I had my doctor did the same thing, I was also in healthy weight range at 59kg at 165cm and it was also while I was doing high end cardio training. TBH all it did for me was make me feel "high" I couldnt sit still for 3 days, no sleep for the same period, and only lost a little weight because I had no interest in, and forgot to eat. My body then normalised it and it didnt do anything. at all. I dont feel that its worth it at all. All I got out of it was 3 days without sleep
Reductil on the other hand, it worked a treat. But, it got banned in Australia a couple of years ago because it tends to increase the risk of heart attack in obese patients.....
So in short I treated my body pretty badly when I was younger to try and achieve a shape that wasnt possible on my build.
OMG, Caz, duromine for 59kg/165cm tall???? That is absolutely ridiculous! At that height/weight, you're perfectly normal and actually quite slimly built!
ausgirl, I do think it is irresponsible of the doctor, definitely. Your height and weight are normal. My only advice for you would be, do not take duromine!!!! I have never taken it, mostly because I have had 3 friends who have used it and the side effects are horrific. So not worth losing weight for. And it is addictive I believe.
Maybe your best bet would be going to a naturopath or nutritionist/dietitian. Did you have your hormone levels checked too? Maybe your weight isn't coming off because of some sort of hormone issue.
Good luck hun. I know what the battle with weight is like, and it sucks!
