Can I just say AAARGH! Evap/chem preg craziness...

Last month I had a chem preg. Over 5 days I had a bunch of super-faint bfps that weren't getting any darker. Af came after a 15 day lp.

Not to worry, I was actually a bit reassured by the fact that *something* was happening, after quite a few months of absolutely nothing. Maybe a trace of hcg in my system will remind my body what it should be doing I thought.

This month I was running low on (internet cheapie) hpts - I discovered that I had a lone one sitting there. I am not generally poas addict though, I prefer to wait than be disappointed generally. (Or rather, still be disappointed but not in a self-inflicted way haha!) But I am now feeling more inclined to test because if I can 'catch' a chemical then I would rather know that that was what was going on rather than be in the dark iykwim.

So, having abundant opks, I peed on some of those, starting 9dpo. Not positive, but darker than it 'should' have been for that time of the month. The next day, darker again - the kind of opk I would usually get close to ovulation and think 'ahh, it will be a positive one tomorrow', so not positive, but on its way. The next day, not darker, probably a bit lighter but still with a line. That was enough torturing myself, I got the LAST hpt out and used that - bfn. Completely white.

Ok, so much for this month I thought and proceeded to vaguely sulk.

That was 2 days ago. Now today when I have a look at the bunch of tests sitting there, I see a oh-so-super-faint line on that hpt. 2 days later mind you, might be a *little* outside the time frame!!!!

So, what do you think, just an evap line?

I haven't had any spotting this month though which is what makes me wonder if it could be another chemical? (Unless the chemical from last month fixed that up a bit)

Of course, I have NO HPT IN THE HOUSE anymore. And somehow it doesn't appeal to load 2 boys in the car and dash off to buy expensive hpts when I am pretty sure they are only going to be disappointing (so much worse to pay lots of money for disappointment for some reason!!! Ahh, I am such a cheapskate.)

Time will tell of course, but I just wanted to say AAARGH!

Chem pregnancies suck! I've had a few now and they do my head in. I'm a poas addict though.

When are you going to be out next? Maybe pick up another test then, I wouldn't be able to wait though lol

I would disregard the hpt though, 2 days is a long time.

Smamfa, repeat after me "I will not look at HPT's after the specified 10 minutes." Okay, okay "I will not look at HPT's after the specified 10 minutes plus maybe another hour if I've been busy and I can DEFINATELY see a line." Okay, okay "I will not look at HPT's after the specified 10 minutes plus 24 hours." If only it were that easy huh...........

Hop on line and order some more internet cheapies, that way they'll be here in a couple of days and you'll be able to put your mind at rest. I am sort of thinking evap line but I have my hopes up a little for you too........I so want it to be a BFP!

And ps - I'm as scabby as you, I still have a couple of FRER in the bottom drawer because I was hesitant to use them when ttc with DS. Guess they are useless now - LOL

Hee hee, thanks guys. I know - it's insanity! I obviously should have just thrown all tests away (I still have one of the faint bfps from last month sitting there on the counter too, for comparision purposes.)

I actually would have *completely* disregarded the hpt except for the kinda-curious behaviour of the opks. I peed on another one of those after I made the post (cos y'know, they were there), and there is still one of those day-before-or-day-after-a-positive lines on it. Not positive but a lot darker that I would expect. But I know it is kinda crazy to use opks as hpts anyway!

So when my mum comes over this afternoon I will duck out and buy a couple of FRER or something, and then stare at them for a while while deciding whether to waste one (I probably will).

My OPK's change darkness according to when I use them and what colour my pee is Every time my pee is concentrated and darkish I have a dark second line, but if it's a med-light coloured pee my second line will always be a medium darkness.
Could it be that you were testing with concentrated pee?

    Good luck
