My apologies on the staining- I was thinking of the medicine stains, not pee stains.
I know Williamsmummy does elastic repairs too, don't know if she does ittis
I'm willing to try, but they probably just won't be as pretty as they started. As I would have to unstitch outside to get to inside. But a lot cheaper than buying all new nappies.
I've got some ittis that need leg elastics replacing. So I did some googling a while ago, apparently its not to difficult to fix them but not really straight forward either. You have to unstitch along the top at the front as everywhere else is super stitched up! Once that's don't turn inside out, replace elastic, turn right way and close it all up. I don't think I'm going to bother trying to do mine myself mind you (i just cant be bothered to find the time or motivation), so I'm interested in finding anyone willing to do them and how much it'll be etc.
I'm happy to replace elastics for a few dollars each. Feel free to pm me for more details. I'm located in north VIC.
Ok I need some ideas please.
DD's recently gone from a light wetter to a heavy wetter. We use itti bitti nappies- the SIO's, AIO's and Tuttos. The sio's I'm using the trifold and the hourglass booster, the AIO as is, and the tutto with the long booster and I'm trying out the short one snapped in the front.
Can anyone recommend which boosters to use to get more absorbency please?
i like ittis but have found other brands to be more absorbent. if we are going for a long drive i tend to put on a bbh or GF, to limit leaks onto clothes.
have you done a strip wash lately?
Are you putting a min booster in?
Yup, I did I a strip wash a few days ago. The mini booster helps but I've only got a few and it's hard to know which nappy to put them in. They are still quite absorbent but need maximum boosting cause DD's feed intake has dramatically increased.
I use tuttos as my everyday type mainly nappy because they're the only ones dh 'gets'. For my heavy wetting ds I use the long booster with the mini booster snapped inside, and the medium booster as well. Because he's a boy itti bitti recommend swapping the boosters around, so purple to yellow and yellow to purple, and that's always worked well for us. Maybe have a look online to see what they recommend for girls?
Thanks Sepata ill do a hunt. The tutto instructions don't give much info unfortunately.
I've always used the way Sepata does. Even with my girl. However, I found they just didn't either hold enough or weren't quick enough to absorb the wee DS used to throw at them.
The mini boosters aren't to exxie I don't think. I'll see if I have some spares.
FL I put off getting itti mini boosters for AGES coz even tho they aren't very expensive I thought they were so small they'd hardly make a difference... So wish I'd gotten them sooner! I use a booster in my AIOs all the time and sometimes my tuttos (so have 4 boosters to snap in) but that gets a little bulky as bubby gets bigger. You can just use a flannel or cloth wipe until you get more boosters, I did that for a while using mostly the itti cloth wipes folded over a few times.
Also what size have you got bub in, is it time to change up?
ETA how's everyone doing with the hunt? I've never done it before and only got around to joining this time a few days ago. I've found some already but wondering if anyone has any tricks for the sites that DON'T have the first clue on their homepage? I feel like I must be missing something but don't know what :dunno:
I use a mini booster in all of my nappies in the morn as DD has so much more wee to give in the am. Then if we are out for a while i'll use the mini booster plus a longer booster from one of my pockets. I find all of my nappies only last 2-3 hours max (2-2.5 without a mini booster, 3 and abit with one) on DD otherwise the start to feel wet around the legs.
I caved...and bought more pretties...
Thanks for the booster info everyone. No more leaks yay!
TT40 what did you buy?
just a couple more dragonfly magics. I can resist anything with skulls on it...I think she knows this and just has one sitting in stock and casually lures me to her site so I have to buy it...and I think, there is no point just getting 1 and get another pretty to make it worth the postage...
im kot going to tell DH, just see if he notices a couple more in the stash
BBH have a clearance sale on atm. I also caved for some minky prints.
oh I forgot to ask. .. we have startes getting leg leakage, but only when she is in the carseat..must be the pressure of sitting/angle she is on? any tips, would making legs tightrr for car trips work? or is it just a mayter of waiting it out? (osfm side snaps)
Woo hoo my 12 new itti's arrived yesterday!!!! They are in the wash at the moment and then I'm going to put them out in this glorious sun! The new colours are beautiful!!!! 3649
oooh! How did you get purple?!?! lol That and the seafoam were the only ones I really wanted.
I'm doing to nappy hunt. I always do it lol. I'm nearly finished, but I have noticed that there are many regulars that aren't sponsors this hunt.
ETA tips. Sometimes it's not an obvious clue on the home page. SOmetimes it's a 'hunters start here' or something similar in their menu. If I can't see anything, I hop over to their hint forum and look up that particular sponsor. Often people before you will have not been able to find it and they give hints.
What colours are those Aj?
Noice stashy shot AJ! Are they all the same sort if Itti's or did you mix it up a bit?
Placed an order for what is probably our last lot of cloth nappies today! Got some bargains in the BBH sale including some minkees which is a first here...can't believe it's taken me almost 4 years but couldn't resist the leopard prints lol
Hi, new to this thread. We currently use bambootys. Does anyone else? We've used them for over a year now and are happy. Would love to have a good night nappy if anyone has a tip or two.
Quick Q- what's the nappy hunt? Sounds interesting!
Haha I wish it was the mulberry :( its Avignon but for some reason the pic turned out really purple?!
I like AIO's so that's what I bought. I have nearly all the limited edition ones and plain colours from last season. I just sold off my SIO's because they were really bulky on DS. I got azure, sea foam, papaya (my fav!), wasabi, Avignon and saffron :)
Willilever, I like BBH night nappy, but I haven't tried many, mostly because I was happy with that one.
Williever google Diaper Decisions Great Cloth Nappy Hunt. It's like a treasure hunt through nappy/children's sites. There are discounts and prizes. It runs twice a year, March and September.
AJ, ah buggar. I like AIOs too.
Here is a stash shot :) 5 are in the wash though. 3655
Wow AJ that's one mighty stash! How Many children do you have in cloth?
Hahaha one 9 week old baby :)
Woohoo! What a brilliant stash for a little bubba. Congrats on your bubba ad your gorgeous stash!
Cos you can never have too many!!
Actually you can. Going through mine ATM....man, there's some I haven't even seen for ages
Lol I 'should' take a photo of my stash, but I haven't yet as I don't think DH realises how many we already have and there are some more on the way.... So addicted....
By the way my little bubba is growing out of medium size BBH, at 6 months! (And 9.5 kgs) so very soon I'll be putting some up for sale :( not that we've had them very long.
Aj that's an awesome stash for a tiny bub! Wish I had started when baby K was that little.
that looks like heaps but when I think about ive probably no far off it ive just never put them all together. ill do another snap when my new pretties show up.
so our osfm bbh leak too at the legs (along with osfm side snaps), but once again only when she is in the car seat.
she will be 10months next week and has started walking, so obviously her legs have changed shape.. still interested in any tips people have. shes still rf ....was 9 1/2kg a month ago when I last got her weighed... dont know if shes hit 10kg yet, shes slimmed cause she is mobile (insanely mobile) ...
its just rather annoying
3659 here's my full stashy shot. DD is in sposies after immunizations cause the poo can sting and I'm using zinc to help protect her delicate skin.
What a beautiful stash!
I am holding off from growing my stash. I am hoping that what we have now (12 covers, 38 soakers and 4 boosters, plus an extra large cover for nights, some homemade microfibre boosters and some homemade newborn sized prefolds) will see us through to the end of TTing the anticipated 2nd child, and that at worst I might need to look into an alternative nappy for nights.
TT40, I gather that some absorbant fabrics are much more prone to compression leaks than others - I think microfibre is bad for it, cotton and bamboo and hemp are not so bad. Could you be using microfibre which is allowing the leaks to be squeezed out under the pressure of her bottom against the seat?
I love these stash reveals! Here's my stash- minus about five in the nappy bin and also my elastically challenged cheeky butts covers.

hi I might join here too, been using cloth exclusively since birth, atm we are using Bambooties ( just upgraded to mediums), Itti bittis delish- AIO and SIO, can do smalls and mediums still, and BBH night nappies. I just ordered some BBH minkee nappies for half price, best patterns- the leopard print etc, hopefully they will arive when DH isn't home- he is unaware of my addiction adn doesn't realise how many we have lol.
Luckily I just sold some of my small bambooties so have more cash for nappies hehe!
