I have a bit of a question: WW always recomends products which have sweetener in them to reduce kilojoul intake but I am wanting to reduce consumption of chemials and additives also. Does anyone else find it tricky bearing this in mind with baking, desserts, and buying out? (Unless you just go for plain fresh eg: fruit or sandwiches etc.) Yoghurt is a good example: 4 or 5 WW points for additive free flavoured yoghurt but only 1 for the nutrasweet variety.
That's a good question - I battle the same thing. While I'm BF'ing and because I have to be a bit careful with some sweeteners (they don't always sit well with my malabsorption issue), so I tend to TRY and stick to healthy whole foods and just a small amount of "real" sweet foods, and keep artificially sweetened foods to a minimum I.e. I'll have 2 squares of dark chocolate (the teensy squares, not the huge ones) but then I also have low fat yoghurt and the low fat/cal hot chocolate sachets as my semi-freebie treats. I just try to juggle it a bit I guess. And for e.g. with the whole foods, my brekkie is low fat soy milk, oats and blueberries, so I reckon that's pretty good. So saying, some days work better than others... and I think I'm always a smidgie over my points, but I try to do some exercise most days and that seems to pick up the slack. Be interested to see how others deal with this tho.
