I am sitting in your baot with DH. I do have 2children though. Have being trying ttc 10months. Have you used ovulation predictor tests, taking your temperature and charting whats going on with your body (like cervical mucous, back ache etc?). I would suggest trying these and keep trying for a few months. If in another few months your not pregnant I would go see your dr about it and get a referral to a gyno or fertility specialist. Unfortunately and I guess for good reason in some cases the dr wont do anything about not getting pregnant before 18months or 2years if your under a certain age which I think is 35 some maybe 30. I would like to go to the dr but I know they will say come back in 12months time. GL I hope you get pregnant soon. It feels like such a looooong time when your ttc.

Hi Emmy and Amanda - thought I would put my two cents in.

My DH and I tried for a while (5 months seriously - charting etc + a few months of no b/c) with no success. I went to the doc (GP) and ASKED for a gyno referal. Whilst she did say "It takes the average couple 12 months etc etc" I stood my ground and said I REALLY wanted a referral. We found out that DH has swimmer issues! So he started taking "menevit" and we saw a chinese herbalist. I also had a pelvic U/S and blood tests at gyno and all looked good at my end - which reduced my stress and gave me hope. Three months after DH started his supplements we got our BFP!!! If I had waited, we prob would still be trying.

So to cut my long story short - you don't have to wait if you don't want to! It could be something "simple" to help you get your BFP and save all those stressful months. Just ask your doctor and don't take no for an answer.

Goodluck to both of you and I hope you get that magic BFP soon.
