My stash is filling up a few shelves in DD2's bedroom and I doubt if I put them all out they'd fit in one photo. :redface: in my defence, I got a fair few given to me and secondhand (Gumtree really came through on Totsbots and BBHs!).

My 'stash' is kinda divided into 3. newborn/small which are about to be lent out for awhile, and mediums and larges which DS is currently wearing nappies from both.
DD is in nickers for day and nappy at night.
I have a few I would like to replace the elastic on before I pass them on, but a bit scared to start.
I forgot about the nbs. They're on loan to two different friends atm. I hope I need them again one day. *sigh* Newborn cloth...

My stash is out of control. We just went away for 9 days and survived on 36 nappies. Coming home to 90, I just feel overwhelmed. DD is in unpants more and more, so it feels a bit silly.
But what do I keep? What do I sell? That's even more overwhelming.

my stash is small I think, they can all fit in a large plastic washing basket when snapped ready for use, I have a few that need new homes that just dont work for DS anymore.
I have a bedside table full, bottom of change table and a nappy stacker full. Not to mention the others I have packed away for next bub lol. But thinking of getting some prefolds for when newbie is here. Also have 2 WAHM wool covers on the way lol.
I'm totally addicted too Saffy.
My stash photo only shows the nappies that DD currently fits into- most of her MCNs are sized so I've got a big stash of smalls and mediums in the cupboard.
For those who cloth nappied their nb, what did you use/find best? I've done a bit of googling and I saw bubblebubs have some. Are there any wahm that make good ones?
Thanks sepata that's what I really wanted to know too hehe I only started using cloth with my DS when he was about 3 months old so I need to grab some mcn's for this new baby so I can do it from the start :)
Also would you take cloth to the hospital? Or just use sposies until you go home?
Sepata-I used bambooty smalls from birth ( cloth in hospital until home- the hospital offers cloth), they fit well ( they are quite small)and my baby was just under 4 kg, but they would have worked if she was smaller as we started on the top row of snaps. I really liked them, DH liked them, hardly any leaks and I got all of mine 2nd hand so cheap too, although bambooties aren't that expensive anyway. Shr grew out of them at 8 weeks but mostly the length, as we still had a snap to go on the waist, she is just very tall.
I found that my Grovia hybrid OSFM shells fit DH fine - he was 3130g at his smallest. We used the hospital-supplied sposies for the 4 days we were in hospital.

I used bubblebubs fitteds, l'il daks, CK size 1s, IB tuttos.
I sucked at prefolds. Gave up on them real quick.
With DS they used terry flats in the hossy, which I was dreadful at, so DH bought our stash in and took them home to wash them.
With DD2 they used sposies at the hossy. Initially we used our cloth, but it was a bit much for DH with the older kids and getting everything done, so for the couple of days we just used their sposies.
Ill be a novice for nb cloth this time too. But I've got a few different types to try mostly that I managed to nab really cheap unused second hand itms. I think the different types I've got for tiny nb (mine usually are quite small) are a nb kissaluvs, some nb grovias (super cute!) Bambooty smalls in easydry and the other aio type, I wish I had more of the others coz I have a feeling nb poos are gonna be a pain to get out of the leg gussets of easydrys. I also have a 'china cheapy' that I can get from a local nappy supplier for $10 brand new and they are gorgeous! Got my sister to try on her baby also and apparently it worked really well. (id be happy to pass on business details if anyones interested)
Once bubby is a little bigger I have mostly itti aio smalls with some sio, bumgenius, bbh, a couple of fuzzibunz I can stuff or use as covers and also tuttos and osfm grovias if I need :)
As for hospital I will almost certainly use sposies for the very short time ill be there. I don't think I'd want dh or anyone else trying to squeeze in washing nappies as well as taking care of all the other stuff and I DEFINITELY don't wanna try play catch up when I get home :D
Looking at all the stash photos made me kinda green lol I don't think I could fit all of mine in one pic but that's because I've got 4 (3 for sleeps) soon to be 5 in cloth and I prefer to use sized nappies so have nb, small, med, large, and a few different big kid sizes. Most of my meds are out on loan atm tho so at least dh cant see them lol.
My DD2 was a little thing at 2.8kgs and we used cloth from birth, although we were at home so maybe that was easier. I liked Rumparooz, Cheeky Butts minis, some fitteds whose name escapes me, prefolds and BBH small covers. Tried the Grovia and they leaked every time. The CB had pockets so were good for night time with an extra booster. All the nb nappies we had were sized for premmie/small bubs to about 5kgs, when I switched to OSFM and small.

My stash pales in comparison to your stashes ladies! We only have some pretty covers, the actual nappies are boring!

We clothed DD2 from birth, and DD1 from 40 hours old. Loved bambooty smalls, baby safaris, ecobubs, Bubblebubs AIOs and BamBams. Had no problems with fit, but both were 4+kg. and too big for my homemade prefolds after the first week.
Hi everyone, new to this thread. I gave cloth a try when I had DS2, but with having two in nappies and already having used sposies for 12 months on DS1, I gave up quite easily :redface: Looking forward to giving it another go with our new baby. I have a lovely friend who has loaned me her newborn stash - mainly fitteds + PUL covers. I've been buying some bigger sizes as I find them on special, shopped up in the BBH sale, and also have ebay and gumtree open most of the time waiting for a bargain ;) I've done the cloth nappy hunt (found all the icons for the first time too! woohoo) so have ordered from a couple of sites I found along the way as well. I read the last couple of pages of the thread, I love the stash photos! - my whole stash fits in a green shopping bag, so looks like I have a long way to go yet ;)
welcome P! well done with the hunt, im shocking at it. my stash is only 2 -3 over fittimg in a green bag, in fact it probably would if the night nappies weren't so bulky.
Yay, go P! I've got them all except Tinoki. I spent ages on Noonee Wilga last night though.
Although I don't quite have as many nappies as some, I've still got a reasonable size stash - over 40 BBH and 50-60 nappies in all.
Which is just as well because now our pipes have decided to block up, so while we are waiting for our Landlord to check it and get a plumber I can't do any washing at home.
We are having a girl (according to ob at 16 week scan anyway hehe) so this week DH and I went through my tiny stash and put aside the boyish ones for my sil :( so sad to see them go.
Now I have the most pitiful stash waa!! But upside is I do need to replace some. I bought two bonnibuns ones from mumgo during the sale hope they are good, anyone use them?
Keen to get some bambooty as well for the newborn stage.
Just so I can take this back to DH, what is the absolute minimum amount of mcn's needed for one baby? I had over 30 now we are down to half that and he reckons I only need max 20, like he is the one that knows all about mcn's :/ I want at least 30 back in my stash and that's not including specific newborn size :( men so difficult
I think I had about 30 small bambooties for newborn stage and washed every 2nd day, she wee'd constantly too so I changed probably 12 x a day. it was a hot summer so they dried easily, if it was winter here ( vic) it would have been harder but i still think 30 would have been ok.
We had side explosion/leakage issues with the ittibitti and bambooty smalls on DD as a newborn but Hotl suggested I try a cover over the nappies and that helped catch some of the escapees effort she needed another outfit change.
BTW I won an ittibitti AOI in the festival of fluff!
I got away with 20ish, but I live in a place hotter than hell, where night nappies only take an hour to dry.

Hi, I'm new to this thread too.
My DD is 4.3wks/4.3kg atm and we have been (successfully!) using homemade prefolds with wool covers for the last ~3wks. I'm hoping to stretch that for a bit longer but as the nappies themselves don't stretch, I'm a little doubtful ;)
I have a small stash of 6x BBH Magicalls, and a mixed dozen others - all OSFM. Which is well and good but I think is going to wind up being very bulky on this little bum. So I'm considering some sized/fitted nappies. I'd really rather not deal with covers, happy with pockets, but I just don't know what I want! I live in a cold southern climate so drying will be an issue through winter.
I'd welcome any suggestions and advice (asap!)
Bambooty easy dry are good. they do dry well and bambooty have good sales online.
Hi ladies, I have 14 fitted nappies & 9 covers (all newborn/small) that a friend has lent me - I realise this won't be enough for a newborn in the middle of winter, but not sure how many more to get? And not sure whether to go for more fitteds or some AIOs for ease of use for DH! Any advice or opinions?? I have 5 x BBH AIO in small, but they seem so big compared to the newborn fitted nappies! Argh, wish I had a crystal ball to see how big my bubba will be lol.
Peekaboo, that is not a bad newborn stash. depends on how much you want to spend, and if you need an excuse to buy more. you could supplement with some prefolds or flannel flats (dry quick) and be fine.
I love fitteds and covers for newborns. it was all I used for dd. I got some ittis for ds but still preferred the fitteds and covers, and they are really not that much trickier. you can always match up fitteds in their covers as you put them away so it is simpler when you have to do a change. But I am sure your partner is pretty bright, and probably does lots of thinking/technical stuff at work or as a hobby that is way trickier than just putting a nappy and a cover on :lol:
So our totsbots no longer seem to be cutting the mustard now that we have more or less mobile girls. Tuttos and grovia hybrids seem to be working really well but am wondering about the grovia aio. Anyone used these? Which would you go with?
Melissa, I found as DD2 grew I needed to have more absorbent boosters in my Totsbots. I often use a prefold. She needs extra as she gets bigger and the output increases as well!

I have always put extra absorbency in my TotsBots too. But I had to do it with GroVia AIOs as well. DD2 could outwee those from 3 weeks old. And they're very narrow across the bum. Dislike. And tuttos are too complicated and not adjustable enough here. I'd prefer Bonnibuns or Bubblebubs Candies.
P-boo: I only had about that many newborns, and some (ok lots) OSFMs, prefolds, and flats. But I have big babies, so could use OSFMs pretty early.
And I second Bambooty easy drys. I quite like them.
Speaking of Bubblebubs they have a sale at the moment

A friend at church asked me yesterday and I couldn't remember - I did say I preferred fitteds with or without covers - the prefolds didn't really get a look in with DS2 - ended up too hard and we did disposables mostly until he was out of the newborn Huggies.
I have some pocket OSFM that I'll show her but she has a preference at this stage for the SIO style (we use itti SIO here mostly - med & large)
