Hello....I am so confused at the moment. AF is now 1 week overdue, I came off the pill 4 months ago and have had regular cycles ever since. DH and I DTD right when I should have been ovulating. I took HPT 2 days after AF due...BFN...took HPT 4 days after AF due....BFN...took HPT 6 days after AF due...very very faint BFP. Went to Drs and had blood test...HCG is at 24....dr says yes it is a rise but can't confirm if pregnant or not and will need to wait another week to see if it is going up. Then he says that he would say I was more pregnant than not (?!) but can't confirm. I am so confused...I always thought that I rise in HCG was a rise..and it meant you were pregnant...what do you guys think? I have my mother in law over from interstate and it would be nice to be able to confirm and tell her personally this time rather than on the phone but don't want to if I may not be. Along with no AF I have also been exhausted and occassionally getting sore boobs but only of an eveing, and tonight I have some weird pulling feelings in my lower abdo..so confused.
Your doc probably wants to see more of a rise before confirming your BFP - having said that, it still is probably a BFP!! Maybe try doing the test first thing in the morning, all the levels are more concentrated.
Oh Rachel, a quiet congratulations! Hope it's a sticky one and that Dr can confirm absolutely next week. I agree with sunflowa, it's a positive but dr just wants to make sure it's a sticky one before confirming. A bit mean to make you wait a whole week... I thought they were suppose to double every couple of days????
sunflowa_girlie, the test was taken in the morning, but with a blood test it shouldn't make a difference.

I contacted my GP/OB that I used with DD today to get an appointment with him (I trust him and he seems to know what he is doing), there was a 4 week wait!! I explained the situation and he was to call me back, so hoping that I should speak to him tomorrow and get a better idea of where we stand. Worse case at this stage I am thinking he will send me for another blood test at end of week to see if levels rising. It was so much easier last time, lol. Thanks again,.
The doctor said the exact same thing to me, Im just waiting a couple more days before I go back for another blood test as they could not confirm or deny that I was pregnant! I know how you feel its hard to be excited when your concerned.
I spoke to my normal doctor yesterday who also happens to be my GP/OB. He said that the results sound consistant with early pregnancy and will see me on Saturday. We are not telling anybody or jumping for joy until we get confirmation from my dr but I reckon that I am....my period is now 10 days overdue..which I have only had happen last time I was pregnant, I am tired....especially in the evening, my breasts are mildly tender and have those enlarged glands that I remember getting all over my areola's last time I was pregnant. If I'm not pregnant...then what the hell is going on lo?!

With a BT a level of <5 is BFN a level of >25 is a BFP anything inbetween is considered inconculsive and a second test is required to check that the levels are rising.
