From the calorie king website, sor those that are emotional eaters, like me!:
"Are you an emotional eater?
Feel what you feel and know that it will pass. There is nothing wrong with feeling a negative emotion. Instead of avoiding the discomfort, let yourself feel it, work through it, and then let it go.
Keep a food and exercise diary. Noting when and where you eat, along with how you were feeling at the time, can help you to track any connection you have between feelings and food.
Express yourself. Expressing yourself is an important part of dealing with life's ups and downs. Use a blog, or talk to those who are close to you about how you are feeling and what is going on in your life.
Seek support. You may like to reach out to a counsellor, friend or family member, or find a support group in your area. The CalorieKing.com.au forums also offer a place to talk to others who may have similar eating behaviours.
Exercise is a great way to deal with stress. Taking a long walk, going for a jog, cycle or swim, or playing sport with friends is a great way to improve your overall wellbeing. A relaxing form of exercise, such as yoga or tai chi, can help to further develop a sense of emotional calm in your life.
Find new ways of dealing with problems. What can you do instead of turning to food? Go for a walk, deep breathe, call a friend, take a bubble bath... anything that will break the connection you have established between feelings of discomfort and eating. Establish a new connection that is constructive and has nothing to do with food."
WHOOPS! We just had chinese for dinner DP was talking about how it would be nice to have some chicken and sweet corn soup which gave me an inkling for chinese food, so we had beef and black bean and szechaun chicken and a little bit of fried rice. It was really yum. I feel a bit guilty but I don't feel like I've eaten yukky greasy chinese takeaway, it actually tasted quite fresh! I'm putting it down to my free meal this week and am looking forward to going for a run tomorrow morning.
I don't think its too late maybe email or pm Lucy with your details (weight and measurements of waist, hips and bust ) She is away at the moment but you are welcome to start posting I'm sure no one will mind. I certainly wont
I have had a really good few days! I have been walking the past 2 days and eating eally well. I haven't been able to eat my full calories- 2000cals is soooo much food! And my ratios of protein/carbs/fat is still not right, but I'm over it! I'm just going with the flow and if I don't meet the amounts I'm meant to have then so be it....as long as I don't eat too much I'm not worried!
