DD - try a bamboo insert instead of a hemp one - I've always found them to be more absorbent than the hemp ones.

Re: cloth in child care - Gigi will probably cover that better than I ever would, but yes we had problems, mainly because all their regulations and stuff is based on old school cloth, they don't know about PUL and things like that, so usually if you do take pockets, they ask for a cover over it - which defeats the purpose really.

I did up a whole letter stating what PUL was and the new school cloth and they gave it to their officials or whoever, and we had no dramas from that.

Thanx folks. I got a call back from the center and they said they would be ok with using cloth, but they wouldn't be able to do or provide facilities for "soaking and scrubbing or anything like that"... um, who does that anyway? I did my best tactful response (this is challenging for me) and explained how they would only have to drop a flushable liner in the loo and drop the rest of the nappy and wipes in the provided wetbag. The nappies I provide will be simple as sposies, and if my DP can use them surely a childcare worker can. Only problem now is that I don't like the centre much, but there's not really any other options. Oh well...

I think most people think of the old towelling nappies when they think of cloth (I did until I was enlightened).

Hoping I can get my fluff on the line today. Bucketed down last night and the teething wee smell is making me feel off. Still no poo since starting solids so I'm dreading when it does come because been over 3 days and usually 2 days is a mega mess! Little one not uncomfortable though so looking like everything is working ok.

I don't have a bamboo insert . I did try two hemp inserts plus a bamboo booster last night, it made the nappy biggish but it worked, no leaks and no smell and she seemed comfy .

ok, i need a little squirt ASAP! Was so not cool trying to rinse poo the cinsitency of concrete off a nappy. Gouble liner epic fail.

Nappy issues i am really peeved about! I leant a nappy to a mate to try last week and also gave her the instructions asking her to follow them, don't soak, don't bleach and don't tumble dry........ Nappy comes back today and not only did she SOAK the nappy for THREE days, she also put it through the industrial dryer at the laundromat, used fabric softener and bleach in the wash....... I have a crispy nappy now. any way to fix it? I think it is thoroughly rooted because it feels very flimsy on places and crunches elsewhere.

I leant it out WITH WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS with good faith she'd follow said instructions.

Thanks heaps Maz, will give that a go. PMSL at the text from the mate that borrowed the nappy that she's getting some. let's see how long they last for her. Bet she actually reads the instructions for hers too

    Hey hey

Keeping busy preparing for expo time but having some big nappy news at my house.

EM WEARS KNICKERS WITH NO ACCIDENTS!!!! She is wearing a nappy now coz she needed one for her sleep but she now wears knickers unless she is going in the car or to bed!! So she is pretty much TTed!! She was ready for ages, all it took was to switch the nappy for the knickers. So now Leah gets the entire stash.

Well I best be off to clean my kitchen so I can make DH's birthday cake (now I can say he's old - coz he's older than me for a few months )

grrr anyone know how to get a 3 yr old to stop whinging !! its driving me insane ... !!!!!!!

got 3 wisdom teeth pulled yesterday and im in alot of pain .. its not fun at all , and i have dog breath as i was told not to brush for 24 hrs as i have stitches in my mouth too

nappy news ... ummmmm none really

i would loooove some cute covers PUL wit frills and stuff like that ... and narrow crocth .. as BBH and other covers are too wide for bitti boos .. so i dont have any

if a nappy makes Gabbi bowlegged .. its too wide in the crotch , right ?

if thats the case alll ny nappies are not the right fit

is sweetpea still in this thread ?? i know her DD is the same age / weight as mine , if your out there hun - what do you use ?.. i wonder besides ittis i can use :hmm:

well had Gabbi at the dietician yesterday, words like "challenges" and "malapsorbtion" and "a long time" were repeated a few times .... so im feeling pretty bummed about my poor lil caterpiller , who has a cough like a smoker atm too

so ... who makes pretty nappies ... i want frills on mine .. can that be done y'reckon ???

Hi Charmelea, I'm still here. But I can't help realy help on the nappy fron, dd is in medium itti's durring the day that is all I use and at night either a bbh fitted and wool cover or medium minkie magical.

I have often thought about tyring others but to scared to fork out the money on them as I know these work. I do get leg cap a bit in the ittis when she squats, but she gets that in sposies and even got them in small ittis.

I am getting her weighed tomorrow but from my jumping on scales at home and trying to mesasure her she is around 9kilos now and 75cm. She has no chub on her legs now to bulk out nappies lol.
