I too have been trying with no luck for about 6 months and dont have a previous child. My sis told me to start temping but it is all soooo confusing to me. Anyone feel the same way? my last cycle was a week late and i got so excited that when i got the BFN i was really disappointed. So hard being around all my friends that have babies starting to feel left behind and im trying not to.Arghhhh

I did temping for a little while, but I have annovulatory (no O) cycles so it really didn't help me. I guess at first it is hard but then it sort of becomes second nature I guess. What about OPK's (pee on stick to detect O)?

I was off the pill for 1 year before we started trying. It's only been a couple of months, but I just don't get why it doesn't happen straight away! So frustrating! I'm as cluess as you as why it isn't happening.

Wishing us all a speedy conception. xx

Hey yeah i might try that this month. Dr told me the dates so i just hope she is right and something happens this month. So disheartning when you areover a week late and then BAM af shows up.

Try not to stress too much hon (I know it's hard). It took us 5 months of trying to conceive DS, I was guessing when I was ovulating and working around those dates, but each month nothing happened. Then I bought an app for my iphone where you record your AF etc and it predicts the dates where you are most likely to get pregnant. We DTD on each of those 4 days and voila we got pregnant that month. Maybe it's worth starting to look closely at your cycle and see what's happening...

But that said it really isn't unusual for it take awhile to fall pregnant, I know people who have fallen the first month of the pill and others who it took 18 months (with 6 months of trying at the end). I think because our society is so used to birth control we expect that the minute one stops taking it they will fall pregnant, but in reality there are a lot of things that have to align for conception to occur, that's why it really is a miracle. Yes, before the pill people did have bigger families, but their families weren't that big and they weren't falling pregnant straight away, everytime iykwim? Anyway, that's my little rant! But I guess what I'm trying to say is don't be so hard on your body, it is very unlikely that there is anything wrong, sometimes those miracles just take a little longer than we expect.

    Good luck! x

Hi mum2romone i hope you are successfull soon i know it is really frustrating and the longer it takes the more frustrated and stressed you are! i fell pregnent with my first DS straight away and so many people i knew fell pregnant quickly and alot by accident didnt really think it was hard to get pregnant untill we tried for our second and it took us 12 months felt like the longest year of my life!
My doc told me to stop thinking and relax it will happen we took over a business and my focus was on that not on getting preg and hey presto i was pregnant dont know if he was right or if it was a coincidence.
We are know trying for our lucky last baby been 8 months i keep trying to focus on other things but that 2 week wait after ovulation is a killer cant help but wonder if it happened this month then dissapointed when find out it didnt! And you really notice all the other people that just fall straight away and it doesnt seem fair but it will happen!
really hope you and everyone else that has posted here fall soon its very dissheartening to keep getting that neg result

It's called Woman Calendar, from memory it was about $8 or $9 but worth it. It has so many different things that you can record, from temps, to cramps, mucus etc.
