloth and oh the possibilities!

I think this has been discussed before and I am pretty sure legally they can't say no to cloth nappies.....Gigi did a heap of research about it and am sure will have some advice....bilby does or did cloth at CC.

Is this true? That dirty nappies need hot water? I only ever cold wash...

I finally tried a GK minky overnight with a hemp insert, microfibre insert and bamboo booster and it was drenched this morning, very heavy, with a tiny little leak but the nappy I changed her out of into her night nappy was dry and she had that on for 2 hours, she was saving it up! My only other option is to try 2 hemp inserts and a bamboo booster, but that is going to be very thick... I think I will try it on her and see if it looks to uncomfortable or not.
