Recommend me a roast dish, and some saucepans...

I am very very forunate to have a gift voucher for Peters of Kensington for a few hundred dollars.....

I need a few new saucepans and a roasting dish.

Mum has a Jamie oliver hard anodised saucepan which is great, i am leaning towards a couple of them.....any other recommendadtions. The brands they have are

    All-clad
    Analon
    Berndes
    Calphalon
    Circulon
    Esteele
    Henckles
    ittala
    Scanpan
    Tefal- jamie oliver

    Anyone have an opinion?

As for a roasting dish. I am not sure what to get. Is it true that non stick pans don't brown things like potatoes as well? Should i be getting a non stick one or a stainless one?

I should add, that i love to cook and usually cook alot.

I'd go for Essteele for saucepans. I used to sell them at Myer and they had the best service if there was any warranty claims. Not sure if they are still Aussie made but if you're keen on that aspect then it's also something to consider.

I have a chefs toolbox saute pan which is similar to scanpan and I'm loving it so far.

I looooooove my Berndes cookware. It's fairly bomb-proof and easy to clean, it heats evenly and for non-non-stick cookware, I rarely have anything stick.

My mum swears by her Scanpan roasting dish, she has offered to buy me one on several occasions (perhaps I should let her but we don't roast that often). I have a Berndes one which came with my set which does the job well but not being a heavy bottomed one it is no good for doing gravy as it can't be put onto direct heat, whereas the Scanpan one can. Apparently it does a really good roast, but not having used one myself, I'm not 100% sure. But I do occasionally roast potatoes in a Bessemer casserole which has a similar non-stick surface to a Scanpan, and it does a really nice job.
