Totally your choice and I think a small gap is great! When bub no.2 arrives for us, DS will be 21 months old and I think, had I had some help from family (they all live far away), we would probably have had an even smaller age gap!

Just one consideration however, which I am not sure if anyone has mentioned previously - just be aware of morning sickness: fortunately this time around it wasn't that bad for me and DH has been working from home and could help. First time, however, it was acute and I still don't know how I would have managed with a tiny baby all by myself, being that sick (I know many women have before, but I am just talking about me!). I probably just need to toughen up, but nonetheless, I thought it may be something worth mentioning and considering
