I've managed to only gain about a kilo - usually 2-3 at Christmas and Easter so I am pretty ok with it.

Back to work today, Bo rest for the wicked lol

Woohooo everyone, it's great to hear how well you are all doing!

Good stuff Ginger on drawing a line hope the weigh in is better than expected!

ZF, that is such fantastic news about your shopping! You are absolutely flying through this weight-loss!

Not doing much exercise here, other than some swimming and walking around a fair bit, going to town with food too, DF has been making all of our meals and I have been stuffing myself! Hopefully I can reign it in tomorrow a bit! Saw an interesting show on sbs last night called diary of food obsessives, I empathized a lot with the binge eater, particularly the eating in the car and hiding the evidence... I also decided that I need to slow down when eating and pay attention to the full signals, as I have ignored them for so long I wouldn't know what they are anymore!

So, where is Raupe? She has not been in in ages! Might have to go stalking

No stalking necessary, Appletree! Here I am finally!

Soooo.... sorry I've been MIA lately. I work as a catering assistant so you can imagine how busy I was over the Christmas period. I haven't had a day off in about three weeks and by the time I get home I'm too tired to get online. So again, I'm sorry for not being here to support everyone! I had to catch up on some reading (insert redface here) and I'm glad to see that everyone is still putting in lots of effort!

My eating has been crappy lately to say the least. Also, due to my constant work I haven't really exercised, either. And don't get me started on Christmas food... oooohhhh the fudge and ****tails...nom nom... *drool*. I am very happy to say that my body is not used to this food anymore and it does show. The one day I had lots of sugary food I had the WORST headache of my life and was extremely nauseous and light sensitive. I think I gave myself my first ever migraine by consuming too much sugar... Also, I have the worst break outs at the moment. Yes, it totally sucked to feel so crap, but I am TRULY happy that my body reacts to crap food like this. That shows that I am on the right track.

On another note, I went to the doctors today and as a routine thing had my blood pressure done. It was (in my doctor's words) PERFECT! Then she asked me if I'd lost weight (well, I've seen her a year ago last). And I was happy to say that I lost over 17kg. She was soooo happy to hear that! She seemed so thrilled for me, it really cheered me up. So she asked me to hop on the scales *totally scared Raupe hops on the scales dreading what damage she has done over Christmas* And the doctor announced 90kg! Yeah, baby! I didn't put on anything!!! Wooohooo!!

I really have to jump back on the band wagon, though. My mum is coming over from Germany in January to visit me and I am scared! Last time she saw me all she talked about was how much i have put on *rolls eyes*. When she last saw me I was around 98kg. So only 8kg heavier than I am now. She knows I have lost 17kg, but I failed to mention to her that I had put on another 10kg after I'd last seen her. So she thinks I'm almost in my 70's , where really I'm still 90kg. So, yeah. I'm scared what she will say when she sees me next. I guess I have to try extra hard to lose a bit more before she gets here....

So who is weighing in tomorrow?? If you want to pm me I will do this weeks update.

I really REALLY don't want to weigh in, just took a look at the scales and it was not pretty at all! But I will so I know where I am at and how hard I have to work. This mornings check showed I had gained 1 1/2kgs, but tonight it has gone up to 2 1/2kgs! Yikes.. I did go to the movies today and had popcorn and a frozen coke! Maccas on the way home from holidays too! Plus a million other high calorie treats over the last week or do.

Straight to the gym in the morning I think!

I still have no batteries for my scales, so am not weighing in tomorrow. Going to give myself a week to kickstart again anyway after Christmas, I know for certain I have put on some weight. Only question is, how much?

So hitting the footpath in the morning and away we go!

weighed in this morning (before breakfast, after going to the loo, so I knew there was nothing inside me..lol). Apparently I've lost 1.4kg..which could be true, but I was feeling like an elephant after christmas!

Bought some new shorts from Target the other day and they are already starting to feel a bit loose..which is good, but I don't think I'd fit into a size down. shame they don't make in between sizes. haven't been doing many exercise vids lately, but mowed the back lawn last week and will do the front this week sometime. Have been going for a walk every morning and DF hasn't been coming so I can go for longer. Been quite warm too so I've really been able to sweat it up. Think I have just eaten the last of the naughty foods leftover from xmas so back on the healthy eating bandwagon

Ergh weighed myself and i put on 5kg over x-mas.. BUT i am not phased by the end of summer i will be closer to my goal weight than ever before.
I can and will work it all off again.. i mean i have still lost 6.6kg so i am happy and i'm still fitting all those new clothes.
No walk today going out on a boat, so hopefully back into it wednesday and laying off the crap food FROM NOW.

Oh phew!! I only gained 700g! Made sure i fed after a huge feed from DS and a pee Seems to make a good difference!

SS_Storm that is amazing! Well done on losing that much weight over Christmas!! You are a star I think the way you are going, next time you buy something it will definitely be in the smaller size anyway so no need for half sizes!

ZF- a boat sounds awesome! Enjoy your day, i am very jealous! That sucks about the 5kgs, but you will have it off in no time at all, your weight seems to just fall off of you!

Hi everyone else Good to hear from you again!

    Hi everyone!!!

I am joining this thread as a bit of a New Year motivation to be healthier, more toned and less wobbly!!!

I got a wii fit for xmas which i have been using everyday for a week- but i think it must be broken coz it said i lost some weight then i did heaps of stuff for two days and it said i put some on lol Not to worry- it was all a matter of 1kg so hopefully it was just time of day and different clothes- i am still doing about 30-45 minutes on there a day when i get a chance- i have been right into the yoga and stuff every morning, and then some toning work and some aerobic stuff, and i am loving the boxing!!! I also have an excercise bike and i started doing about 30-40 situps a day, but i wasnt very good at sticking to that, i need to start that again!! Finding time for all the excercising is a challange in itself... DS and DD (2 1/2 and 6 months old) take up alot of time and while DS likes to watch and tries to join in with the wii fit- he also hinders me abit and tried to jump on me while i am doing things lol

I also want to start going on more walks and a personal challange is to not drive to the local shops, but walk there and also walk DS to day care on mondays!!

I am also trying to watch what i eat- when i was in my ealry 20's i could literally eat anything and not gain weight- but i think i have to realise that as i am getting older (i will be 30 in two weeks!!) that my body is changing and i need to start watching what i put in my gob!! So i am switching to low fat milk and cutting down on the maccas and dominoes, upping the fresh fruit and vege and excersise!!!!

I have had a browse through the thread, but i will have a better read through later and try to get to know everyone and where everyone is at!! I am getting a weight loss ticker going too!!!

Nice to meet everyone and i am looking forward to slimming down with you all!!!!

    Hello Ladies...

I'm new to this thread too, have read all the posts (last night actually, when I couldn't sleep...)

Okay so DH and I have agreed to lose 10 kg's this year, I could probably do with 20+ kg's but hey, I have to start somewhere...

So I have already tried a new 'thing'... Had my first one-on-one Pilates session last thursday, and another one today, and booked in for one next week too.. Plus DH and I went for a nice walk saturday.. I do cleaning for work, so I do get 'some' exercise there... I am down 700g from last week, but last week I went up about the same soo... Stupid AF...

Me in a nutshell: 27 y/o, living in Sydney with my gorgeous hubby. Had a beautiful son born (full term) i Feb-10, but he passed away 6 days old. If you're interested, you could find out what happened in 'Haakon's story' - not sure if it's possible to search for the post or not. Anyway I have sort of come to terms with losing my little boy, and I want to improve my lifestyle and shred some kg's before we get preggers again.... :-)

    Chat soon ladies

Hi Starbright and TJ! There's heaps of support here. Good luck with your weight loss targets

Quick question from me - DH is/has been trying to lose weight for a long time. I've entered his details into my fitness pal and the calories it's asking him to consume are huge. Today he had a crossant for breakfast, has some salada biscuits for lunch with philly cheese, tomato and cucumber, has had a nectarine and 1/4 cantelope and had some Christmas ham. I've put in what we're having for dinne (stir fried sweet and sour pork with hokkien noodles) and it's still telling him he needs to eat another 1700 cals. He's looking at me like I'm nuts! We went for a walk this morning too. How few calories can he get away with without entering starvation mode?

Have you put in his details correctly? My pal did something similar, and she had put in her height as 5m 5cm instead of 5'5"

Cool!! Two newbies joining us!! Welcome Starbright and TjA83

TjA83- I read your post about Haarkon and the amazing eulogy your aunt wrote, it was just so beautiful and i was so moved by it, i am so sorry you didn't get to spend longer with him. You are an incredible woman who has already experienced so much in life! Haarkon is such an amazing name, does it have a special meaning? I wish you all the best on your journey with us, i am sure you will make those first 10kgs before you even know it! Where abouts in Sydney are you? I am on the upper (upper) north shore.

Starbright- Wow you are off to a good start! Excellent effort! I always wanted a wii fit, sounds like it is great fun I have found doing exercise at the same time every day has kept me motivated, its a part of our normal routine now and i enjoy it! Gone a bit off track this last week though where we have been on holidays, also this week the creche is still closed so i am at a loss as to how to spend my mornings! LOL. Happy 30th for your birthday coming up! Are you going to be doing it up with a big party? Mine is next year, and i am already planning my celebration I think i am going to book us a week in Fiji or somewhere similar and spend the holiday exactly as i want!

PRMG, wow, that really doesn't sound right! I am guessing what he had eaten so far was a max of about 500 calories, plus dinner at around 300-350? So its recommending he eat 2500 calories per day to lose weight? Just by changing my profile to male i was given an extra 200 calories so i would suggest he stick to 1400 calories per day as a more healthy goal!

My husband needs well over 2500 calories a day to maintain, because he is in a very physical job and well over 6' I would double check what he needs before reducing calories too drastically.

AT - thanks hun, not sure about it falling off but am hoping to get back into the walking and eating right, for anyone on FB also check out the fat chic slim page, they are starting a 6wk challenge for those interested in adding to their regime.

Welcome TjA83 & starbright - look forward to seeing how you guys go, there is LOTS of support in here, some very wonderful ladies who are amazingly supportive

PRMG - i'd double check the stats you have entered but being a man he may just require more, mine says i need 1800 calories a day 1200 minimum.. i would probably be allowed more too as i am BFing

How is everyone else going, i am sooooo in the right frame of mind now, over x-mas food and chocolate etc.. BACK ON TRACK, hopefully heading for a walk tomorrrow cos i NEED IT.. might try for some bike time today too if the girls sleep at the same time
