    an update from me.

    hi all

well i had by BT results come back today

anyway i have thalasemia minor a blood condition. but that's ok, it won't effect my chances of falling pg. (only if DH had it then we'd be in for a bit of a prob , but he doesn't have it).

    and also.... PCOS.

my cycles are longer.. my BT proves that.

got a day 21 test.. i hadn't ovulated when the test was done... i was day 26 at the time.

i always knew that my cycles were longer than normal..stress also has a huge impact on that.

my doc is sooo lovely.. she's like apart from that my BT is fine. e.thing else looks ok, which is great news.

i can go onto clomid if i want too, she can give me a referreal to a gyno for that.

any recommendations girls ? (for a good gyno ?)

basically from here DH has to get tests done...and also, just to take it easy if that's possible. We need to really discuss when we want this to happen the baby thing.. i want to be ASAP....

so for PCOS do i go the drugs method ie, clomid... or do i go to vitex which i have had before.. yeah it shortened my cycles... but then when i stopped taking it they went back to normal.. DH and i were on and off TTC too.

i'm thinking the CLomid is worth a try ?

so anyway a bit of mixed emotions. it helps i have such a wonderful doc... she is v positive and all. she's like it will happen.. it just may take a while. as my cycles are too long.

she also said it was good that all my other things she tested for in the BT were all normal. i was a bit worried about a couple of other things, so i guess i was pleasantly surprised.

she wants me to have a smear too after my next Af .... not look forward to it, but it has to be done.

mmmm the falling pg thing is not that easy.. but i'm sure worth every bit in the end.

    tks for reading.

    Hi Jess!
I have PCOS too. Its not so bad. Just really frustrating!! I never O without clomid. Clomid has usually worked except for the last cycle in making me O, and i haven't had hardly any side effects. I've been having hot flushes the past couple of weeks which i thought may have been related to clomid, but I stopped taking that last week.
Now I'm just waiting to O!
I saw a natropath last week. That was really interesting. She took a much more holistic approach and talked about things that cause PCOS like diet and lack of vitamins etc. She has put me on a low-carb diet (very hard for me to follow!!!) and given me a few vitamins. She would've given me a herbal drink thing too if i wasn't already taking clomid. I wish now I'd seen her before seeing the gyno and I would've given her treatments a go before going for clomid.
Having said that, I'm not yet willing to give up the clomid. I'm going to perserve with clomid for a couple more months and then see what my gyno says. I've been TTC for 6 months now.
PCOS makes it hard and frustrating to understand your body. I get really stressed at this time of my cycle (I'm CD14) because I'm convinced I won't O.
    Good luck!

Hi Jess and LG. Hope you are both having a good day so far. Yep you are looking at another PCOS girl here or a Soul Cyster as I like to say

Jess I think you have to go with what ever your heart is telling you to do. A lot of people have very mixed thoughts about what is the right thing to do, should it be natural or not? Personally I went straight to the gyn after I was diagnosed and started on Clomid. Unfortunately it was not a success for me but it has been for many, many woman so please don't find that discouraging. I will be going back to my Gyn myself soon and I have been having really mixed thoughts about what is the right thing to do as well.

I am currently on a break from TTC and can completely understand what you are saying about the long cycles. I have just ended an 80day cycle myself. I don't know whether it is is a coincidence or not but I started taking Vitex about 3 1/2 weeks before I got AF and I have also been losing some weight. LG I have been on a low carb diet and I have lost almost 6kg and trust me once you get in the habit you won't even crave those foods anymore and this is coming from someone who looooooves bread. I think all of these things combined have possibly helped me to get AF. Previously I had to take Provera to get AF so I was very chuffed that I got this one naturally.

Jess as far as a good Gyn in Brisbane I would have a look into the QLD Fertility Group. Maybe have a look at their web site they would probably have a list of all of the doctors. My Gyn is with them her name is Dr Barbara Hall and I personally think she is wonderful. She is at Spring Hill. The other thing that I love about QFG is that they have a clinic on Wickam (sp?)Terrace where you go for your blood tests. If you have bloods done in the morning by lunch time your Dr has the results so it is always really quick.

Well girls I hope that helps. My apologies for the mammoth post. Once I get started I can't stop Good luck to both of you.

    thanks both for your replies.

yes it can be a little frustrating at times these long cycles and try to understand my body.

i have seen a naturopath, she did put me on vitex for a while, it did shorten my cycles slightly.

then i went off it and they were back to normal again , cause we weren't as such TTC. as we had a break.

she was very good and she tried to advise what sort of diet to follow, but i can't remember it.

i'm thinking though my lifestyle probably contributes to it too.

like i have to stress less.... probably eat less carbs cause i eat tooo many. some days are worse than others.

so how did you eat less ? eat more protien ?

she was excellent in helping me through things.

i do take multivitimans and such. so that is good.

thanks for the rec of the gyno and all. do they all charge different prices and all ?

i so want a BFP , but it's just going to take some time
