Hi Melis - I just wanted to add that at my first appt with my gyno she asked me if I had a full bladder as she had wanted to do an US, I didn't. I have my second appt tomorrow so am going to go in with something in there and try not to head to the loo whilst I'm in the waiting room!

Don't appologise for asking questions. That is what we are here for

When I was on clomid I was always monitored by ultrasound and blood tests. I also have PCOS and my body was very temperamental with clomid. Some cycles I would O and others I wouldn't even with a higher does My FS always did an ultrasound to make sure I hadn't had too many follicles and therefore increasing the risk of multiple birth (still had twins using IVF lol) but she used to always check in case I had like 4 follies or something (twins is ok... not sure how I would have coped with more than two!!)

Good luck hun and if you have any more questions just ask. There are many here who have been on clomid and can help you out.

BG - Thanks for sharing your experiences with me. Its funny you said to be prepared that it might not work out, cos at the moment i sort of am pinning all my hopes on it, thanks for bringing me back to earth. Hope your pregnanacy has been and will continue to be h&h.

MB - Thanks for the headsup, I will make sure I go with a full bladder so i can just pee if need be! Best of luck for your appointment tomorrow.

KT - I guess it is something to discuss with the dr, and how he wants to proceed, but sounds to me as if thats the norm. Your twins must be adorable, and quite a handful i'd imagine!

Ok, so I have 1 last question on this topic (I promise!). Will DH have to have any tests before we proceed with clomid? And do you usually go alone or with your partners?

    Thanks again girls

I took my DH to my first appointment, and he came to others with me also. It really depended on where we were in the cycle to if he came or not. Our FS wanted to do all of our background at the first meeting so it would probably be wise to have your DH there with you for that one. I would think that your Dr will most likely want your DH to have a sperm analysis done just to make sure everything is fine there so they know what they are dealing with.

Keep us posted on how you go.

    Thanks Kate.

I just made my appt (they only just reopened from xmas), its not til the middle of feb Oh well, at least that will give me some time to shed the extra kgs i've put on over the xmas break I also started temping again this morning (I temped previously, and gave up when it was apparent nothing was happening!) so I will have that info to take too.

I've spoken to DH about it, and he is happy to come along, and even give a specimen sample...lol, I'd hate to be in his shoes!

Thanks again for all your wisdom, and I will let you know how it goes

the sample thing isn't too much of a drama - if you have to go any further than clomid, your DP will have to become well acuainted with aiming for a cup! i figured if that's the most traumatic thing DH had to go through, well, he could just deal with it!

good luck - mid feb is fairly close - when i booked for gyno appt it took 3 months to get in, then i had to have surgery, which was another 3 months, and another 8 weeks before we started any meds, so 8 months til we got started.... it was a long and tortuous wait, but it eventually got us to where we are now...

That is great that you have made your appointment. Hope it doesn't take too long to come around for you but mid Feb isn't too far away.

    Good luck.
