......but how many of you out there got pregnant first go?
We're kind of TTC. This month my temp didn't rise untill day 18, which was also in line with a positive OPK on day 16, which in itself is strange cause I normally O on about day 15. anyway I'm only 2nd day after AF is due and have some strange cramp type pains that I don't normally get and basal temp hasn't gone down yet. Pregnancy test last night came back negative.
Here's what I'm thinking......would be 1. wierd new pains bringing on AF, 2. just late AF which would be ok cause then would be sustaining a 14 day luteal phase, or 3. pregnant but not showing on the test.
I think it's just wishful thinking cause how can we be that lucky for it to happen straight away???????
No other signs of pregnancy to speak of, except these crampy pains.
With my first son I got pregnant the first time but with my second son it took a bit longer.
The first m/c took a while as well. The second m/c I wasnt aware I was pregnant until I lost it, but I we only have unprotected sex once.
Yep, entirely possible to concieve first go - yes, I know from experience. I get crampy before the BFP, kinda like AF is stuck.
You can be lucky first go but it may still be too early for a HPT to work. Some women do not secrete enough HCG in their urine until 6 weeks - ie 2 weeks after AF is due.
Test in a couple of days time - if it is still BFN and you are usually regular, then I'd suggest go and see your Dr.
Good luck. Hope it is a BFP for you - it just might take a little while to show so be patient. Your symptoms do sound promising.

DH and i had unprotected sex 3 times and i was pregnant 3 times, unfortunately the first two didn't last, but i certainly didn't have any problems falling pregnant. So yup, it is possible.

i feel nervous for some reason....and am trying really hard not to be obsessive about it cause it's only really our first go, and even then it wasn't a conscious 'ok we have to BD now' it was just a good night out to dinner with friends and without really thinking when we got home......BD'd???! I didn't think too much of it untill I looked at my chart a bit closer and realised it would have been perfect timing.
I do, I just feel nervous.....in case you can't tell by my jibbering.
it is sooooo good to have this forum to ask these dumb questions, just excellent to be able to have some support at the touch of a keystroke. I think I'm addicted!! ha ha

Im on my first month of TTC as well, and since I had it all planned out (was going to temp, and use OPK and all sorts of things!), and had a spacko cycle...I'm left wondering if I'm pg yet myself!
My mum was pg first time with all 3 of us kids, and hopefully its in the genes.
My problem is I AF, was off the pill as of then, then, 2 weeks later (3 days before middle of cycle, around O time), I AFd again!
So, by my rough calculations (just going by number of days, which isn't really accurate I know), hubby and I BD ON the day I should O!!!! Perfect timing without even thinking about it.
Ive had the sorest BBs I've ever had (to the point that my pjs rubbing on nipples was irritatingly sore!...sorry for the TMI), and I have had AF style cramps for the last 3 days...>AF is due saturday.
I've done a few (yes...a few...I'm a sad sad woman) HPTs but all are BFN.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you get a BFP in the next few days...
Hopefully by monday I'll have good news myself, but I'm pretty sure, I'll get AF right on schedule.

We got the BFP on the fourth try (technically the second try though as I only ovulate every second cycle) but Bindy who was in my TTC thread was lucky on the first go. She will probably post here as she lurks the threads a bit and is quite proud of her "first go" story!
OK - let's go on this journey together. At the moment I'm going insane thinking one hour to the next maybe I am, maybe I'm not, what was that twinge? I'm overreacting, running to the loo but still no AF, trying to concentrate on work.....all too much. I really am going to drive myself batty. I've decided that I'm not going to do a HPT tonight and will wait for first morning urine instead when maybe the chances of it showing up positive (if it's going to at all) will be slightly better. Although when I get home I'm sure it will be a different story knowing me.
Sounds like you've got stronger signs than i do - i definately don't have BB despite me squeezing them so hard just to make sure!!! ha ha ha ha can you just picture it??? ha ha sorry for mental image
Thanks all for the encouragement. Can I add one more thing in without grossing everyone out? talk about excess wind!!! OMG! maybe I've just eaten something that's a bit stuck, maybe all these 'pregnancy' symptoms will dissappear after a nice poo!! ha ha ha LOL LOL
I came off pill and was half hartedly trying (we had sex 2 times in whole month as hubby was away with work and me working night shift) and i got preg unfortunatly did not stick and had a miss at 8 weeks but it can happen so good luck

Ive done a couple of HPT and got BFN's....stupid HPTs....yes, Im disgruntled!
And my god the wind...but then, according to my husband, nothing is different there!
The expecting AF...seriously, I'm going to name the toilet at work..I'm in there often enough!!

With DS we got pg cycle 7, but managed it first go with DD. Then around New Year's I got pg again without trying, unfortunately that pregnancy didn't go anywhere though. Currently on my 5th cycle of ttc for a third but so far no joy, and we are not ttc actively anymore.
I am day 11 of cycle and confused have had days of watery mucus and times where cervix has been high and times when med or low and temps are not doing naything!!! this is first time of doing all this in last 12 months of trying

Yeah first time happens. I was on the pill for 8 years and my gyne told me it will take 3-4 monthes for the pill to "work" out. So I had thought I had a gap. I got pg exactly one month after I stoped the pill, exactly! (on my mom's birthday!!) We did not go at it like bunnies, we had hectic work scheduals then so it would have been the 6/7th time.
I know this is going to sound dumb
