3LM there is nothing like AF to halt you in your tracks. DD is 4months and I'm yet to get her back yet. I always find if I eat pizza, icecream, lots of pasta etc the morning after I can gain a kilo or 3 literally but by the following day (meaning tomorrow) if I am good it doesn't really effect my gain or loss much. Only if I do it everyday IYKWIM.

SB cake, slice or cookies are a HUGE weakness of mine. Probably the worst actually. Can you enjoy a piece without going overboard? Occassionally I can only eat one piece without going back for 4ths. If I tried intervals on the bike just yet I think I would die lol. I don't now if my lowest setting is harder then normal or I am just weak and unfit but even on 1 I struggle like I want to dial it back down lower. No8 the highest is literally impossible for me to do for more then 10secs. My interval is going to 2 or 3 lol. I do work a sweat up mainly under my boobs and just that top bit of my tummy. The most I have managed is 22.5mins. I'm going to do it again today but my bum is so not looking forward to it. I wonder if you can buy bigger seats lol. I sat on a pillow yesterday and it still didn't help much. And the pins and needles in my china were wicked when I got of the bike.

I did a midweek weigh to see if the bike is helping and I am down to 77.9 woo bloody hoo hehe. I so wanted to see the 77. something which either just or almost puts me with a BMI below 25. So that takes my loss in 3months down to 9.1kilos all up. Going to go measure my arm and thigh. Hoping my leg is under 66cm.

thanks for all your kind words and encouragement girls. it really is nice to have this support and not have to do it on my own.

where is the best place for me to do a measurement of my body? should i do around my waist/belly button?
im also thinking of adding a weight loss ticker to help inspire me! its a bit embarrassing if i don't lose any weight though! lol

Ginger, my weigh in buddy, I felt exactly the same way as you because I weighed in this morning and I have gone from 74.8 to 75.2kg. Sigh.

I am disappointed in myself though because I didn't exercise as much as I should have and we went away on the weekend to visit my Nan and friends and I was very naughty. I also had PMS late last week and noticed that I had put cookies and chocolate in the trolley. I am going to do much better this week and am determined not to fall off the wagon. I wish we had a bigger house because I want to bring my mag trainer and bike up from the garage to ride at night.

Belfie, I'm the same. My DH turns 40 beginning of September and I want to be looking great. Seeing that todays date is 1 August it's starting to scare me because it's so close.

Ginger - Back on track - Lets do it! My aim is not to see 75kg on the scales again.

Thanks for the lovely words 3LM and I really wish it is muscle but I'm not so sure.

Calorie intake is good today. Exercise has been a bit hit and miss with a sick DD but I'll see how I go tonight.

ok it's cycle o'clock for me, and I'll be honest, I'm SO not in the zone. My legs are so tired plus I had a shocking night (up with both kids and insomnia in between!!!!).
    But
    it
    will
    not
    happen
    unless
    i
    make
    it
    happen
(well that was oddly fun to type!). Ok I've finished my self-pep talk. Thanks, I'm off to change into some trackydacks.

Mildez - you're doing awesome! But your ticker says 1.8kg lost? I prefer your post that says 9.1kg lost... well done!!

Tinsel, Ginger - I'm cheering for ya!

    Hi all,

Well done on the bike riding girls!
I walked MJ to daycare this morning, did all the grocery shopping and then did level 2 of 30ds... OMG i nearly died... Tan/Becky how have you found it????

To those with gains, make sure that you weigh yourself at the same time each day/week... what the PP said before about pooing is true, depending how often you are going, you could have up to a kilo of extra weight in there!!! also one glass (250ml) of water will add 250grams to your weight, so i weigh first thing in the morning...

about the heart rate when exercising, I am pretty sure that you need to be above 120bpm to be in the fat burning zone and there is a formula that leesa gave us a few weeks ago that is how to work out your maximum heart rate... going from memory 160bpm to your max heart rate is a cardio work out... so there are two different rates that you would be aiming for if that makes sense?

Belfie, i totally get what you are saying about the intake... thanks
Also whos birthday is on Sept 4???? Thats mine

Ginger - i measure my waist at the narrowist part - its just above my belly button

Doing book work (or should be) so gotta go

SJ - It's DH's b'day on the 4th. Then DD on the 17th. Then DS on the 25th. And then me - exhausted on the 5th of Oct - I'll need a rest by then!
As for the HR stuff, well I went looking for the stuff Leesa said... and this is it:
have you got a Heart Rate monitor? If you do a hard 30 min HITT session, continuing on with a brisk / gentle walk won't lessen your efforts. Though you will move down from 'fitness' training (generally anything above 80% of your HR maximum) into the 'fat burning' range (anywhere around the 60% - 79% of your HR maximum) you'll still be burning calories at a higher rate than if you didn't do the HITT session in the first place. Does that make sense?
And then she followed up with a bit more info:
220 minus your age = X (we'll use me as an example as I can't see your age on your sig lol). So 220 - 31 = 189.

189 is my heart rate maximum (if it beats faster than that I'm in trouble lol!).

Then you just work out what each % is eg if I wanted to stick to a 'fat burning' range I'd aim for 70% (70 divided by 100 multiply by 189 = 132 beats per min).

How do you work out if your heart is beating that fast during a workout? Well you do have to slow down a bit (but don't stop entirely, just walking around is fine - this prevents blood pooling around the heart). Find your pulse and count the beats for 15 seconds. Multiply that number by 4 and it'll give you the number of beats per minute. So I'd want to reach the number 33 in that 15 second count to hit 132 beats per min to KNOW I'm working out at 70% of my maximum heart rate. If I only reach 30 beats per min I know I'd be just under that 70% - but still in the fat burning range etc....

I hope it's not all gobbledegook to you - I've tried explaining it as clear as I can.

My tip is to work out what 60%, 70%, 80% and 90% of your heart rate maximum is - write it down and before long you'll have a really good idea on where abouts what level you are working at...I hope this helps hun!
I thought this was great info, so wanted to re-include it here According to that, my fat burning range is between 109 and 144 (I think! I'm a bit tired, so hope I got it right! I'm 37). I reckon most of the time now on the bike I'm working at about 120. I can't remember who else was worried they weren't working hard enough, but if you see from my example, 109 is not that high and is still fat burning.

Mildez, SB - YOU GUYS ROCK! So cool to get on here & see all your posts about what exercise you are/were doing!

Awesome stuff to include that again Belfie. I don't remember it been posted the first time. I either wasn't in here then or as I didn't care at the time what my HR was doing it went in one ear and straight out the other. I'm abit more conscious now of this fat burning business.

Well I had a great day. Ok I ate some chocolate cake and a cookie but that is fine. I stuck to eating well all day and I did 50mins all up on the bike for 450cals. (20mins this morning, 15mins lunch and 17mins now) I also measured my thigh finally and I have finally lost my 1st cm of it. 9kilos gone and only 1cm from my thighs. Waist is 81cm and my arm is actually 1cm bigger. Wish I had of measured my butt to know the size difference there. Oh and did I forget to mention I did 2mins on the wiifit? PMSL

SJ way to go on the 30DS. I have only done mine once. Your doing so well. I lost my remote and couldn't get of the start of it. But my cleaning efforts found it today so no more excuses.

SB way to go on the bike.

Sterla thats great getting on the bike for 20mins. Thats the most I can do at once. Go us lol

Ok Ive suddenly hit a brick wall. Of to bed before I go eat the rest of the cake and open some cream cookies.

Well we are quiet in here today. Maybe everyone is watching Australia's got talent

I had an ok day. Except I ate 3 pieces of cake. One was only an inch square cube of chocolate cake and then 2 pieces of plain cake with no icing and they were my snacks. I also ate a large bowl of beef strog but instead of rice I had cabbage and carrot with it so I hope that helped keep the cals down. Feeling very bloated. As I was watching AGT I did 35mns on the bike which burnt 310cals so hopefully that helped burn of 1 piece of cake.

Hos is everyone else going? Weigh in for me Thursday. I'm hoping I am still under 78kilos. Went for a walk today and passed shops that showed my reflection and mmmm still a long way to go.

I was at a kids birthday party today with lots of yummy food around - I had a few bits and pieces, but didn't overindulge. DH just made us some strawberry ice cream for dessert in the thermomix. I keep thinking it was such a naughty snack, but it's really not. All it is is frozen low fat milk, frozen strawberries and a little bit of sugar. Was so yummy, and probably not too bad for me .

Just did 20 minutes on the bike. I'm not finding it as hard - will either go for longer or put up the resistance soon I think.

Hi everyone - keep up the great work!
