Hsm - wow yay on the great nn buy! And yeah you're right the longer cycle didn't do much for the stench. Will try the strip next week thanks. I'm also just using omo and plan on getting ecostore, not sure if that will make a difference!

Chrispe - congrats on the new stash, sounds like a great buy. See you decided on getting the little squirt too! The washing sounds right, though I'm no expert... Have fun trying them out!

Chrispe yeah sounds fine about the wash. You probably don't need to insist on 24hr Sun once the nappys fully dry is enough. You might like to also hand rinse first if you have a front loader? That's what I've started doing in the last fortnight since going from my twintub to my brothers VERY slow and water saving front loader. Woohoo for you on the nappy grab too what a steal!

Cattie please stop using enzymes on your beautiful mcn's! Lol... I use purity by natures organics and really like it (bonus of it being cheap too ) you could try adding some bicarb and/or white vinegar to your loads in the meantime??

Itti bitti new season colours. Ooohhhh!! How exciting!!! Shame it's raining here and they won't dry if I wash them.

Does omo have enzymes? Argh! I read on here (I think...) some people using omo so thought it would be fine until I get myself to a woolies for ecostore (we usually shop at Coles) Might have to rush out and get some today! Thanks! I wanted to try vinegar but read mixed reviews on it so didn't want to take the risk...

I use Planet Ark Aware Sensitive. DS's wee has a very strong ammonia smell and I wash every 2 days, no smells here.

Vinegar can damage PUL and elastics I've heard, though I'm not sure why.

Only leave in sun until dry. You don't want them to fade or damage the elastics.

I use Earth Choice, still with less than for a normal load.

DP copped a big stinky nappy today while I was working. He still left it for me to clean up though, so I'll have to work on that.

Our woollen longies and extra cover arrived this week! The longies are purple and so pretty. Can't wait for it to be cold enough to put on her.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure using only a tablespoon in each wash shouldnt really affect the pul and if really worried doing in wash not rinse will definitely all get washed off before has anytime to do real damage. It is acidic obviously but usually you have to soak whatever you're deep cleaning with it for a good hour or more. I haven't noticed it deteriorating any of my nappies, the only ones I have had trouble with are the couple my sister borrowed and washed in hot water with strong detergent every wash- major bummer!

Cattie i actually havnt even got my NNs yet, I ended up getting friends to grab them for me to save me postage or driving an hr and a half, should get them at church Sunday

Thanks ladies for the suggestions! Umm so if I want to try bicarb do I mix it with the detergent or is it instead? Will definitely try the strip too but no time yet, maybe next week.

On the laundry front I've been using rockin green since I started MCNs and have been happy with the results.

Managed to get the my new BBH dry by this arvo. So loving them!

DD just threw a tanty because I put an itti bitti on her. She wanted a sposie. Damn that pooh bear I have enough nappies to last up to 6 days so I'm definitely not buying more I'm hoping DD will TT soon & then I'll be done with nappies forever

Just gotta share my joy in mcn and gumtree again... I got three as new superundies (that I'd been thinking of buying new for $28-35 each!) For $40 today! Yay and as a kinda bonus included in the sale is a heap of bambooty nappies 12 or 18 I think, with extra boosters and all their little wetbags. They were really.free coz most have pretty bad staining from zinc creams and storage. But considering I don't consider I paid for them even if I can't salvage much from them I'm still super happy

Btw LN thanks for mentioning the itti bitti sale (not sure if I'm being sarcastic or not here lol) I ended up getting another wet bag a few seconds tuttos and breast pads... I'm sure i didn't NEED any of it but oh well
