I'm in but I just can't bring myself to post my begining weight. Can I just say that my aim is to loose 10kgs by Christmas (then I'll work on the other 15 after that)

I go babk to work part-time in the new year and I refuse to buy bigger work clothes.

I'm going to try to get to a cardio-circut class 3 times a week plus do my kick boxing DVD at home. I've just finished a 12 week boot camp and although my fitness improved out of sight I just didn't loose weight.

I'm starting in shakes for two meals a day as of tomorrow. I'm still bf'ing but DS is 10 months now so I'm sure my supply will he fine. If only he would just suck 25kgs off my then I'd be stoked.

I've done this before, I know if I put my mind to it I can do it again.

Really? hmm..might have to google what i could do to help then. Can't really afford to see a physio right now unfortunatly.
If you google "diastasis rectus abdominis exercises" there are a few links with exercises to help. You want to strengthen the core muscles, the ones below the outside tummy muscles. When laying down, you kinda squeeze and almost push your back down. Not sure if that is a good explanation, maybe google instead. The exercises are quite subtle but can be quite effective.

I was able to see a physio through the hospital i gave birth in. They can assist in the 3 months post birth. I see you had a home birth (that will be me next time!) If you had any care through a public hospital, you may be able to access a women's physio through there.

So good to see a few people in here and i have changed the first post to mention this does NOT have to be weight based, you can set a fitness goal ... ie. want to run a marathon etc.

I will update the PARTICIPANTS LIST with the details and goals i have so far.

Kate07 - if we have some nice weather this week did you want to organise a walk, i have MG Tues and the girls MCHN on Thurs but am free any other day.

Leesa - thanks hun... i am sick of starting off well and then loosing the plot and i want to do this so why nto make myself accountable and get some help along the way.. have joined your FB page... great work!

I'm on my phone atm, but I'm pretty sure the link is in Leesa's signature unless it's been removed since I used it.

my weight gain was the result of doing zero exercise after I was injured in a minor car accident.

Dec 2008 I was 60kg. Sadly 2 years and 20kg later, I'm able to walk 6km a day without pain.

I'm hoping and aiming to get to 65kg.

I really should have done something sooner - I joined WW and brought Body Trim and the info has just sat on the shelf
I'm a Bridesmaid in 12 days and I'm hoping to at least drop 3-4kg before the wedding.

IT's A NEW WEEK and the start of a NEW YOU...

So ladies how are we all feeling today?
I am going to 'shame' myself and take some photos this morning, will put them on the FB page we have opened so i am holding myself accountable to MAKE A CHANGE.

This morning for breakfast i has 1/4 mango, 1/2 pear, 1.5 slices of vegemite toast and a mint green tea!
We have just swapped to nuttelex for DD2's allergies which i THINK will be a lot better for all of us anyway.

I have gone back to the green tea as it means NO MILK and NO SUGAR.

I weighed myself this morning and have a 'morning' weight of 102.7, i am shattered my ticker only allows us to write WHOLE weights no .7 etc so it says i have lost a kilo when really it's not completely so i am going to have to change my ticker

Hope everyone has a great day, will update and add you in CharlieBrownGirl -

So i am making myself a challenge this week:

    1. WATER, WATER, WATER:
I drink water a fair bit but i need to drink more, we have cut out softdrink here which is GREAT but we have cordial with tea and sometimes during the day... NO MORE... I am going to drink LOTS of water... might try and fill a cordial jug and see how many i can get through in a day... will let you know how i go!

I tend to drink tea, with only a splash of milk. Am really not a fan of drinking water unless I am at the gym, is that still an ok way to get my fluid intake? I easily have 6 cups a day.

I have been on a plateau for ages, unable to get below 73kg, so I have recently cut down my carbs and upped my protein. It's taking some getting used to but today I am so pleased, my carbs (bad ones mainly, not fruit and veg) have been so low that I get the most awesome treat. Pasta for dinner!

Has anyone else tried a short spell of low carb to give their diet a kick start, and how long before I can be back on normal (165g a day) carbs?

Traveller, how do you know how many carbs are in each food? This is what i have trouble with.

Carbs tend to be starchy foods -rice, pasta, bread, potatoes. Some vegetables.

Im sure there is somewhere online to look at carb/protein/fat contents of food... Maybe calorie king? Not sure.
