    Hey everybody,

I thought I'd come and join in here for a little bit of extra motivation and to share my experience. I am looking to lose about 20kg before 30th June 2010 which is my b'day. The plan is to achieve this by eating healthy and correct portion sizes and exercising regularly. So far I have been eating pretty well but not really denying myself anything and going for a 30min+ brisk walk almost everyday. Since my first weigh in on 4th jan I have lost 2.5kg so I'm super proud of myself and can't wait to reach my first goals which are bmi under 30 and lose 5kg.

Sorry I don't have time to read back through the thread but I hope to be in here regularly

Krysalyss - Well done on the weight loss so far. You have done an awsome job Love your new ticker!!

Funkeefrog - (love the user name BTW!!) Welcome to the thread. Well done on your weight loss to date You will be able to reach your first goal within no time at all!

Kaz - Damn wii scales and Boo for AF

JBM - Hope your back on track today. We all have bad days, but the most important thing is to get back on the wagon straight away.

AFM - AF is nearly gone so no period pain today so jumped on the cross trainer this morning. Then did some sit ups, pushups etc. Having coffee with a friend this afternoon so might have a healthy snack before I go so I am not tempted by anything naughty.

krysalyss: great job with the weight loss, you're doing so well. not long to go to reach your goals.
    ktgirl: good work:

    everyone else. keep being good.

    AFM:
i have learnt some things about weight loss in the past 3 years
1: my body can only eat bread 1 x week or i get fat
    2. i don't need to go to the gym 3 x a week to lose weight, it is mostly what i put in my mouth thats the problem.
3: if i fill out a food diary and be honest with what i eat , then i eat less and i eat better.
    4: it's hard
5: eating on a smaller plate and bowl i automatically eat less without trying, this is a big one.
6: i need to take my measurements as sometimes the scales hardly move but i am losing size.

thought some of these things might help.
my weight hasn't changed for this week, but i had a nice healthy dinner of some rissoles and salad and a nice healthy scrambled eggs with pink salmon for breakfast.

lets see how i go for the rest of the day.

    keep up the good work

Argh - why is it I feel like throwing up when I have breakfast in the morning!!!!!!! It has only been since AF has come to visit that when sitting down to have a light breakfast soon after I wake up, that I want to throw up a couple of bites into it - I have a piece of fruit within an hour of getting out of bed. Then about an hour later, I have coffee & cereal.

Did the lemon juice in water the other morning - it isn't nice when it shoots through your nose

Honestly thought I was UTD but since AF has well and truly arrived this month, I know I'm not.

Krysalyss - Wow, that's fantastic, Almost 75% towards your goal

Ktgirl - good on you for having a healthy snack before coffee. It's so easy to get sucked in to having a biscuit/muffin/piece of cake

JBM - your points are really good. I think it really helps to sit down and identify what your strengths and weaknesses and bad habits are. Makes you more successful on your weight loss journey too. I can really identify with number 5. Having smaller portions instead of over eating and NO seconds!

Punks - I find that i go through phases - Sometimes I wake up ravenous and need to eat straight away and others I don't eat for a couple of hours otherwise i feel sick

It was my parents 25th wedding anniversary yesterday so I cooked them a nice healthy dinner and dessert. Asparagus and cheese wrapped in chicken breast, lamb backstrap with rosemary and garlic and roasted vegies and fruit salad with yoghurt for dessert. I was naughty and had a little bit of icecream. Plus we didn't go for a walk because I was so busy cooking so will have to make up for it today. I find that it feels so good to eat healthy delicious food instead of junk

    Hi ladies,
Do you mind if i join your thread?

I'm joining weight watchers this afternoon, and i'm getting really nervous... Last time i tried to join i was 12 weeks pregnant, they took my weight, told me i was a fatty (well didn't really use those words), then once i mentioned i was pregnant they basically threw me out the door! All those pregnancy hormones made me very upset, i cried for days! haha.

But this is it, Bubby is now 8 weeks old. Fully breastfed (so i'm hoping this might help me kick start my weightloss). I think i'm around 95kg I'd like to be in my 70's. So 20kg would be great. But i know they'll tell me that i need to lose more than that. I'll probably have to be in my 60's to be 'healthy'. Seems so far away... 30kg.. really?? how on earth did i let it get this bad? Have any of you got a similar number? Would be great to hear of your experiences and how you keep motivated

I lost 26kg on WW when i was a teenager, its obviously all slowly built back on so i know i can do this!

Look forward to meeting you all!

Tellytubby - Welcome!! And yes, I was 94kgs about 5.5 mths ago after having DS. I'm now 66.8 kgs - it did seem so far away at the beginning, but once I started to see results it egged me on even more to watch what I put into my mouth and ensured I kept up with the exercise. YOU CAN DO IT!
How do I keep motivated? Well I don't like myself being overweight, I like my 'skinny clothes' but the main thing that I aimed for instead of a number was my work uniform pants, I wanted to go back to work and not have to order a larger size - and I have acheived that a few weeks ago - everything else now is just a bonus!!!

I weighed myself this morning and I have lost another 1.1kg so I am really happy with that My DH and I are going to Melbourne for a couple of days on Sunday for a work thing of my husbands so I am going to try and be as healthy as I can while we are away. Hopefully I won't put on too much while we are away.

Tellytubby - Welcome. How did you go at weight watchers yesterday afternoon?

Funkeefrog - Wow that dinner sounds amazing that you cooked for your parents. How sweet of you.

AngelPunks - Boo for AF. Hope it dissapears for you soon.

JBM - Your points are really good, I think it is good to put them down in writing like that. Hope you are going well still.

    Hey ladies,
it went really went yesterday. i'm on 29 points!! Apparently cause i'm breastfeeding, i'm suppose to have an extra 7 points! gee wizz that sounds great! hahaha. But i'm jsut a tad worried its going to mean i wont lose anything, we'll see at the end of the week i guess!

leesa - wow!! you've lost so much in such a short time!!! good on you! how are you losing it? through a program of just through healthy eating? I bet you look fantastic! I know exercise is going to be my downfall. I've got the look in the paper for a second hand walking pram (with two seats) , gotta get myself organised .. i've always hated exercise!

ktgirl - good you you for the extra 1.1! Can't wait to say that i've lost weight, as opposed to put it on, haha. Have fun in Melbourne

Thanks for the welcomes too ladies! x

TT - I'm doing WW on BF points as well and I have lost over 15kg so it does work. I never feel really hungry or deprived either.

    KT - awesome work!!

I was going to weigh in today but I have a tummy bug and the toilet is my friend so I will try for tomorrow. I am really stressing as I go back to work on the 2nd Feb and won't have time for the gym. I guess I will just have to make an effort to ride to work and do a run around the lake a couple of times a week.
