Winter I like the cook-up idea!

I've actually done a menu plan for the week so our food shopping this morning should be heaps easier and I've tried to include some dinners where we can freeze the leftovers. That is, if I can get to them before dh nabs them for lunches! (he's not fan of sandwiches!) He'd rather buy something than get up 5mins earlier to make something, not good for the budget or healthy eating

I went to Balance today for the first time in ages. I used to be really dedicated to it and would go every week as well as doing yoga at home a couple of nights a week.
Because I've increased the amount I do weights and increased the weight of the weights I use I've been feeling really tense and like I'm constantly shrugging my shoulders if that makes sense. I can't afford a massage but figure that for me yoga/body balance/pilates has a similar affect as massage and it only costs me my time and my normal gym membership.
Lets also see if it helps me sleep better again.

Also I've just started realising that I've been eating badly again, especially since Christmas. I was always meant to go back to good eating after Christmas/New Year...well now it's the middle of Feb and I haven't really been eating well. I've noticed my gut feeling bloated again since I started eating bad too. I want to eat better and have been "trying" but haven't actually been making a really conscious effort to. So at lunch today I got a salad subway wrap with no cheese instead of a vegie patty wrap with cheese and lots of pizza sauce.

When we go shopping on Thursday I'm gonna get some salad things and try really hard to have a side of salad instead of a side of chips with my dinner like I do almost every single night.

If I make up a big salad on the weekend and have a bit in a wrap for lunch at work and with my dinner then it should be gone before it goes bad. I think I'll also cut up some carrot sticks and keep a heap of them in the fridge for when the munchies hit. Perhaps I'll have some hommus on hand as well. I think that's fairly healthy.

Another thing I've noticed is that I keep forgetting to have breakfast and because I'm skipping a meal I've been undoing all the good work I did before Christmas and have been gaining weight a bit more. I need to remember to eat a healthy breakfast. I blame my boss for this. I was having breakfast at work first thing and he thought that was funny and strange so I got embarrassed and stopped having breakfast altogether. Need to bring my box of cerial back to work and go find somewhere quiet to eat rather than at my desk I think.

Hi guys, sorry i've been so busy! Today I am having my first day off fromt he gym since Jan 10th!! And i'm still in my pj's

MG - Hun I think changing your trainer would be a bad idea babe. He has been there with you through so much and he understands you. I think you're very emotional right now and you can't expect him to "get that" does that make sense? I think it would set you back so much having to excplain and work through everything with a new trainer and in the end they might not be the right one for you. As for what happened with S well that sort of **** goes on in every gym...people will alaways ***** and gossip and if you are a slighly easy target then you will get it...just let it wash over you...next time say something like "he wishes" and keep walking. I've had it with both of my PT's. The gym is a place that you go to for you - nobody else and unfortunatly it means that a vast majority of the people that go there are very self absorbed and love to gossip What's the update hun?

And yes COmbat is waaaay easier after weights! Pump/Combat is so much easier than COmbat/Pump

Hoep everyone else is doing great Sorry i'm not doing a very good job of being Rach and Leesa!

Well, it's been a disastrous week for me
I couldn't get to Combat on Wednesday morning as the creche was booked up already. I had tried to book Tess in two days before and it was full then. I was the first name on the waitlist and no phone call. I have now booked the next two Wednesday's for the morning session only I am not sure what the class is going to be as the Combat teacher has another job.
I will get to Attack on Sunday and give it my all and then some!! May even do Spin on Saturday morn as DH is starting work late..see how I go with time.

Hi Sharon! Welcome. Good meals during colder months or colder days is a slow cooker. They can be done the night before and then put the cooker on before you go to work and when you walk in dinner will be ready and a beautiful smell through your house..yum!

Winter: I am pretty sure you said you had the name Tess your baby list?? When she was born and the MW asked did I have a name she commented that she couldn't remember the last time she heard Tess..I also liked it as I hand't heard it for a while either.
Oooh, and thanks for the tip on Combat..might do the warm up session before hand

Cqueen: You are doing a wonderful job!! Your advice to MG was excellent and very wise.

MG: How are you going? That's was pretty crappy what happend at the the gym. But as Cqueen says, it goes on in all gyms. I have noticed it around mine, I don't even have a PT. I also had run through with some weights with a 'young guy', that makes me sound sooo old! and he was a bit of smart ***, that turned me off PT. You though sound like you have a pretty good understanding of you PT so I would stick with it.

Hi Daniellabella: Do you have a slow cooker? If you like porridge you can put it on the night before and it will be ready when you wake up. That's what my mum used do for us when we lived at home a going to school to make sure we ate.

Nettie, leckert, Hollo, Berrinice and anyone I have missed..how are you all going??

Enjoy your next workouts everyone..dinner tonight is chicken & salad and some gippsland organic yoghurt for dessert....no mangoes and icecream tonight

Hi all, coming to chat in here.
Ive been trying to improve my diet/ exercise, started bout 3 weeks ago.
So far been doing my wii fit and trying to go walking in the evenings when girls are in bed (usually 45mins)
Diet wise trying to eat better which I find very hard, alot less bad snacks and stopped my after dinner snacks.

I just feel bit lost in whole area so hope to pick up tips thru here!
I need to cut down on my bread/ carbs group, eat so much of these cause I just feel nothing else fills me up properly.
Not sure too what sort of exercise I should be doing, I want to tone up all those problem flabby areas. My wii fit does work me up a sweat but heard somewhere recently that they aren't actually that great. Anyone else heard this?

Anyway hopefully from all the chat in here I will get lots bits and pieces from you all!

    Welcome ShellBell!

Last night I did my weights and tonight have done some sit-ups (so far). Been good-ish with my food too and when I weighed myself this morning (don't do it all the time), I've lost ONE KILO.

Doesn't sound like much - but it went the right way..down!

I'm going to be investigating classes locally too... so watch this space!

Hollo - hope you had a great weekend and are ready to burn it all off!

I've actually been doing some sit-ups and weights! I danced arond the loungeroom today with DS (to Winter Olympic opening ceremony that I had taped!) which got the blood pumping too!

Starting to learn to have my water and stop eating when I'm full... all good signs!

The ONE kilo really made me change gears!

Not sure if it's a sign or not, but when I went shopping today, I got a flyer stuck under my wiper for the local ladies gym. They were pushing Les Mills (or whatever it's called)! I'm gonna ring them and see if I can get shown their gym and what they have to offer...

Nettie: Congrats on the 1kg! It's so motivating when you see the results of your hard work (I'm discovering this with housework at the moment myself).

I managed to do some yoga at home this afternoon. DD was asleep and DH was doing other things and I told him to leave me alone for an hour while I centred myself and did some yoga. It was nice. Hoping to go to Pilates at the gym tomorrow if my morning meeting doesn't go overtime like last fortnight.

been rather busy with school stuff ( and then trying to set up the new 40" LCD tv with DH) and haven't had a chance to get on the wii. DS's also been feeding far too much overnight for me to function if I stay up much past his bed times (just looooovvvee teething NOT! and the issues with wind that he's been having - so want a pulling hair out smilie- ). Haven't even managed to get to my pilates class the past 2 weeks - missed the pay cycle with my new contract so didn't get paid last fortnight (hopefully double pay this week).

On the plus side I did find my pedometer (now I just have to get a new battery for it soon as it's starting to show that it's dying) so I'll start wearing that again from tomorrow (if it lasts all day)

I was so happy to do my yoga at home yesterday afternoon. Also went to pilates today. My neck is feeling much better now thank goodness. No pain today, and I managed to work the knot out in my neck. I've realised that yoga and pilates are (for me anyway) just as effective as a massage and cheaper.

Not sure if I mentioned that I haven't been sleeping well for the past couple of months and that over the past few weeks I've been feeling strange. My skin has been irritating me. I can't stand the feeling of things on it sometimes, like clothes, sheets, air. I'm eating and hungry but not enjoying eating my food. I'm also constantly thirsty.
I'm getting blood test results back tomorrow. My doctor at first thought I was pregnant but then I told him that I still have a year left on my implanon so he said that pregnancy is probably the least likely thing it could be. He also thinks it could be my iron levels or that the implanon is gradually reducing the amount of hormone it releases coz the expiry date is coming up in about 12 months.

Not going to be able to go to pump tomorrow because it clashes with my doctors appointment. Might go and do my own thing in the weights room though. I really love weights.

    Hi girls,

Been a bit of a bad eating week for me, all I've craved is salty food (like the dixie drumsticks) and peppermint chocolate! I think I've eaten so much of it it's now out of my system and the original intolerance to fatty foods I had in the first trimester is back! Looks like I'm now back to fruit, veges, rice and meat for a while.... at least that will help minimise the weight gain!!!

I've still been going to water aerobics 3 times a week, although it's not much fun at the moment as I feel like I'm going to be sick halfway through.... the joys of exercising when pregnant

Nettie - well done on losing 1kg!!!! That's 2 tubs of butter!!!!!

    It's been a while!!

Welcome Shellbell, these girls are great motivators

Hollo: How was the rest of your birthday? Love a glass bubbles, did you indulge???

Nettie: A loss is a loss, that's all that matters, well done! Did you take a look at the gym? I like alot of the Les Mills classes.

daniellabella: How did your Dr's appt go? I hope you are sleeping better.

Hey MG: How did you go with your PT, all sorted? Everytime I read your username the movie Top Gun comes into my head

leckert: How did you end up after your tough few days? I am curious a pedomoters, do you think you need a good one to get an accurate result?

Hey Sharon: I loved doing water mum's when I was pregnant. 3 times a week is fantastic! I craved salt during pregnancy too and Icecream, and lots of it!

Mmmmmm, I hope Leesa is ok and comes back soon.

Well, last week was a right off. I couldn't do combat as I couldn't get a creche spot. Had visitors on Fri and Sat night so no Spin or Attack either. My two nieces had a sleep over on Sat night and one of them woke at 1am wanting her mummy, so I had to lie with her for 40mins till she fell back asleep. Luckily she didn't wake any of the other kids. My DH put up our tent in our lounge room for my DS1 and his cousin. Lot's of giggling and a very very early morning

I did Thump today. This is the class that is supposed to replace Combat on Wednesday mornings. After the class the instructor got a better offer and will not be doing Thump on Wednesday's So now need to see what I will be doing next Wednesday...it's a surprise
I enjoyed Thump, I had done it before I had Tess. It's a hard work out and the instructor was great, pity he wont be doing it anymore.
DH will not be working on the weekends anymore, so I might start up Spin again on Saturday Mornings. Another one I did on a regular basis before Tess.

Hope everyone is having a blast of a week!!

daniellabella: How did your Dr's appt go? I hope you are sleeping better.
Found out I have hyperthyroidism. Had another blood test this morning to get more info so I can start treatment. The insomnia is one of the things this is causing. Might be a few more months yet before I'm back to normal. Depends what this lot of tests show.

    Hello ladies!!

    I'm back !

My head is in much better space, and I'd been veering away until I completed two TAFE assignments before returning to work next week.

My injury turned out, twas not a strained disc - but an extremely tight sacroilliac joint. Tonight I think I'm going to give Attack a shot - high impact style. I'm instructing at Fernwood tonight, and the bunch of girls are great there - although they loved it when i was injured.

Heather - thank you for wondering about me , I'm glad you got back into Thump - a surefire way to shed kilo's!!! But don't forget us Attackers either.

Danni - I am relieved they at least know what the problem is, that has got to be a load off of your mind eh?

Winter - I am holding you to that next week . Hope the little one perks up really soon!

Leckert - come on Liz, you can go for a brisk evening walk without a pedometer . Try exercising through the tiredness (even if its for only half an hour), I know its especially hard to get motivated, but give it a crack for a week. I found it elevated my mood and honestly helped me get through the day easier. I'm talking, eye balls hanging out of my head tired (so I assume we're on the same page lol), I don't think about it, I just put on my trainers and go for it.

CQ - Almost the big 3-0 hun!!! I'm sure you'll have an awesome time at the quarterlies - and I hope you love the new Pump like I do! I shall have a package to you asap he he!

Nettie - spill the beans on the new gym!! If it has Les Mills especially do it. Actually I did a fill in a fortnight ago and a lady from Murray Bridge needed a gym fix (her BF lives in Adelaide, she lives up at MB) and said her gym had Pump, possibly Attack too? So maybe its the same place? She spoke quite highly of the gym in any case.

    Yours in health and fitness,
