    Hi all,

Tinsel, sorry to hear you've been sick, but yay on the loss!

Sterla sounds like you're going well with your exercise and eating. You're going great! Congrats on your loss too! I was looking back in my history on calorie king and at this stage after I had DS1 (nearly 3yrs ago) I was 10kg lighter than I am now. That was a bit of a slap in the face. I have put on over 10kg in 3yrs! I thought I had been this weight since I had DS1, but obviously not It's kind of depressing to know I had let myself go even more. I have 30-ish kg to go until I hit my healthy weight for height too. Seems like soooo far to go, especially when I'm putting in all of this effort and getting nowhere.

Mildez, good on you for exercising extra! But stay away from the cakes!!!! LOL. I couldn't even have anything in the house like that it wouldn't last 10mins in my possession! I had been contemplating making some berry muffins (healthy ones!) but they wouldn't last long either. Even is they are healthy, eating 10 of them wouldn't be healthy, which I would likely do in my state of mind!

Struggling today already. I haven't slipped yet, but I just feel like binging. I had no sleep last night, DH is on another 2 nightshifts so I have no prospect of sleeping for the kext few nights, even then my normal nights suck anyway. And there is nothing to do out here to really keep me occupied. It's going to be a looong day. I plan on going on my long walk, by myself when DH gets up. I hope that will help get the feel good hormones going. I might set up the wii fit properly too and do that with the kids. That should be fun! I had some m&m's last night thta I shouldn't have, they were supposed to be for some cookies for the kids to make, and I would have had more junk if there was more in the house.
I'm wondering why I'm not losing weight and thining that maybe before I was counting calories with CK, maybe I was eating less cals than I should have been, but just unhealthy food. Because I really am eating well. I'm not just saying it!! Now I'm eating what is reccommended by them and it's more than I usually had. I do feel like all I do is eat! And I do struggle with eating enough some days. And the right proportions of protien/fat/carbs. Most days I don't make the fat or protien requirements....bah! I'm starting to get frustrated. My weigh and measure day is tomorrow, maybe I have lost some cm's. Gosh I hope so. If I haven't it will be tough for me to keep on going. I need to see some cahnges for the effort I'm putting in.

200g gain for me this week. AF is here plus i have the foulest head cold... as does DD & DS. I'm soooo tired. Need to make sure I don't just wallow in comfort food while I feel like crap. Also looked at my overall progress and oh my goodness I have really slowed down in the last month. I need to up the ante somehow. I think I'll just try to maintain while I'm crook then get back into it once I feel a little better. On the bright side, lost another 1cm from my waist & 0.5cm from my hips. So that tells me something. 3cm to go till i'm 80cm... I just finished my "4 weeks, no diet coke" and I'm still consistently losing 1cm off my waist every week even though my weight loss has slowed heaps... so maybe there is something to it? Hmmm .

3LM - it's hard when it's not moving yet. I reckon if you can up your protein that should help, also try to drink plenty of water.

Mildez - AWESOME work on the bike! You go girl, and nearly 10kg gone now, that is fantastic .

Sterla - great loss, well done! I agree that BF'ing totally helps, I noticed a huge difference when I tried whilst feeding DS and then after I'd stopped feeding. So it was such motivation to do it while I fed DD this time. It's great incentive.

Tinsel - eeww gastro you poor thing, that's the pits. I have fingers crossed that 75 is gone on Monday too.

Ginger - you can do it. I've had weeks with gains/falling off wagon (this week obviously!) and just pick yourself back up & try again - then you've got a chance. If you don't try again, you'll just be annoyed at yourself. Don't pretend it didn't happen, we ALL have times when it happened and the key to success is to look forward to what you want, not backwards at what you're not happy about.

Tan - Yoga meltdown? Lol that sounds scary but good I guess . It's hard around birthdays, good on you for keeping on keeping on!

AFM, DH is on board now. I'm really noticing a difference in his behavior - am daring to hope that it'll really stick with him this time. He even cycled friday night after a huge week at work. Wow. He has a lot of trouble with his back (really needs to lose weight for it) so the challenge for him is to stay motivated & disciplined through the setbacks that inevitably happen. . He has 15kg to get rid of.

Ok well I'm feeling more motivated after writing this. Minestrone for lunch, a fresh home made juice packed with goodies then dinner at the IL's (feeling strong about that cos it sticks it to my MIL when I eat well ).

Belfie - how has your search for the HRM gone?

I found a way to up the ante - but I need the HRM for it to be successful!!

Bel - It's yoga but with built in cardio - so things like warrior pose you hold, then sort of do squats built in as well ITMS. No diet coke? Do I need to do this???!! I am totally addicted, if it's in the house I will drink at least 2 glasses a day. At least. If it's not here I don't drink it though, and I definitely need to up my water intake. Too much coffee and DC and not much else. 200 grams ain't much darls and I get huge bloating during AF. xoxo

I was so strong today - went to a b'day party for Iz at Hungry Jacks - had a coffee and that was it! I didn't have brekky before we left and got there and Iz didn't finish her chips and burger - I SO could have scoffed it but didn't only ate 2 chips! and I said no to chocolate cake! Yay for me! Speaking of yoga meltdown I am off to do something once I get off here! Would much rather nap though!

Re the diet coke, there was some research in the news recently which followed some old folks (60yo's) for 10 years, and those who drank 2 or more DC's a day, basically had a massive increase in their waistlines (like a 70% greater increase than the folks not drinking DC). And cos there's been lots of research suggesting it mightn't be good for you, but often it wasn't clear which came first... did fatter folks drink it cos they were fatter, or did they drink it & become fatter - this seemed to be a clearer indication that no, drinking too much DC really will make a difference metabolism & blood glucose levels. So given I'm very apple-shaped (& after 2 bouts of GD + insulin) & madly trying to get my waistline below 80cm, it struck a chord. I've always been a DC addict, and finally this was a good reason for me to cut it out. I think I'll still have it, but just socially, maybe once or twice a week tops I reckon.
Woo hoo to you for being strong at Hungry Jacks!

Ladybird - I was on my phone earlier and didn't realise who you were! I still can't find the HRM at all but i'm really hoping it'll show up soon!

Ah cool thanks hun - makes sense, I have heard over the years that it can make you hold extra weight and makes sense that if I am thirsty to drink water not chemicals :roll eyes: My gf lost a heap of weight a few years ago just by upping her water intake and walking 30 mins every day. That's it and she lost 8 kgs

Its amazing how such little changes can make such big difference. I won't eat fake sugars because of the research I have read about what it might do to you.

sorry just popping in to say hi! have been away for a while... i hope everyone is going well! by the look of the tickers as i skimmed past it looks like you are! i haven't weighed myself recently but have my period at the mo and ate some *gorgeous* home made italian custard pie (old napolian recipe, from a friends mum) made by a friend. OMG was sooooo good! my period was a week late in arriving but am sure that has been down to stress. thankfully is almost over (stress that is) as have last thing in downpour of stuff tomorrow. presentation, am almost there with it, just need to put together the slides and polish the talk.

have been doing lots of walking/pushing pram where we were but other than that nothing really. so will get back into it!

well done on the losses and restraint with burger king/hungry jacks and chocolate cake! byee!

That's cool belfie , I wasn't sure if people recognized me with my new username.

Well u can use a clock which has a seconds hand, so long as u can see it from your bike, is that something u could do? P. S - I've greatly cut down my aspartimine intake, nasty stuff, but mostly because of u advocating it's unhealthiness - so thank u Hun!

Tanstar - well done on resisting HJ's Hun, did u find it was easy to do that when u keep your goals in mind? I find saying no to naughty food gives me a huge stubbornness so no matter how often I'm offered it, I dig my heels in harder lol!

Hiya Livvy, beckoes, mildez, 3lm !!!

Oh oh oh, I found the 20 mtr beep test app. As much as I dont like running I'm going to give it a crack, and anyone else that wants / needs to be convinced of fitness improvements, this is a great thing to do to realise how far you've come .

    Hi Guys...

well my week was a terrible one, i totally dropped the ball and ate too much and made the wrong coices... i am not sure of it is lack of sleep or what, i am feeling premenstral (AF has not come back yet) but i dont know what's going on...
Anyway - i have paid the price for my slack week with a 600gram GAIN
I totally deserve it and would have been a bit annoyed with a loss as i would then not pick myself up again properly... But 600 grams

ARRRGGGG - username changes!!!!! because i am on my phone more, i cants see tickers and dont know who you are... i had to get on the computer!

Belfie Are you really tall??? size 8 and 80kg?????? man, how i wish!!!!
Tan I might have to look into that Yoga one, i need to get something less impact.

    Hi everyone else
To those that have strugged this week, tomorrow is MONDAY the start of a new week and i am starting back on it TODAY to make sure that i am ready for my new week starting tomorrow!

Congratulations to those that are getting losses, your hard work is paying off

ANYONE got any suggestions about workout DVD's that are low impact that are really good, my knees have taken a pounding from the 30ds and i cant do it as regularly as i would like/need to

oh and yup! seconded! if there are numbers on the ingredients list, it's not real food in my opinion.
I agree in the most part.... BUT some things like Vitamin C are listed in numbers (E300) - same goes for other natural minerals and vitamins, so you need to watch for them...

    Thats it for me...

I WILL DO BETTER FROM NOW ON

Numbers are on EVERYTHING! It's a case of knowing which ones are good and which are bad - clearly DC is really bad for you - no brainer but others a bit harder to figure out. I have a little list in my wallet to check - particularly for the kids but I still find it really difficult sometimes. Things you think are ok turn out not to be!

Weigh in tomorrow - eeps will see how I go, had pizza for dinner last night but have been good other than that. No exercise yesterday though so will have to get out for a run today - looks like a corker of a sunny but cold day in Melbs.

    Have a great Sunday ya'll.

Sooo, a 200g loss for me. *Wow. *Whooppeeee (*note the sarcasm). Still a loss I guess. Better than a gain, but totally unmotivating, demotivating even. I have been trying and struggling so hard to continue eating healthily and all I get is a 200g loss. Pooo. I haven't measured yet, so Iam praying for a decent loss there. I have been doing mostly well with my eating since 26th July...that's almost 3 weeks. And I have been walking every 1-2 days for the last week and a half. I lost 1 kg in the first week, and now almost nothing. Booo freaking hooo . All I have wanted to do for the past few days is go out and buy cake and chocolate and chips and crappy food. It's proving hard not to go out and just stock my cupboards with crappy food again and just wait until I'm not bfing anymore and I can really knuckle down and get serious. But that's likely to be 1-2yrs away. I don't want to be this fat then....gggrrrrr.

    Just had to share...

This morning after my shower I was putting on my jeans and thought 'These feel different'. I looked and realised I'd grabbed the wrong pair of jeans. The pair I had grabbed was a pair that I never wear because I couldn't do them up... but this morning I could, and not only that, they're comfortable! These lifestyle changes really are making a difference!

    Awesome Sterla

3LM - i hate little numbers, but you are right, at least it is not a gain... could you be converting to muscles?? have you got measurements to go by? i find that these are more indicative... Ladybird said a little while back that fat takes up more room than muscle, so check your measurements, that might make you feel better

Hi girls, I'm on my phone so will keep it short and sweet. I have had a shocker week and been binging every day just about! I was going to give it all away but I've decided to weigh in tomorrow and start a fresh. Might even do a weight loss ticker to help motivation. My goal for this week is to exercise every day. See you all in the morning!

I have had a shocker too. Totally demotivated. I measured myself and either I have only lost 1cm around my hips, or I have just measured in a different spot, which I'm more inclined to think is what I have done since there has been no loss anywhere else.
    This just sucks.

Sorry Sammie re my username change, I'm also not on fb anymore due to some security issues which arose last week to do with work.

3lm - Sammie is right re muscle taking up less space than fat. I'd rather see a 200 gram loss than a 200 gram gain anyday! If u do all the right things this week my bet is that your in for a great weigh in result this weekend!

As for everyone who isn't happy with their results / weigh ins on a consistent basis, (we all have bad weigh ins from time to time), look at what your doing vs what your not doing - and evaluate 'how is that working for you'.

For instance, I used to eat a meal until I was full, which usually sabotaged all of my exercise efforts - so it wasn't working for me. Now I eat part of the meal, then sit back have some conversation and water, and usually after 5-10 mins I'm feeling quite 'satisfied'.

Sorry if I'm rambling, it might be really obvious for me to point this out, but I too, also became annoyed at little losses, or even gains after doing MOST of the right things. It wasn't until I consistently did ALL of the right things that the weight consistently came off me each week.

For those who've had a bad week and come off the wagon, adopt gingers approach NOW. New week, start fresh, NOW! Don't be burdened by the negativity, just let it roll off your back.

AFM - I'm going to start running fcs from the blog now, but I'm not sure if people are still interested in it so much that they'd go to yet another website just to read my ramblings....?
