TTC and other peoples unwanted opinions

I choose not to tell people when we are TTC and have even had to respond with "it just isn't that simple for some people" when asked (multiple times by a stupid relative who got me on a bad day ) when we were going to have a baby in the first place (it took 3 years to conceive our stillborn daughter).

I have a beautiful little boy and we are cooking a little girl at the moment. I know there will be some who assume we will stop there due to the "pigeon pair" but I have always wanted 3 living babies so I will be heading back for a 3rd. I actually tell people this when they ask if we know the gender (we do - just not telling them ) so they already know my position and (hopefully) won't ask such a stupid question.

Although really - it is no one else's business. You don't have to tell them anything

We had some negative comments when we were ttc our FIRST bub. I won't be telling again.

My plan is to preempt negative opinions on future pregnancies by starting with 'we have some awesome news, we're so excited and happy to tell you that... we're pregnant again.'

How could anyone say something negative after a big wind up?

Oh some ppl are so stupid, no idea why ppl would think it is your goal to just have one of each sex. Just try to ignore them, and I agree with the others, I wouldn't be telling ppl when you are TTC. Good luck!!

Yep, I get heaps of comments about trying for a boy, because we have 2 beautiful girls. It's a bit annoying because if we have a 3rd bubs it will have nothing to do with trying for a boy. It'd be perfectly happy with all girls!!!

i havent recieved them comments but my sister did she had my nephew and was pregnant again a month after the birth with my niece...she was pretty bold and said to anybody who questioned it that it was planned (it wasnt but shut people up)...it must be so frustrating huni..some people just dont get it...iv got damaged tubes from scarred tissue and am on morphine for pain and am facing ivf and get told all the time i shouldnt have children because i couldnt cope...erm whos decsision is that???...mine!!!

everyone has an opinion - but they should all just shuddup! the only opinions that count are your and your DP - and a doctor if you have a medical condition that might impact you (as is rachel's situation)

i wouldn't tell anyone anything. we're planning on "not taking preventative action" after the gremlin is born - it has taken us a long time to get here, but i've been told that PCOS sufferers are most fertile in the 12months after giving birth, so once we're up to DTD, i guess you could say we'll be TTC - and it is NO ONE's business but hours (well, again, unless i have a medical reason to not ttc at that time)

just do what is right for YOU - and ignore everyone else

Ditto - even when we fell pg, people were amazed and said stupid things like "But you only just got married, shouldn't you wait until you've been a married couple for a few years first?!" This was when I was 9wks pg...

People always have opinions. We are not telling anyone when we decide to start trying again and we are not going to tell anyone (bar family) until we are 12 weeks, when it comes time for no 2 or 3 or... whatever!

I have a friend who has just had her 3rd, she had two girls and has just had a boy. So many people assumed they wanted a boy... but they would have been happy either way!

what makes me laugh is when family keeps dropping hints when they dont know that you are actually TTC

It is sad to think that some people family/friends/coworkers etc can respond in such a negative way when a couple want to have a baby - I think it is beautiful as I see a few friends who are so happy with their bundle of joy.

I must be fortunate everyone that knows that my partner and I are planning to have a bub next year. I have heard nothing but support, encouragement etc. Everyone is very excited for us. It certainly helps when I am scared at what is going to be in store for me when I see the fs.

But if I had people giving negative comments etc about it - I'd just tell them to keep their opinions to themselves!

Only reason we never told people when we were TTC this bub, is because we didn't want people saying "so, any news??" every damn month!! LOL we had heard stories and didn't want to have to put up with any of that!

DH and I have already decided when we'll be trying for our 2nd bub but noone knows except us hehe

I odnt know why, but 4 is what i have in my head.... so 4 is where i will go! AND i want it all done before i am 30 so i only have a 3 years to get 2 more out lmao!

As for negative, yes.... hence why i am hush hush now! everyone thinks they know better about our situation, and where it may not look to be the right time, we have learnt better than anyone, you can have the "right" time only to have life throw you a huge bone in your wheel! lol
