Weather is the biggest motivation factor here too MK, but we all go out , when DF gets home from work. Turn the heater (RCAirCon) on before we leave, go out into the cold... and take a brisk 30-60 minute walk around the area. By the time we get home it is too warm for the heater, and we're both starving so dinner magically gets made quicker
Probably not as easy for you to rug up three boys but maybe you can get up an hour earlier in the morning and take DS3 for a stroll and make DH cater to the kids while you're out if they wake up?
Aamy4, yes lots of catching up on Mondays. Normally I am a more prolific poster on the weekends but had a busy one!
Kaz - Oooooer I hope you were as good as you could be! Sounds romantic though!
Ali - glad to hear you are enjoying the Wiifit! Just work at it to make sure you keep going when the novelty wears off. I am using mine again at the moment, but just doing the bodytest and yoga if DS gives me enough time. I keep meaning to fill in the activity log but if i fill it in, in advance, I feel like it is cheating and I never remember to afterwards!
Pappy!!! - Sounds great darl, I hope your training this morning was all you could ask for! ie; worked you very hard, made you hurt, made you think you would be better off dying than exercising etc... I hope it all works out for you!!
Scone it sounds like you are doing really, really well! Glad you enjoyed your massage!!
LARANNA: :birthday: Happy birthing day to you and Happy 1st Birthday to DS (is it Joshua? or am I losing my mind?!!!)! I was thinking of you yesterday remembering you had DS on Mothers Day, I hope this one was less painful than the last I am also envious of those with PT's. Would kill for a Gym within 50kms too. hah!
Cherished, I hope you get your BFP this month! I wouldn't worry too much about your short and sweet exercises, that's me here too. I don't want to burn myself out which inevitably always happens, so were just short and sweet here too. Walking with more difficult inclines on the better days and then I get on the boke or use my skipping rope / wii fit when I have time away from DS!
AFM! Well Saturday was a write off. But we did a lot of walking so I was okay with that. Yesterday everything was good except that DF bought me A Homer Hudson Choc Pud for dessert, which if you havent had them are absolutely TO DIE FOR. So we shared that too. I feel like I have a lot of exercising to do today to make up for it.
First up being going to the shops to get a few groceries! Am also considering walking to the post office but DS is sounding like he will need an early nap so not sure yet!
I hope everyone had a great weekend and Mothers day. I had a bad food day yesterday, but refuse to let myself feel guilty about it- I have decided that as part of my healthy lifestyle (because I don't use the word diet anymore) that there are going to be ocassions when I eat too much or the wrong thing, but that is life, the key is going to be letting that be a one off occasion and not an excuse for a 3 week eating binge.
Weather- I totally agree with it making motivation for excercise difficult, although for me I actualley find it nicer than excercise in the heat.
This morning at training we did a road run, my trainer told me I was doing a 4.4km run, and I was almost in tears at the though, I told him I thought I could only do 3km, but he was firm and told me that 4.4km was what I was doing. So off I went and even though I was at the back of the group and finished last, I would jog for as long as I could- walk and recover and start to jog again, I did my 4.4km's in 32 mins, and shaved 42 sec per KM off my previous road run time (I did 3 km last time) I was so proud of myself.
I also have a new and more definate goal to work towards, DH told me yesterday (in a lovely romantic way- see my woohoo post) that he is happy to have another baby. So I had always said I needed to loose a min of 20kg before I got pg again, and I want to start trying at the end of the year, so I need to loose at least another 13kgs.
Ooops had a bad day yesterday but it was Mother's Day so I refuse to feel guilty about drinking Pommerey French champagne
Anyway back to the gym in an hour and I will see what this weeks results are and if I need to do anything different.... I don't actually feel as though I have lost any weight at all but may have toned up a bit.
Ali - Woohoo on DH agreeing to have another baby!!! That is a serious motivator to lose that last 13kg. You go girl.
Sounds like we all had bad weekends but it was Mother's Day after all. I had a bit of a bad weekend too but back on the wagon today. Bootcamp this morning, worked really hard and so far this morning have been really healthy. Lets hope I keep it up today!
Will have to come for more personals later when I have a bit more time.
Gosh I haven't kept up with everything, but Ali, that's awesome!
Well I'm getting into gear today! I was NOT in the headspace over the weekend, plus with mother's day. But now I'm in the zone! I've also been doing WW online (have lost 4.5 kgs already yippee!), but had gotten a bit slack over the last month or so, so I'm going to get back into that as well as doing this - to help give me a kick up the butt!
I'm another one that wants to get healthier before TTC later this year. I'm still feeding, so can't lose too quick, plus I had GD last preg (on insulin) so I'm really hoping to avoid that next time!
DH is also gonna join the healthy train today too yay! And my only frustration is that I've still got some problems that mean I can't do anything high impact... and I used to do triathlons (once upon a fit time ago)... so I really miss being able to run. But, I can walk (just can't do TOO much walking), cycle & Wii Fit. So that's me in a nutshell.
Hope everyone is going well today, Mondays are a great day to eat well & feel good.
cookiemonster, yep it's Joshua and thanks for the birthday wishes we had a great time.
Anyway, girls, you may have read my other thread about me being pregnant, so I'm going to have to bow out of this challenge before we've even begun Well, actually if it's alright I might stick around and offer support. I will still be doing my pilates and will go back to aqua aerobics when my belly is a big bigger but I have to stop my aikido which is a bummer cause I was going for black belt at the end of the year. Not to worry though, I'd rather have a baby
I think the only measurements I'll keep track of are my upper arms and thighs. I'll only be about 12 weeks when we get married so hopefully not too much bigger than I am now, only have that wobbly after baby belly from last time. But at least I can try and make my arms look good lol
Keep up the good work girls. I'll be here cheering you all on!!
Hi girls, just thought I would share that I feel like I've been in the biggest looser over the weekend and today!... DH is landscaping and I have been shoveling dirt into the wheelbarrow on an off over 3 days Plus I did a workout on Sat so I'm feeling pretty good about myself and looking forward to weighing in tomorrow
Up at 5am, at the boot camp by 6am... worked my arse off (my god it hurt) but was great. Then get to work by 8.30... didnt leave work till 4.30. *yawn*
I am just so very tired and starting to get sore. lol
belfie good luck this week, I totally understand what you mean about not being in the zone. And it is hard to get back in it once you have lost it. Is DP/DH participating with you to hepl kick your butt?
Laranna please stay it will be great to have you to chat to and we can try and motivate you to keep eating healthy and keep the morning sickness at bay It is such wonderful news and I bet you will look stunning on your wedding day no matter what! Are you going to keep bump a secret and tell everyone on the day?
cherished wow sounds like you have been working hard! well done! big pat on the back, maybe you stole the rest of our motivation lmao!
papillon sounds like you did great, remember to keep walking during the day so the lactic acid doesn't settle in your muscles. If you have hand weights at home they can be good for expelling it from your arms, don't overdo it though!!!
as for me, we just had mexican barbacoa for dinner with rice and it was scrummy. really digging this healthy eating. took a long walk before and i did a quick few stepups when we got home, the some skipping as well. boy skipping takes it out of you what a workout!!! my lappy power has broken so the only way for me to talk is now the PC which means Ill probably spend less time on here and more time skipping and cycling, .
sort of semi looking forward to weighing in tomorrow, more about the measuring though!
Hi everyone- i am going to have to officially pull out.. i havent been able to get any scales They were too expensive to buy - but i will still be following this thread and i am still going to do my walking and try and eat a bit better- and i will just judge myself by how well my clothes start to fit again whether i am loosing weight.
Trillian- do i need to PM you to officially pull out?
StarBright - why don't you stay with us and just go by cm loss? That way you can have a better indidcation of how you are going. Tape measures aren't as expensive as scales if you don't already have one.
AFM - not a great weight loss but I did lose some cm and am back to the gym and jogging for the first time since before I got pregnant so I am getting fitter which is a good thing!
StarBright I agree with Nai stick around and just do your measurments I don't even have a tape measure! I have been usinig fishing wire and than measureing that against a builders tape measure I think I will buy a sewing tape measure soon though hehehhe
Amy & Nina well done honey remember the cm loss is what's really important as muscle weighs more than fat YAY
Crappy weight loss here (plus i just got AF this morning!) but i think i did ok with the cm lost!
I will PM Trill now with my stats.
I can't believe I did 30mins straight on the bike last night, I'm going to split it today though into 2 X 15min sessions!
I think if we beg hard enough CQ might be able to help us out with an at home work out to help tone our arms, belly, bum and legs!
aww star thats sad!! I got a set of digital scales from "The Warehouse" for about $20 or $30 if that helps =(
Cherished ive emailed away... my results... are in *says in exremely show tv host voice* hehe gained 100g but lost some CMs yay
Hang in there Papillion, youre doing an awsome job by the sounds of it hehe
Sounds like you have the best motivation of all Ali hehe
Congrats Laranna!! I hope youre going to share some gorgeous photos of your wedding day!! Thats going to make for an awsome toast anouncing your pg
Cherry ripe cheesecake sounds wayyyy too tempting sas work got me hooked on apply crumble cheese cake, its AMAZING! None of that for me for a while hehe. Fingers crossed you got the results you wanted.
Are you a fan of mexican cookie? Ive been meaning to buy a skipping rope for some time now!
Sounds like you have your exercises down belfie! I think im going to buy a wii fit this weekend, sooo excited!
Yay for CM loss Nai, im much the same this week!
Dinner last night was garlic & basil stuffed chicken, tried out a new recipe from taste.com low fat low carb and yyyuummmmyyyy!!
oh noes! just lost my lovely post with personals! GAH!
in a nutshell, me getting sick, very grumpy, don't want to weigh in. Bout to go back to bed but will make self weigh first. think i've prolly put on weight. But DH weighed self this mronign and he's horrified, so much motivation in this household!
Hi to everyone, and maybe you'll telepathically get the messages I lost
